Playing Coteries of NY right now and Kaiser's voice sounds an awful lot like Harlan Ellison while reading in my head.

Hollywood | Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Behind the spit-shine gloss of the Hollywood dream factory, there's another city churning out a vile by-product for the furtive consumption of a debauched audience.

You! You and Beckett figure out a way to open it. I need to know what's inside.

Beckett's such a funny character honestly. You pick up a cult classic RPG about secret vampire society and are introduced to feuding figureheads on what group should be in charge of the vampires in the area. Early on, you meet this guy who says aligning yourself with a faction is bullshit and that individualism is a path always worth taking. You are told explicitly that he's one of the only characters you can trust. He shows up now and again, cunts around the place in his little archeology get up, and leaves now and again. He's deadpan, hilarious, intelligent, and actively avoids telling you about himself past the broad strokes. You can clearly tell he's going to dip as soon as something more interesting comes up.
And then when you finish the game you're like "Wow! He was interesting. What's up with him?" and you find out he's one of Dracula's brides in the lore.
