My husband got into the Destiny Rising closed alpha, and his initial impressions are very positive. The game is still rough, but fun to play. It appears to take place early in the City age, when the Iron Lords are still running things. The Speaker is a hot anime girl.
I got excited, because imagine if you wound up pulling Andal Brask or Shaxx the Warlord as playable characters. Or what if Dredgen Yor and Shin Malphur are a storyline?
One of my friends quipped that in this universe, Dredgen Yor is an anime babe. I retorted that no, Shin Malphur would be. Three seconds of searching on Google provided images that might fit.
Dredgen Yor if he was an anime gunslinger villain in a gacha game. You know he's going to be a rare pull and everyone will want him.
So, here's Shin Malphur:
Absolutely a cute anime girl with a big gun.

It pretty much looks like everything Bungie has decided to never do in Destiny, such as adding hot chicks and making a fun game.
"why is bungie putting all the cool new stuff in destiny rising instead of fixing destiny 2" THAT'S NOT BUNGIE
DESTINY RISING IS DEVELOPED BY NETEASE
BUNGIE JUST GAVE THEM THE OKAY AND THE BASE SETTING
BUNGIE IS NOT IN CHARGE, NETEASE IS
IT'S NOT A BUNGIE GAME

Ten years of the Destiny fandom. Gosh, I don't even know all the folks who did this stuff anymore. I know that one Stephen guy's art, and I know there's Penny Arcade, but because NOBODY EVER SIGNS THEIR ART, I don't know who did the rest. Comment with the creators and I'll tag them!
Anyway, Destiny used to have such a vibrant, active fanbase. I went back through my files and it kind of made me sad to see the lack of any interest anymore.

Bungie needs to bring back all the vaulted content. Bam, Guardian loses all their powers in the Red War, starts from 1. Players would come screaming back and bring their friends to show them the content they loved. Funny how that's not on the table, though.
"Bungie needs to kill off The Guardian and start over with D3." "The Guardian needs to retire so we can start with a new character in Frontiers." "The Guardian is too overpowered, they need a story where they lose everything or get nerfed."
Bungie needs to stop stifling/firing their writers and find a better format than seasonal content. The issue isn't the story, it is the constraints on the narrative team. Yes, part of it is unavoidable due to Destiny's existence as an online FPS but they could be doing so much better.
And before you say, "You just don't want to lose your overpowered OC!": I'm actually basing this on feedback I heard during my Bungie tour. So.

Arden is from a tribe where the tradition is to decorate your horns with life achievements. Passage of adulthood, marriage, number of children, etc. So far he only has his coming of age horn ring, and he's looking forward to finding a nice girl to start adding the others. However, the Scions may persuade him to add an extra stud every time he completes an expansion, because saving the world is a pretty good life achievement. Also his horns are a close combat weapon, so he doesn't really care if someone touches them. Same with the tail. He has a spiked sheath for it for battle.
Au Ra WoLs - are their scales sensitive? Do they like having their horns touched? What about their tails? GIVE US YOUR AU RA LORE PLS

A poster I made for my Destiny 2: Final Shape fanfic adapt, Heart of Light, Shape of Darkness.
Jayesh accompanies the Vanguard inside the Traveler to stop the Witness from turning the whole universe to stone, aka the Final Shape. But once there, they discover Cayde-6 back from the dead, which causes a lot of unexpected friction between Zavala, Ikora, and Crow. But they must settle their differences before the Witness conquers the Traveler from the inside and brings the end of everything.
Basically it's the plot of the game, except the Traveler is about 1000% more badass.

This is freaking amazing and I love it.
10 years of my life, and I don't regret a second of it.
Thank you, Bungie.

Jayesh, meanwhile, had circled to flank and now sent a blast from his grenade launcher under the brig’s feet. The brig staggered and a siren of distress began to cry from it. Immediately the hiding aliens leaped out and tried to swarm the Guardians, attacking indiscriminately. Jayesh and Crow ran to each other and activated their Aegis shields, protecting each other’s flanks and firing in opposite directions. In addition, whenever the Fallen got too close, Jayesh threw out bursts of fire and lightning, frying their enemies to crisps.
--
I've been writing a fanfic adapt of the Final Shape and this was one of those very brief scenes that I badly wanted to draw. Also Jayesh's signature gun is Lumina, the healing gun, because of course it is.
