More than once I’ve seen the inheritance cycle referred to as star wars with dragons

And I’m like,

1) stories can have similar plots without being ripoffs

2) what exactly is wrong with star wars and dragons that you think this is a bad thing

it bothers me that you often don't really hear about people having a "favorite album" the way they might have a favorite movie or favorite video game

So, it's finally grown on me that it's not exactly practical to have my main being a fandom blog for a fandom im not even really in anymore, so. Im going to move to @newtwithinternet with all the stuff. @newtwithstorage (this one) will stay for an unknown amount of time as something of a, well, storage, i guess

i say this with love: yall will make yourselves feel bad about fucking anything, i swear to god. you feel bad about feeling too much. you feel bad about feeling too little. you feel bad about what makes you feel good. you feel bad about not knowing what you like. you feel bad for not being able to survive easily in a world hostile to you. you feel bad for the tactics that you use to survive. you feel bad for how you identify. you feel bad for being unique. you feel bad for experiences that you share with millions of people. you suspect that every feeling, experience, desire, fear, and question in your brain is somehow evidence that you don't deserve to exist.

i can be so so reassuring about all of these things but ultimately you are the one that's gonna have to make a conscious choice to stop measuring yourself in these ways. there is no authority who gets to determine whether you have the right to exist or not. you already do. there is no body that votes on whether you get to feel, identify, or think as you do. you already do. your existence as it is is non-negotiable. stop trying to justify yourself. you're already here. the world is going to have to deal with it anyway.

What if Morzan's dragon was blood-related to Saphira and/or Thorn? Virvada was crimson, Morzan's was crimson, mayhaps... probably not, but it would be cool to see a dragon grapple with being related to a Nameless one.

I wish people realized what a waste it is that they're not putting butches in their things. So often I see a male character and think if he was a butch woman he'd be the best female character of all time

I'm sorry, but I adamantly disagree.

This is very good behavior.

They didn't recognize the file extension.

They didn't recognize the EXE program.

And so they refused to open them.

That is excellent internet security hygiene.

They went to a trusted person (their brother) and verified WinRAR was legit and then proceeded to unpack the files.

How is this not *encouraging* for gen alpha? Is it just because they didn't know what WinRAR was? Who cares? I'm just proud they were being careful.

Unlike my boomer uncle who once installed so many spam search toolbars that there was no screen real estate left to show webpages.
