NMA is recreating an abandoned garage as a high-performance modern home.
It is located on a large interior lot, formerly a church parking lot, a few miles from downtown Providence.
Two floors of living space will rise from the garage . . .
. . . connected by double-height mezzanines projecting from two sides.
Perforating the exterior with small windows combines natural light with privacy and allows for changing light patterns throughout the day.
Windows are carefully placed in order to avoid excess summer solar gain and glare . . .
