An anomaly sends Miles back in time to 1902, the day that Sean O'Brien is due to turn up dead in the Allegheny River.
---
Miles steps up to the pulpit and clears his throat. His eye is swollen shut, his lip thick, and he must look a right sight. He’s never been one for speeches, but he’s supposed to be Sean, at least for a few minutes more. “I don’t know what you all heard,” he says, and he tries to grin, “but I’m very much alive.”

Perception, Garak knew, was everything. It mattered far more than truth, however one defined that slippery concept.
For example, the perception that the room was moving around him. Spinning, endlessly. It was not the truth. There was nothing wrong with the station’s gravitational orbit. He knew this, and yet the perception of it kept him pinned to the floor.
For another example, the perception that Julian had abandoned him here.

Garak's implant starts leaking pergium into his brain while Julian is off saving lives on Teplan. Fortunately, he has more friends than he realizes.

Just after Ezri arrives on the station, Julian is up late drinking alone to nurse his grief. Then, Worf stops by.
Inspired by tashii's comment: "AU where instead of Jezri, Worf and Julian have a one night or several night stand in S7 to cope with their grief for Jadzia." With also a big helping of Garashir angst.

When he successfully sets up two of his crewmates with fake love letters, Julian Bashir starts to wonder if he has a flair for matchmaking. He certainly loves the warm feeling he gets from helping others, even outside of his role as the station's Chief Medical Officer. So when a new arrival makes her way to the station, Julian sees the potential for friendship -- and, perhaps, more opportunities to try out his new skills. What better way to help Ziyal fit in on DS9 than find her a partner! Garak thinks he's acting rather silly. And everyone wonders how Julian can see potential love all around him, but remain oblivious to the desires of his own heart. He'll get there, bit by bit, with a little help from his friends... and the collected works of Jane Austen.
Emma/Clueless AU of Garashir, set vaguely during season 4. Expect comedy, misunderstandings, and mutual pining all over!

Tonight is the 25th anniversary of The Setlik III Massacre.
And you, Miles O’Brien, are its hero.
At 19 years old, and in over your head, you'd managed to come out of the whole thing not just alive but with people wanting to stick medals on you, of all bloody things. And 25 years later, you’re 44 years old, and it’s all in the history books now. Though… you don’t feel like you are (a hero) or it ought to be (in any books). You just feel like you want it to leave you alone.
You’re 44 years old, but in many ways you’ll never really shake that 19 year old you once were…

The bustling streets of the promenade always filled Odo with unease. The tired bajorans shuffled by, staring at him with malice. He who was nothing, condemned to maintain order in this broken place.
He wasn’t nothing.
The Bajorians were a walking enigma to Odo. They lacked the ability to take control back of their lives, yet they insisted on fighting. Their government abandoned them, their people weak and suffering. They clung to their god. Worshiping endlessly for a hope of change. It was an act of honor to the bajorans, it was vile.
The Cardassians However, were more confusing then Anything else he had encountered. Their very breath clung to the pleasure they craved. Hoarse and too sweet. It reeked of Kanar. Odo despised them.
They chortled and laughed, giddy and high with power and excitement when Odo walked by. The bajorans feared him. They condemned him.
“Do the Neck trick again,” the name of the officer was last to Odo as he watched him giggle into his drink “One more time *hic* once more”
They were vile. ———————————————————
