First day back after reading week!! Finally got time to actually read a bit of The Prince, some of my professors saw me with it and were so excited to talk about it with me!

I'm so happy to finally have stuff to do again, having no classes always makes me feel so anxious because I'm not going anything productive. I need to learn how to allow myself to relax and enjoy time off.

Last day of reading week, just gotta make it through the weekend and I'll finally be back at school with work to keep me busy!! Although technically I should be busy with my overdue essay and required reading. Due to yesterday's ice storm all the snow is just a thick slab of ice. If only I owned ice skates, then I could get to the bus stop so much faster.

My name is Lys and I use they/them pronouns! I'm 19, Ojibwe - Canadian, and a first year English Language and Literature major with hopes to minor in German. My goal is to eventually become an English professor, author, journalist, or ESL teacher in Germany.

I'm going insane due to reading week. Since I'm woefully unemployed (the labour shortage must not be terrible considering no one will hire me) I never have the need or funds to go anywhere or do anything other than school, so any time without it has me pulling out my hair. In the dictionary there's a picture of me accompanying definition of "stir crazy" for the visual learners.

To stop myself from becoming the literal Joker from the movie Joker as a result of isolation, I went to a local used book store with dirt cheap prices and then got some drinks (much like androids dream of electric sheep, I dream of double vodka crans). At the book store I picked up Lynn Coady's Hellgoing since I read an excerpt from it in an anthology for class and just had to read more, as well as Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding. I should have done my essay and required reading, but I'm losing today's boxing match with my ADHD.
