Survival
BASICS
Name; Alexis Daher Species; Human(?) (Arabic) Age; 28 in appearance, is actually much older. Gender; Male, he/him Sexuality; Demiromantic bisexual Spouse; Mal Riviere, they/them (deceased) Callsign/Alias; "Alerio"
Sections in blue are additional information specific to this version of Alex.
Reminder; none of this is specific to a certain media.
-
APPEARANCE
Physical Basics; Tan skin, olive green eyes that gleam golden when he uses the Sight, and slightly curly jet-black hair worn fairly short. He only really combs his hair if he's in disguise, and that plus wearing a hood all the time means it's incredibly messy. He's short, 5'5", and lean to average. He has a parkourist's build, and he's missing his left ring finger. Tattoos/Scars; He has far too many scars to list, but the ones that matter are; nasty scarring all down his back, from his right shoulder to his left hip, from the fall that killed him the first time; and a particularly bad one just above his right knee that gives him a slight, perpetual limp. These two are the worst, but there's also one that rakes over his left eye, a splash of burn scarring over his right hip, a smattering of whipping scars across the few areas of his back devoid of scars from the cliff, and what's very visibly scars from a bite mark on his right forearm. (This one is of course more concerning in certain zombie-related media settings...) I'm disregarding the numerous bullet and knife scars. In terms of tattoos, he has a bird over his heart, a soaring eagle done in crosshatching, and his spouse's name and their marriage date on the inside of his left wrist, over his pulse point. Posture; After so many years of living as an Assassin, Alex is very, very good at making himself into whatever he needs to be, including his posture, the way he talks, and his apparent personality. The thing he can't change is the way he moves; always a little too quiet, a little too smooth, absolutely sure of himself and where he's stepping. Like a wolf or a big cat.
ATTITUDE
Personality; When he's not pretending to be someone else, Alex is mostly just tired. He is so tired and done with literally everything. He's also an incredibly grumpy bastard, because seeing the worst of the world most of the time will do that to you. However, he always has a kind word for children, and he's genuinely kind, even if he's very gruff about expressing it. If he's relaxed and he likes you enough, you might even get a genuine smile. On the other hand, if he's angry, he gets very quiet and cold. He's ruthlessly protective of those he considers to be his responsibility. After the death of his spouse and, y'know, the whole apocalypse thing, he's much more quiet, serious, and withdrawn, which is a feat considering his previous attitude. He doesn't talk much, prefers to keep to himself, and doesn't join groups of survivors for longer than a few days on the road. He doesn't have much kindness to spare anymore, and even kids only get a small smile or the occasional bit of candy he could scrounge up. Likes; He likes being left alone and the quiet. He's fond of anything that reminds him of places and people he's left behind, and he has a certain affection for deserts and roofs with red tiles. He likes libraries, birds, and the night sky. And, of course, knives. Dislikes; He absolutely loathes gods, politicians, and generally those who feel entitled to other people's respect without doing a damn thing to earn it. He doesn't much like people in general, honestly. He also dislikes loud environments and absolutely hates the cold. Strengths; Anything to do with stealth, deception, or misdirection. He can climb just about anything, even things that really seem like they should not be climbable. He's also very good at thinking clearly under pressure. Weaknesses; Anything to do with interpersonal skills. Sure, he can fake it well, but he is so bad at people. He also has an unfortunate self-sacrificial streak, in that he knows he can survive more than most people (and technically survive anything, if one counts 'dying and coming back' as surviving) and so he's fairly easily baited into traps if he thinks it'll protect someone else. More physically, his bad leg acts up the colder his environment, worsening his limp, which slows him down and reveals an obvious weak point. Motivations; He's motivated by his Creed, primarily, but he's also motivated by a deep hatred for Isu and everything they've built. He considers them a curse, and wants to find a way to destroy all the Pieces of Eden- or, failing that, collect all of them and hide them away from the world. Since the world he knew is effectively dead, along with the one he loves, he's lost much of his motivation. He still hunts for Pieces of Eden, but with much less urgency now that anyone who might have known about them are essentially wiped out. He's listless.
KIT
Dress; He's worn a lot of things across the centuries, but his latest ensemble is much more rugged; as many pockets and belts as possible, so he can carry as much essential gear with himself as he's able. Cargo pants, work boots, tank top for mobility, hooded sweater for warmth, and a thick leather jacket as makeshift armor (won't stop a bullet, but decent against knives- or teeth!), with plenty of pockets, of course, some heavy-duty gloves, and a face mask, maybe some goggles. A slim backpack for carrying things too big to fit in pockets without throwing off his balance too much. Weapons/Tools; In addition to his usual lockpicks, throwing knives, crowbar, swiss army knife, and his hidden blade and grappling hook launcher, he also carries; A few different hunting knives, a cast iron bowl that he cooks and eats from, a sleeping bag, a supply of water-purification tablets, several maps, a journal and pens, and a book of fairytales. In settings with guns, he also carries a handgun, a rifle, and a handful of flash-bangs and smoke grenades. Skills; Again, anything to do with stealth, deception, or misdirection. Also, thievery and parkour. He's also good at forgery, though he doesn't use that skill as often anymore. Most of his relevant skills these days are less related to assassination and more related to wilderness survival; how to construct a shelter, safe places to camp, what plants are and aren't safe to eat, how to track animals... all that good stuff.
BACKSTORY
Continued from the backstory [here].
After the Eye (which, depending on the setting, could either be the cause, catalyst, or simply coincidental to whatever apocalypse happened), Alex wakes up in a long-since abandoned Temple.
The world he emerges to is not the same as the one he left, and he begins making his way to survive in this new world...
[When and if new, setting-specific backstories are constructed, they'll be put here.]

APPEARANCE
Physical Basics; Tan skin, olive green eyes that gleam golden when he uses the Sight, and slightly curly jet-black hair worn fairly short. He only really combs his hair if he's in disguise, and that plus wearing a hood/helmet all the time means it's incredibly messy. Additionally, his entire left arm is severely burned, and he has a strange almost circuit-board-like pattern that extends all the way up his arm and appears gold in certain lights. These three are the worst, but there's also one that rakes over his left eye, a splash of burn scarring over his right hip, a smattering of whipping scars across the few areas of his back devoid of scars from the cliff, and what's very visibly scars from a bite mark on his right forearm. I'm disregarding the numerous bullet and knife scars. In terms of tattoos, he has a bird over his heart, a soaring eagle done in crosshatching. It's joined by a snake curling around it in the ouroboros symbol. Posture; After so many years of living as an Assassin, and more years spend scraping by in the Dark Ages, Alex is very, very good at making himself into whatever he needs to be, including his posture, the way he talks, and his apparent personality. The thing he can't change is the way he moves; always a little too quiet, a little too smooth, absolutely sure of himself and where he's stepping. Like a wolf or a big cat.

As well, he's a bit lost, because he's so used to seeing history as it happens that having missed a big chunk while he was 'dead' has thrown him off a lot. Likes; He likes being left alone and the quiet. He's fond of anything that reminds him of places and people he's left behind, and he has a certain affection for deserts and roofs with red tiles. He likes libraries, birds, and the night sky. And, of course, knives. He enjoys exploring abandoned, ruined cities, as well, searching for lost knowledge. Dislikes; He absolutely loathes gods, politicians, and generally those who feel entitled to other people's respect without doing a damn thing to earn it. He doesn't much like people in general, honestly. He also dislikes loud environments and absolutely hates the cold. Additionally, he holds a special hatred for the Hive and the Vex. Strengths; Anything to do with stealth, deception, or misdirection. He can climb just about anything, even things that really seem like they should not be climbable. He's also very good at thinking clearly under pressure, and coming up with distinctly unconventional ways of using the Light and the Dark. Also, once he's swapped from using the Light to using the Dark, it's very hard for him to swap back to the Light again, unless he's specifically attuned himself to the Prismatic state, which takes him a lot of concentration and requires frequent meditation to maintain. Motivations; He's motivated by his Creed, primarily, but he's also motivated by a deep hatred for Isu and everything they've built. He considers them a curse, and wants to find a way to destroy all the Pieces of Eden- or, failing that, collect all of them and hide them away from the world. Since the world he knew is effectively dead, his new motivation is to protect what's left of humanity with everything he has.
KIT
Dress; He has a few sets of armor he swaps out depending on his needs. Set one, for exploration; Pathfinder's Helmet, Thunderhead Grips, Intrepid Discovery Vest, Wildwood Strides, Wildwood Cloak, primarily in Metro Shift and Mind's Eye shaders. Set two, for official Vanguard operations; Gensym Knight Casque, Errant Knight 1.0, Limitless Subversion Vest, Shadow Specter, Photosuede Cloak, with Dead Orbit's Fate and Warbrick shaders. Set three, when he feels homesick and needs the grounding of a familiar set of gear; the full Eagle's set, no shader, except the bond, which is instead the Parade Cloak hood with the Veteran Legend Cloak in the Gambit Leather. Weapons/Tools; His tools have changed a fair bit considering most of what he needed his last set for no longer exists. Hiraeth can take care of any locks or hacking, he has his Light for things he'd have needed a crowbar for, and he can also use his Light to traverse what he'd previously need a grappling hook for. These days, his non-weapon gear consists of a set of transponder beacons for marking locations of interest, a single Ahamkara claw, and numerous material samples, as well as a handful of strange coins just in case he runs across Xûr. In terms of weapons, he swaps out his setup often based on a rotating arsenal of his most prized weapons, but one thing that never leaves his side is his Hawkmoon hand-cannon. He favors bows, sniper rifles, and swords. Skills; Again, anything to do with stealth, deception, or misdirection. Also, thievery and parkour. He's become fairly adept at wilderness survival, finessing Golden Age information databases, and uncovering lost or nearly-destroyed knowledge.
BACKSTORY
Continued from the backstory [here].
After using the Eye, Alex was genuinely properly dead, for the first time in a very long time, and he was glad to be able to rest after his long life.
Needless to say, he is mildly annoyed to be resurrected. Again.
He's rezzed by his Ghost, Hiraeth, in the Temple in the early Dark Ages after the Collapse. He spends the Dark Ages wandering, scraping out a living from the ruins and trying to figure out what the fuck happened while he was dead.
He spend a brief stint as a Warlord before he starts getting too much attention from the Iron Lords, and he ducks out and runs rather than join them because quite frankly he's too used to being his own master to be comfortable beholden to anyone else.
This transitions into the City Age, where he's primarily a contracted scout for the Vanguard, and he doesn't really factor into the main story too much.
However, this is quite flexible, and I can easily work him into whatever you'd like!

Alex frowns. This one isn't in any shape to be moving anywhere, but they seem to be in denial that they're actively dying. Either unreasonably stubborn or not all that smart. Or maybe just traumatized, they have that shell-shocked look.
That might also be the blood loss, though.
"You aren't in any shape to be going much of anywhere," Alex says, and, ah. He hasn't actually spoken in... days, maybe, which shows in his voice, rough and low. He clears his throat, tries again. "Just stay still. Place looks abandoned..."
A glance around, Sight showing sharp orange lines through most of the walls, and he tries not to look at the really extremely bright gold as he does. Either the house is abandoned or really poorly kept.
He's just glad that they're so out of it and he can use the Sight like this, because after the Eye (don't think about it-) Alex's eyes have lit up like Christmas lights whenever he uses the Sight, and even the shadows of his hood can't hide that.
Right. First step; keep glowy stranger from dying. Alex carries a medkit with him, but- eyeing those wounds- he's not sure he'll have enough of what he needs.
He's normally patching himself up, not other people.
Still, he unclasps the medkit from his belt, flipping open the satchel and then setting it aside within easy reach as he leans a little closer, trying to examine the actual injuries more closely.
Since the Temple and everything that came after, Alex has been drifting. He had expected to die- and hadn't. He'd come to the end of his story, and then gone past it, and... what's he supposed to do, with that? What does he do with living?
So, as he has always done when uncertain, he travels.
He'd stolen some rich bastard's motorbike a city or two over, and has taken to cruising down old farm roads, out into the country, until he can almost pretend it's a hundred years ago and he's nothing but a drifter.
He doesn't realize that he's been following anything until he pulls to the side of the road a few dozen meters from a run-down house, something tugging at his Sight, insistent.
And, well... it hasn't led him wrong yet.
He hides the bike in some scrub off the road, walks the rest of the way to the house, low and quiet- catches a scent of blood. Strong. Recent, and lots of it.
That's... never a good sign.
It's easy to follow the blood trail, and whoever's at the other end is either dead by now or on their way to it, which is only confirmed when Alex finds the body... oh. No, they're breathing.
He kneels down by them, reaching out to take their pulse and dipping into the Sight by habit-
And he flinches back as gold so bright it's literally blinding emits from the stranger, hissing softly in pain and blinking the afterimages away. Fuck, that was like looking at the sun.
There had been a thick haze of violet around them, too, but Alex hadn't had a chance to get a clear look, and he's not risking that again; once was more than enough, thanks.
Okay. That explains why the Sight was so insistent. Alex has never seen so much gold at once before.

"F-Fuck..."
Leaving a blood trail was never his intention, but his strengthened immunity to the Bliss unlike others, mostly because of his prolonged time in it to get used to it, had caused him to take more shots than necessary by his flock- the cult.
His brothers' cult now really.
Entering a nearby home he was thankful that, for the time being, it was empty.
No Resistance, no cult.
A blessing in his eyes, if he had to be honest.
But now, bleeding out with no chance of recovery... Well, it was only a matter of time until he died.
Sliding against a corner, no weapons on him he tried his best to stay awake but that was in vain...
He prayed that whoever entered the home next was not an enemy of some kind...

KIT
Dress; He's worn a lot of things across the centuries, but his modern ensemble is fairly simple; dark grey jeans, dark brown combat boots, dark brown fingerless gloves, a black tank top and a white overcoat with a pointed hood. He also has a red scarf he wears in colder environments. More casually, he prefers a loose t-shirt, sweat pants, and converse, all in neutral colors. Weapons/Tools; Given what he does, he carries a large variety of equipment on his person, everything from lockpicks to throwing knives to an extendable crowbar and a length of rope. Most are kept in various hidden pickets, but he keeps the crowbar and a swiss army knife on his belt. He also carries a gun, but he dislikes using it. And, of course, he has his hidden blade on his left arm. He used to wear two, but replaced the one on his right with a grappling-hook launcher when buildings started getting too far apart to jump across. Skills; Again, anything to do with stealth, deception, or misdirection. Also, thievery and parkour. He's become fairly adept at wilderness survival, finessing government information databases, and forging various documents. He's relatively new to hacking, but is picking it up quickly.
BACKSTORY This is so long. I apologize in advance.
He was born in Masyaf, the year of 1163. Like most children born there, he was raised and trained to be an Assassin, and advanced quickly through his training.
He was on track to become a Master Assassin the year of 1191, at 28 years old, when Al Mualim used the Apple to try and control all the Assassins in Masyaf. This resulted in Alex's first death, as he fought the effects of the Apple, and the activation of his previously dormant Isu heritage. -> This is why Alex looks perpetually like a very tired 28 year old.
Altaïr, once he assumed the role of Mentor, granted Alex the title of Master Assassin.
Alex stayed with Masyaf for several more years, until Altaïr's death in 1257, after which Alex had nothing left tethering him to that place, and so he wandered.
He traveled through Turkey and Greece, eventually arriving in Italy in 1451. Those nearly two hundred years of traveling were very rough, as Alex learned the limits and benefits of his new abilities.
Though Alex was in a pretty rough state by the time he reached Italy, he met Giovanni Auditore by chance, who helped him out. This is why Alex stayed to help Ezio even after Giovanni's death; he felt he had to repay that debt of kindness, even though Alex was Giovanni's friend and didn't know Ezio all that well yet.
Alex and Ezio only really started bonding by the time of Brotherhood, when Alex could finally get it through his head that Ezio'd come into his own and grown past just being 'Giovanni's son'. Alex really came to respect Ezio as a Mentor and as a friend.
Despite this, when Ezio gets ready to travel to Masyaf, Alex says his goodbyes and leaves, because he can't bear to go back to Masyaf again. This takes place around 1511.
Once more traveling, he journeyed through France, Spain, and Morocco, eventually ending up on a ship bound for the West Indies around 1712.
Shortly after arriving, Alex encountered a ship carrying slaves, and rather objected to that by murdering the captain, then helping the slaves break their chains and take over the ship. There was some awkwardness at first, both parties side-stepping around each other, until Alex made it clear that he had no desire to be a Captain or in command at all, that this ship was theirs, not his. After that, things were a lot more comfortable, and they offered him a place aboard her so long as he was in the West Indies. -> They also asked him to name her, and he chose Huriya, feeling it apt. Any vehicle he owns after, he also calls Huriya, in memory.
The Huriya became a rather infamous pirate ship around the West Indies, sailing the seas and freeing slaves wherever they could. This was how Alex met Adewale, and, later, Edward Kenway, somewhere around 1715.
Alex and Edward did not get along at first, and it was only Adewale vouching for him that kept Alex from killing Edward outright. Later, however, they did develop a mutual respect, though it never really developed into a friendship. Later still, this mutual respect would keep Alex from killing Edward's son, Haytham Kenway.
By 1754, the Huriya had traveled far and wide, becoming something of a seafaring legend, but Alex had grown tired of life at sea, and so she and her crew dropped him off in Boston.
Alex and Haytham met here, which was very tense but did eventually lead to a rather productive conversation that had them forming a very reluctant and begrudging mutual respect. -> This was also where Alex started unlearning his black-and-white worldview, and what prompted him to reevaluate his principles.
Eventually, that mutual respect grew into an actual friendship, if a rather unconventional one that involved occasional attempted murder and weapon theft.
Connor threw a wrench into things, a bit. On one hand, Connor's presence was a way to start reviving the Colonial Brotherhood, but on the other hand, Alex was friends with a Templar... and Connor's father. That complicated the situation. -> Alex is the reason Haytham knew he had a son.
At first, things seemed to be going well, and Alex started to hope for an alliance between Assassins and Templars, or at the very least a more long-term truce, a pause or even an end to the ancient war. When that started falling apart, Alex started to crumble with it.
With Haytham's death in 1781, Alex- having lost faith in himself, his beliefs, and his Creed- left America entirely, ending up back in France just in time to get caught up in another Revolution, in 1789.
Through watching Arno Dorian's journey to Mastery, Alex gradually regained his confidence and sense of self, and over time the two formed a casual friendship. They'd started to drift apart by the time Arno arrived in Saint Denis in 1794, however, and after an explosive fight over what to do about the Apple, Alex left again. -> This was about where Alex started to realize the dangerous draw that Pieces of Eden could have on him.
As had become a habit when trying to reorient himself after being metaphorically beat over the head with a worldview adjustment, he went traveling, this time up through England and Scotland, over to Ireland, and then back around to England, arriving in London in 1868.
Inevitably, he met the Frye twins, and he followed them as they crashed through London like a tidal wave. As he became closer with them, he began to regain his drive to live. -> He ended up teaching them a lot of what he knew, which was where he discovered a new reason to keep going; mentoring.
He left again as things started going bad, unable to bear what he'd built for himself collapsing around him again, and left London in 1888 to travel back to America.
He kicked around America and Mexico during the last days of the Wild West, and when he started realizing that another era was dying, he was tempted to run again... but he was tired of running, and he made a promise instead; no more leaving.
So he stayed in the Americas, watching them grow and change, training new Novices and doing his best to be true to his calling and himself.
In 2012, he could feel the Temple activating, and he traveled there just in time to offer to take Desmond's place using the Eye. Desmond, who knew Alex from seeing him in his ancestor's memories, agreed.
Alex assumed that using the Eye would finally kill him for good, and he could think of no better way to go out than protecting others. He had hoped he could finally rest and be reunited with those he had left behind in what comes after.
As we know, though, nothing ever really works out how you expect.
As for what happens next... who knows?

On Immortality
In short, this is to keep track of how Alex's immortality works and some effects it has. It also details how his Eagle Vision works, and how Pieces of Eden affect him.
TW: mentions of gore, death, and mind-control
ON DYING He can die, but he'll resurrect anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes later. The upper limit for how long he'll stay dead is an hour.
-> Resurrecting will heal all the wounds he currently has, as his body regrows/knits itself back together. -- -> If an arrow or blade made the wound and is still in, then it won't be healed. -- -> If bullets are still in the wound, they will be healed over. -- -> Small amounts of particulates will be dissolved, but anything larger than a thumbnail will not be and will be healed over.
-> Though the wound may be healed, the pain doesn't go away. -- -> This can manifest in a number of ways; for example, a bullet to the head will leave him with a migraine, while dying of poison can give him anything from a bit of nausea to a bad stomachache to a fever of varying intensity. -- -> Limbs that were removed and regrown will feel sort of numb for anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours after. -- -> The pain usually lasts at least an hour, and can last for days in the case of particularly traumatic or slow deaths.
-> Unlike his body, his clothes will not fix themselves. This is occasionally awkward.
ON HEALING He heals faster than most baseline humans, even without a hard reset (what he uses to refer to dying to heal himself quickly).
-> Only things that kill him and particularly traumatic injuries leave scars, otherwise there wouldn't be any inch of skin without scarring. A death doesn't always leave a scar; he's not sure what the pattern is. -- -> Interestingly, his face doesn't scar as often as the rest of him, despite the fact that he's been shot in the head a lot.
-> His body rejects skin grafts, organ transplants, and blood transfusions. -- -> In a similar vein (heh), anything like a metal implant for a broken bone will actually hinder him rather than help, and will cause him continual agonizing pain as his body tries to reject it.
-> Using skin, organs, or blood from him to try and help someone else will not work, as anything taken from him will necrotize unnaturally quickly. -- -> Immortality is not transferable. People have tried; nobody's come back yet when what they take from him inevitably kills them.
ON IMMUNITY He has a higher immunity to most things, including a high alcohol tolerance. This is not always a good thing.
-> Very rarely does a wound actually get infected. -- -> It will get infected if exposed to contaminated water, if a poisoned weapon made the wound, or through prolonged contact with unsanitary substances or materials. -- -> It will not get infected just from ambient bacteria.
-> He won't catch diseases or get sick. -- -> He can get sick if deliberately poisoned, however.
-> Most poisons are not as effective on him, though they may result in a bout of nausea or sickness, as noted above. -- -> The effective ones result in a slow, miserable, painfully unpleasant death, even if the poison is supposed to be fast-acting or painless, because his body fights it.
-> Like poisons, the majority of drugs are far less effective. -- -> In particular, he's nearly completely immune to drugs that alter, influence, or control the mind. -- -> This includes painkillers and paralytics. -- -> Strangely, most sedatives are still effective, though a somewhat higher dose than usual is needed and they take effect slower. -- -- -> Stun weapons have a similar delayed effect; though each hit will slow him down a fair bit, it takes a few to really put him down. -- -- -> The only really effective way to put him down fast is using some kind of tazer or electric shock, or hitting him over the head really hard.
ON RESILIENCE He's sturdier than most baseline humans, and can take more punishment before he starts losing functionality.
-> He still bruises and cuts just as easily, but he can fall farther and get hit harder without significant damage.
-> He's less likely to sprain, strain, or twist something. -- -> Despite this, he's much more flexible than most, and can dislocate most of his joints far more easily. -- -- -> He's capable of doing this on purpose when necessary.
-> His bones are harder to break entirely, but they're more likely to crack or fracture and heal wrong without him noticing.
ON SENSES His senses are more enhanced than baseline humans, especially his sight, not to an extreme degree but still noticeable.
-> Touch; he's more able to tell subtle differences in texture. -- -> This helps with finding hidden seams, buttons, and inscriptions.
-> Taste; he's better at deciphering individual flavors. -- -> This makes telling if food or drink has been tampered with easier, and combined with his system, makes it tricky to poison him.
-> Smell; he's more able to pick up on faint scents, especially blood. -- -> This also makes it much easier to tell if food or drink has been laced with something.
-> Hearing; he's better at deciphering sounds from farther away, and more likely to accurately tell the direction it came from. -- -> This is especially true when he's focusing using the Sight (also known as Eagle Vision).
-> Sight; even without Eagle Vision, his eyes are sharper, able to pick out detail from farther away. -- -> He's also more observant of small clues or details, and is better at spotting camouflage. -- -> He has better night vision, as well.
ON EAGLE VISION Also known as 'the Sight'.
-> Traditional Eagle Vision has four shades; blue for ally, red for enemy, gold for objective/target/important, and white for safe spots, hiding places, and unconventional parkour paths. -- -> Alex's jacked-up version has a few more shades; purple for supernatural/paranatural/spiritual influences, green for people who can help him that aren't necessarily allies, and a sort of orange for structural weaknesses. -- -- -> His Sight also doesn't just show what is, it can also show a trail of where someone was in a series of echo-like afterimages.
-> It can enhance his other senses if he focuses, like his hearing.
-> It also enhances his reflexes and instincts, giving him an almost uncanny, unnatural feeling to the way he moves. -- -> When combined with adrenaline, it can alter his perception to make it seem almost like time has slowed, giving him a few more precious seconds to react.
-> When used while up high, it gives him a sort of mental awareness of the surrounding area. -- -> It's also sort of like the way birds navigate during migration; he always knows exactly where he is, unless he's been knocked out and moved to a place he's never been before.
-> As he's gotten older and more adept with the Sight, using it has become harder to hide, as it causes his eyes to gleam golden.
ON PIECES OF EDEN Isu artifacts left behind from the fall of their civilization.
-> He reacts rather differently to them than most anyone else, due to the high percentage of Isu DNA in him; they both respond more obediently to him and are more likely to try and overtake his will. He is both more and less susceptible to them. -- -> The weapons (the swords, spears, scepters, etc) will perform far better in his hands than anyone else's, and have almost no hold on his mind or will. -- -> The tools (shards, keys, shrouds, etc) will be more versatile in his hands, but less compatible and harder to use than the weapons. They get into his head pretty easily, but are equally easy to ignore when they do. -- -> The data caches are easy and intuitive to use for him, and have no 'tricks' like the other tools. -- -> Some, like the Apples and the Crystal Orbs, are both the most intuitive/easiest for him to use and the hardest for him to resist the influence of.
-> I imagine they're sort of like sirens to him; a beautiful temptation, but more likely to eat him (subsume his free will) than actually help him in any way. -- -> He wants to collect all of them and hide them away from human hands, though this is equal parts hubris, fucked up Isu bullshit making him possessive, and self-sacrificial tendencies.
-> When he holds a Piece of Eden, the skin in contact with it and around it will reveal delicate golden patterns not unlike circuit boards. When he uses a Piece of Eden, these patterns will glow.

HOW IT WORKS;
Now, it's important to note that Assassin's Creed is where Alex began and it's where he'll return to in the end.
Less dramatically, this is less a multiverse blog and more of an Assassin's Creed blog disguised as a multiverse blog.
What that means is that Alex being an Assassin is always a constant; this sometimes manifests in different ways, but usually it means that he's lived out his AC story before something happens that results in a crossover. Usually, I use the Eye as the catalyst for this, as that's where Alex's story ends in the AC verse.
Regardless, I've chosen four 'main' verses to put here, the ones that I write Alex in most often. These are only a baseline, however; I can work Alex into just about anything I'm familiar with, and sometimes even things I'm not!
Please note that these aren't for explaining the game/show/etc itself, this is just explaining how Alex fits into them.
That said, the verses themselves are below the cut.
-
verse : the promise is in the point of the blade | Assassin's Creed
I won't go into detail about his story here, that belongs in his bio, but the long and short of it is that Alex has an unusually high percentage of Isu DNA, which, when activated by someone using a Piece of Eden on him, has some unusual effects.
One of these is immortality, after a fashion. He doesn't age, and won't die naturally, though he can still be killed- even if it won't stick.
Due to this immortality, and the now-endless time on his hands, Alex travels around the world and ends up in the background/sidelines of most of the events of the games.
I've played at least partway through most of them, so I can run pretty well with just about anything.
[BIO]
-
verse : nothing has ever lived that will not die | Destiny 2
This one meshes nicely with AC because of the way Alex dies his first final death in that storyline.
Alex doesn't remember everything, but he remembers most of it. Definitely enough to be pissed at being alive again.
This one's pretty flexible, because Alex could be the Young Wolf but generally I prefer him as a former Warlord. Either way, just let me know what works best for you!
[BIO]
-
verse : the flightless blind venturing out into the dark | Star Trek Online
I've toyed with several different ideas for this one, from a Romulan to one of Khan's Augments, but in the end I settled on a Joined Trill. This makes it somewhat difficult to mesh his AC lore in, but in the end I decided he's still an Assassin, just not an immortal one. He still has the training, instincts, and reflexes.
Theoretically I could cast Alex in just about any role, but I went for a Starfleet Captain; he's in command of the U.S.S. Alsafar.
I'm fairly familiar with most of the shows, but I chose Star Trek Online as the 'base verse', so to speak, because it's timeline is easier to fuck around with. Also, most of my notes on Alex in this verse are through the lens of Star Trek Online.
Still, I could probably shuffle things up fairly easily, especially because time travel is a thing, so I could work with most anything!
[BIO]
-
verse : names mean nothing to the dead | Apocalypse Media
Another that meshes well with Assassin's Creed, in that Alex waking up to a very different Earth after using the Eye is such a fun thing to write and something I contemplate often.
This one is more of a generic apocalypse verse than something for a specific media, but it should be easily enough adjusted to anything needed, such as Walking Dead, Fallout 4, or Horizon Zero Dawn- all of which are very different kinds of apocalyptic but still all equally easily compatible.
Disclaimer; of those, I'm only familiar with Fallout 4 and HZD, though I'm currently reading the Walking Dead comic. Honestly, I don't have much experience with zombie media because I find it more enjoyable to write than read, but I know the general principles.
[BIO]
verse : there must be blood and this I knew (I believe there must be wonders too) | Other
This is for any other verses that may end up being written in! They'll be added here as they come up. They may or may not get their own tags if they're written in often, too.

// Hi! I'm Jack. This is the pinned post for nexusnox, and has my rules, a link to Alex's bios and verses, and a taglist. It also has a list of potential triggers you may find here.
"Here's to the ones to let shine through the rain; The ones who stood for something more, we won't forget your names. The tide is high, say goodbye, we're setting sail; And all those midnight secrets told, we'll take 'em to the graves."

RULES
Communicate!! My #1 rule for rp is communication. If you're upset, want to change something, just having fun- please tell me!
My memory is worse than a goldfish's. Literally. Please don't hesitate to remind me of things! In fact, please remind me of things. Help. What day is it.
Godmodding: don't do it. If you absolutely need something to happen, see rule #1. Also, please tell me if I accidentally do this!
My muses are fickle, stubborn, and uncooperative. I can only do so much to wrangle them. As such, my replies can be sporadic and unpredictable- but I will do my best to reply asap!
I have anxiety. So much anxiety. Please be patient with me.
I tend to write very stream-of-consciousness, with many asides and tangents, which often results in long, multi-paragraph replies. Don't feel pressured to match me, although too many one line replies tend to sap my motivation.
Assume my muses come from a different canon than yours. By which I mean; relationships, motivations, circumstances and even experiences may be different than you expect.
On shipping; it's great! It's fun! Talk to me first. As long as it fits my muse, odds are I'll be happy to ship, but I prefer to talk it out first. Also, as a multishipper, I rarely do 'exclusive' ships.
On NSFW; I don't mind it, but I'll probably do a fade to black to keep anything too spicy off this blog. However, I'm fine with something more explicit in dms.
Check the potential triggers, and if you need something tagged, let me know. Also tell me if I tagged something incorrectly!
Last but not least, be kind and have fun!

BIOS: [X] VERSES: [X]
Potential Triggers; Violence, death, discussions of death and trauma, possible descriptions of panic attacks, occasional unreality.
PLEASE NOTE; Alex's backstory means he is incredibly apathetic to the concept of dying, as it doesn't stick for him, and he will end his own life if he finds it more convenient to do so. While he- and I (as someone who has been suicidal)- don't see this as suicide, more like turning a computer off and on again, it may be triggering to you. Please take care of yourselves!
TAGLIST;

Our dried voices, when We whisper together Are quiet and meaningless As wind in dry grass Or rats' feet over broken glass In our dry cellar
Shape without form, shade without colour, Paralysed force, gesture without motion; Those who have crossed With direct eyes, to death's other Kingdom Remember us-if at all-not as lost Violent souls, but only As the hollow men
- The Hollow Men, T S Eliot
