This has been something that has been coming for awhile, and we are sure most, if not all, have felt this. Despite the sudden disappearance of admins, all taking hiatuses for various reasons, it was not an easy decision for us to make. We are not happy to give up a project we were all so passionate about, but we do not have the time, or mental energy to upkeep as admins. And it is not fair to any of you to expect any of you to do the same.
There is nothing but appreciation, gratitude, and love for all of you that were involved, and stayed involved even when we were unable to meet it with our own time and efforts. This was something that we wanted to get off the ground, and it finally did with unfortunate timing. We all got far too unexpectedly busy, and overloaded in our lives to dedicate ourselves in the way we wanted. But we wanted to stay fair to you all, give you actual word on where we all were, and what was going on, so you could move forward in your own decisions with your characters and yourselves.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and dedication.

Character Age
18(ish), I would like to have him as a senior in HS or just graduated.
Suggested FC’s
Colin Ford, Dylan Sprayberry
Location:
Rockdale
Character Description
I am very open to change and suggestion, so if you are reading this and think that maybe you may be able to fill this spot MESSAGE ME I WOULD SO EXCITED. :D
***
When Jordan’s parents died, he was left to care for his younger brother. They don’t get along very much because Jordan was left to take over as his little bro’s primary caregiver and pseudo parent. The brother/parent relationship is an odd one for them and Jordan has been his brother’s primary caregiver since his brother was about 14 and Jordan was 22.
I imagine that when they were young they were close but as Jordan got older and got involved in a lot of new things, be it the drugs or his relationship with his ex, they drifted apart.
When their parents passed away, Jordan became angry with them for dying (which left him to care for his brother, and unable to move away from Lanford) a much different reaction than I imagine his brother to have had. I can see his brother being very upset and and these differences in coping split their relationship either further. In time I can imagine them sorta getting over their differences and being able to be around each other, since they live in the same house, but I can imagine them having a tension that is ever present when they are around each other. Especially because Jordan tried to parent his brother in absence of his parents and the dynamic was detrimental to their relationship.
This headcanon I have is up for debate but I thought it would be interesting to have Jordan’s brother starting to work for him in the drug business and shit going down there and his brother kind of being a little badass when it comes to that kind of stuff. Jordan would eventually have to come around to letting his brother work with him, because he wants his brother to stay out of it. But I imagine something would happen that his brother would do to prove to him that he was worthy of working for him, and then Jordan would be like damn, and yeah.

EMILIJA ARTA IRBE
Age & Birthdate: October 22nd, 1991 (25)
Birthplace: Providence, Rhode Island
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Lesbian
Location: Lafayette Boulevard
Occupation: High School Guidance Counselor
Length of Time in Newshore: 7 years
↪ BIOGRAPHY
Em grew up in a house with her mother and her maternal grandmother, who she affectionately refers to as Vecmate. The two women always created an environment where Em felt that she could be proud of who she is. Whether it be about her sexuality or just who she was as a person, Emilija’s never felt embarrassed or ashamed. Her grandparents immigrated from Latvia to the United States together when they were in their early 20s, though Em never got to meet her grandfather; he died while her mother was pregnant with her. Latvian was spoken around the house just as much as English when she was growing up. Her parents met in high school, and, though Em’s mother felt very much in love with him, her father disappeared and abandoned her shortly after he found out she was pregnant just after they graduated. She has a huge resentment for this man she’s never met, and can still tell just by looking at her mother how deeply he hurt her. Growing up, the trio traveled to Latvia for about two weeks every summer to visit family there. She loved it, not only because she got to spend time with her cousins (the closest thing to siblings, something Em always desperately wanted but never had), but also because it instilled a strong love for travel and adventure in her.
It was clear by the time Emilija was 7 that school was not her forte. It wasn’t that she wasn’t smart, more so that she had trouble sitting through classes, studying things she wasn’t interested in, and learning on someone else’s time table. Her 2nd grade teacher recommended dance lessons to help get some of her energy out, and just like that, she was hooked. Emilija’s always felt an incredible passion about her art, though she hasn’t danced much since she graduated high school.
Emilija moved to Newshore when she started her freshman year at the University of San Francisco, but she absolutely loved the area, so much so that she decided to stay after she graduated. She’d never planned on going to college in the first place, but Em knew that she never would have gotten through school if it weren’t for the help of guidance counselors guiding her through it, and so it became somewhat a goal of hers to do the same for other kids. She got a job at a local high school shortly after she graduated, and Em loves every second of it.
She met Lydia about three years ago in school, and she fell hard and fast. Whether it was the other woman’s confidence about just about everything, or her complete lack of desire to please anyone around her, Em didn’t know, but it was certainly the fastest she’d ever found herself in a long term relationship. She’d had relationships before this, but something about it seemed so much more serious and real with Lydia, and maybe that’s why she was blinded by what had been going on behind her back. Everything had been going great, in her mind, until she walked in on her girlfriend of 2 years with another woman. Devastated and confused, Em demanded Lydia explain. After a night of talking, it was clear that something had been going on for longer than Em realized. She broke up with the woman the next morning, and has barely heard about her since.
A little over a year, just after her break-up with Lydia, she got a devastating call from her mom that her grandmother had fallen ill. She dropped nearly everything at once, leasing her apartment in Lafeyette Boulevard and taking an indefinite sabbatical from work and flying home to help her mother deal with everything. She’s not sure she’ll ever forget the day that she died, no amount of preparation could have eased the devastation that accompanied her death. She’s just moving back to Newshore now, and she’s more than thrilled to forget about the sad and hang out with all her old friends once again, she certainly needs it after the year she’s had.
Triggers in biography: Death
↪ PERSONALITY
Emilija always prides herself on being a positive person, though this trait sometimes keeps her from seeing the bad in other people. She truly wants to believe everyone has a little good in them, and is determined to get it out of them somehow. Her optimism, however, often comes with a bit of stubbornness, and it sometimes takes her too long to lose faith in someone because of this. She’s very outspoken about her feelings and is always willing to stand up for a friend. She tends to be a bit free spirited, which often comes off as careless or irresponsible, but she swears she just likes to have a good time!

AUGUST JAMES CLEARY
Age & Birthdate: April 14th, 1992 (25)
Birthplace: Limerick, Ireland
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Pansexual
Location: Playa Vista
Occupation: Bartender at Lounge
Length of Time in Newshore: 4 years
↪ BIOGRAPHY
August James Cleary was born in Edinburg, Scotland during its coldest winter to date. His parents lived simple lives; his mother Elspeth, a teacher for the deaf, and his father Hamish, a postman. They lived in a modest house, identical in exterior to every other house on their street. All his life Gus was very quiet; he rarely made a sound as a baby, and hardly could be heard as a child. In that awkward phase between childhood and the teenage years, Gus discovered an old guitar in the attic that once belonged to his grandfather. From the moment he laid eyes on it, Gus knew he wanted to know everything about it. His father was more than happy to pass on this piece of family history. Music became a huge part of Gus’s life, it brought him out of his shell and gave him the courage to be a bit bolder and outgoing. This new sense of confidence came in handy when Gus started middle school and met a boy named Peter. The two boys became best friends right off the bat. They were inseparable, and completely unaware that there was more between them than just friendship. Neither really understood Peter’s parents were furious the day his mother found a love letter from Gus in Peter’s room. They were both thirteen, on the cusp of becoming men, and beginning to realize what it meant to love someone. His mother burst into tears, begging God to help her son, while his father ordered Peter to stay away from Gus. Gus didn’t understand why his best friend suddenly wouldn’t talk to him, why he ignored his calls, why he won’t even look at Gus. He cornered Peter one day, desperately looking for answers. In a panic, Peter hit him. He punched Gus, leaving his eye black and blue. As if that weren’t enough, he kicks Gus while he’s down, again and again until Gus could barely breathe. Peter calls him names, horrible, cruel names. He tells Gus he never wanted him, never loved him, and leaves him bruised and bloodied on the ground. The rumors start shortly after that, and Gus Cleary becomes a pariah at school. They call him terrible things, they call him gay, but it wasn’t true, not really. Gus had always liked girls, he just happened to like Peter, too. It didn’t matter, though. His feelings were more than enough for the kids at school to use against him.
Gus’ father suggested changing schools, but in the end the Cleary family relocated to New York. The city was quite possibly the best place for someone like Gus. He needed an escape, a chance and place to start over, and New York was full of people just like him. So Gus threw himself into his music and his art, and over time it became easier to forget the pain he’d come to know. He met Kieren Parker a month later, and Kieren’s parents ended up hating Gus too, and again, it’s over things that Gus cannot change. The only difference is Kieren doesn’t listen. He doesn’t care what his parents think, he likes Gus, he gets on with Gus. “Don’t worry about them. My parents hate everyone, even me.” Kieren told him with a shrug. Through Kieren, Gus met Anna, Kieren’s lifelong friend. She’s wonderful, and she is kind, and never once does Gus even consider either relationships as anything more than platonic. He won’t make that mistake again, he’s smarter this time, he’s careful. He won’t let things end the way they did with Peter. However, as time passed, Kieren and Anna prove their worth. When Gus finally opens up to them about his past, about his sexuality, and what he’s been through— nothing changes between them, and Gus knows that this time it’s for real. This time he’s found a group of friends that he knows he’ll have for life.
They form a trio, an unbreakable bond, an unstoppable team. The three of them enter high school together, and Gus earns the reputation of the silver-tongued Scottish kid, the one in the leather jacket, the one who smells of smoke and danger, and drives all the girls wild. He somehow manages to be a bad boy and still maintain his heart of gold. And through all these years, Gus watches as Kieren and Anna find happiness together, and his faith in love is slowly restored. If the universe can put together the two people Gus cares most about, then surely it can’t all be bad. Following graduation a proposal comes next, and not long after that their trio becomes a quartet as Kieren and Anna welcome a baby into the world; a little girl by the name of Edith. And all the while, Gus is happier than he’s ever been, and more grateful than ever to be living such a wonderful life with people he’s come to call family. Three years pass, and Gus works hard to stay in the country, to stay in New York with his friends and his new, nearly perfect life. His parents return to Scotland to retire, when his parents are forced to return to Scotland. Living in a new place is hard enough, but living in New York was enough to put a guy in the poor house. Still, it doesn’t matter. Gus would do anything to stay right where he is, and even though it’s a struggle, it’s worth it to him.
Things are always prettiest just before the fall. Gus learns this in the middle of the night when the sound of a phone ringing jolts him awake. When a phone rings in the middle of the night it’s never anything good. This was no exception. When later asked about the details of that phone call, Gus couldn’t say. He was certain he blacked out somewhere between ‘heavy downpour’ and 'fatal’. Nothing really mattered besides that. Kieren and Anna, his best friends, his family… they were dead. They were gone. Things moved pretty fast after that. A week later, Gus watched as Kieren and Anna were buried together in a plot near the city. Gus watched as Kieren’s parents moved on without a word, they had parted ways with their son years before his death. Anna didn’t have much in the way of family, her parents had died when she was little, and her grandparents were in a retirement home somewhere in Florida. In all the madness, in all of the unforgiving heartbreak, Gus nearly forgets the one thing that was left, possibly the most important thing of all: He was Edith’s god-father. It was all Kieren and Anna had made plans for in the even that something were to happen to them. It seemed like such an innocent arrangement at the time, one that Gus agreed to over drinks with Kieren after he told Gus that Anna was expecting. Even if Gus didn’t know the first thing about being a parent, he wasn’t going to shy away from the challenge. He owed everything to Kieren and Anna, looking after Edith was the least he could do. Sure, he’d never be half the parents they would have been, but he was going to do whatever it took to make sure Edith was taken care of.
Unwilling to drag his parents into the chaotic whirlwind his life had become, Gus took Edith across the country to the town of Newshore to live with his aunt Lucille. She’s a lovely woman who is more than willing to help Gus in any way she can, and happily takes on joint custody of little Edith. Gus finds a place ten minutes from Lucille’s flat, and picks up a job at a bar in town. It’s a decent income, in an alright house, in a town where he can start over with Edith.
Triggers in biography: Homophobia & Death
↪ PERSONALITY
First and foremost, Gus is a quiet guy. That’s not say he can’t be big and loud, but that usually only happens once he really gets to know people. However, he isn’t the most outgoing either. Relationships, be they platonic or romantic or whatever, haven’t really gone well for Gus. Despite everything, Gus is a genuine person, with a big heart, and good intentions, but no one would guess that by his rugged appearance. Fatherhood, or god-fatherhood in Gus’s case, has definitely changed him for the better. Sure, he still smokes, he still drinks, he still goes out, but never to the point of it being detrimental to himself or especially to Edith. Gus is very conscious of his actions, what the result of them could be, and how they might affect Edith. He is constantly living with the voices of Kieren and Anna in his ear, guiding him along, helping him out, but mostly serving as a reminder of what Gus fears he’ll never live up to. He is very self-deprecating, and extremely hard on himself about everything. He knows he wouldn’t want Edith in the care of anyone else, but Gus can’t help but feel wildly inadequate. And not just with raising Edith, but in general. Gus often doesn’t care for the opinions of others, but occasionally feels the weight of the insecurities he’s stashed deep down. When things get too heavy, Gus goes back to his music, drowning out all the noise and the mess that fills his head.

MADISON JANE WALCOTT
Age & Birthdate: October 3rd, 1992 (24)
Birthplace: Baudette, Minnesota
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Location: Lafayette Boulevard
Occupation: Baker and owner of “Queen of Tarts”
Length of Time in Newshore: 20 years
↪ BIOGRAPHY
Madison Jane Walcott was born on October 3rd in Baudette, a small town in Minnesota. She lived in Baudette along her parents and older brother until she was 4 years old, when her father got transferred to Newshore. From a very early age, she was an energetic, easy going kid, growing up surrounded by love. The perfect family, some would think. When her family moved in town, they settled into a small neighborhood in Lafayette Boulevard , where they developed into strong, well adjusted kids. Madison has the best memories of her childhood.
When she was 17 years old, her parents divorced, once her father realized he was in love with another man. The news destroyed Madison’s mother, and altered the entire dynamic of the family. It was hard to understand how fast things could change. One day Madison was living with the seemingly perfect family, and the next she was packing her belongings to go live in a new place with her mother. She was devastated, choosing to distance herself from her father until she had made peace with everything going on. She didn’t blame him, but it was hard to look at him knowing how much her mother was hurting. That year also took a toll on her academics, almost failing her senior year. Luckily, her brother was there for her, not letting her give up.
Out of school, and still living with her mother, she tried to attend college. While she was never a very good student, she thought it was an experience she needed, and enrolled herself for a couple of courses, unsure on what to study. Though she enjoyed college for the most part, a year later she decided it was not the right path for her. She took a couple of shifts working at her mothers bakery shop, where things finally started to make sense. She had always loved baking, it was a hobby for most of her life, but she never thought it was something she could do for the rest of her life. When she found out her mother was dating again, she knew things were starting to change.
Slowly, she began to repair her relationship with her father, choosing to move out of her mother’s house to live with him and his partner, an attempt to patch things up. Living with him made her realize how happy he actually was, and her childish resentment was put behind. Her family was never perfect like she thought a few years back, but she understood some things were not meant to be. Both of her parents were now happy with other people, and that was all that mattered to her. In the meantime, her work at the bakery became more permanent, and soon enough she was there full-time.
Some time later her mother told her she was pregnant, and Madison really thought she was being pranked. Even more so, when she was informed that her mother was planning on stepping down from work to dedicate time to her new husband and baby. That’s when she was offered the ownership of the place, it was hers by right after all, something they had previously discussed. With the help of a good friend she made in college, ‘Queen of Tarts’ became hers, and she’s turned it into one of the best bakeries in Newshore.
↪ PERSONALITY
Everyone who knew Madison in Newshore would describe her the same way: A sweetheart. She always has a friendly smile on her face, whether it’s directed at a random on the street or when she’s working at her bakery. Her modest, and optimistic personality make her someone who relates and interacts with people without much conflict. She gets comfortable around people easily, and often serves as the ear everyone needs when they’re down. Though, not everything is positive when it comes to her, even if she might give off that impression when you first meet her. Sometimes she can be a little too naive, not knowing when to say no to those who need her help, and her tendency to ramble can get her in some trouble with those who despise small talk. Her enthusiastic nature can also turn her into a restless person, becoming a bit of a wildcard if she’s in an odd mood.

KATHERINE ROSE LANNISTER
Age & Birthdate: June 13th, 1990 (26)
Birthplace: Newshore, California
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Location: Rockdale
Occupation: Motivational Speaker
Length of Time in Newshore: Since birth
↪ BIOGRAPHY
Growing up in Newshore, California, Katherine Lannister was born into a troubled family, but you would of never known. Walking down the streets of Newshore, she always had a smile on her face and helped as many people as she could. Being the eldest of three, she always had her eyes on her younger brother and sister. By the age of 10, she grew to have a huge protective feeling over them. If anyone came close to touching them, she would be in front of them in seconds. Her love for them was strong and she loved her mother the same, but her father was a whole different story.
Starting at the age of 13, Kat was being molested and raped by her father. This lasted for four years. Her sister, brother, and mother were all being abused by her father. During these four years, her father made her do things she wasn’t ready to do. Doing these horrid things to her father made her think this was normal and every family had this same situation going on. Her father hit her mother, sister, and brother while she was his sex toy. While this was all happening, she and her siblings were going to school and getting a good education. School was her seven hours of freedom. She hated leaving school, her teachers, friends, and teammates.
At the age of seventeen and almost done with her sophomore year of high school, Kat couldn’t handle being beaten anymore. She wanted to tell her best friend about her situation, but her father knew her best friend’s dad was a police officer. He demanded she’d never see her friend again. After a few weeks, she told her best friend what was happening at home and she learned that her situation wasn’t normal and she wasn’t safe. It had to be done. She joined a local child advocacy center and they helped her immensely. In the matter of days, her father was arrested and it took her three trials until he was finally put in prison.
Beginning her junior year, Kat still couldn’t believe she was free from her father. Her family was safe and so was she. It didn’t take long for her to experience new things like drugs, alcohol, and other substances. With all those substances combined, her and her friend group stayed hip-to-hip. She liked all of them, but liked Jason the most. He had a certain dangerous edge to him that made her swoon. Of course, she’d never tell him that though. They had a great friendship before an incident happened between them. One night at a friends house, they all tried cocaine for the first time. Completely high off her ass, she couldn’t control herself and started being very annoying. She annoyed Jason the most and he got very angry at her. Next thing she knew she was fighting him and was instantly slapped in the face. After a few more pushes, Jason’s hands were on her throat and she couldn’t breath. Catching her breath after he realized what he did to her, she didn’t know what to think about him. When they all went home, that was the last night she saw him.
Recovering from the attack definitely took some time, but Kat made her senior year the best year yet. Ending high school, she decided to speak in front of all her classmates and tell them about her powerful story. When this happened, it felt like her community gave her a huge hug. All the support overwhelmed her and she finally felt free. Her mother was divorced from her father, her brother and sister were safe, and they were to never see their father ever again. Graduating from high school, she was on honor roll and was elected as the valedictorian. She told her story in front of 6,000 people and knew she wanted to make a difference in the world.
Attending a community college, Kat majored in communications. Two years later, she got a full-ride to the University of San Francisco and became a certified public speaker. At the age of 22, she graduated with her bachelors degree and her proud family by her side. Traveling around the world, she told her story to millions of people at thousands of high schools. She was an icon and a role model to many teenagers struggling with her same situation. Now at the age of 26, she’s been wanting to take a break after four years of traveling and decided to move back to Newshore. She got an apartment in Rockdale and is known as a famous wide-world motivational speaker.
Triggers in biography: drugs, physical abuse & sexual abuse
↪ PERSONALITY
Walking down the streets of Newshore, you can always find Katherine smiling. When someone is in need, she’s always there with a helpful hand. Growing up, she was closed off, insecure, reserved, and an introvert mainly at school. When she started to play sports like soccer and volleyball, she began to open up and make friends. By the end of her high school years, her classmates described her as brave, loyal, respectful, kind, honest, down to earth, and caring. She’s sweet and determined to protect her family and the people she loves and cares for. In the end, she wants to help people in need with a caring, loving smile on her face.
