Youth accounted for 3,351 — or 78.5 per cent — of the 4,270 missing person reports filed in Saskatoon in 2023, according to a Board of Police Commissioners report released last year. The latest addition to Operation Runaway's toolbox is the Missing Youth Saskatchewan app, a project led by Egadz youth, that was launched two years ago. The app has cut down on pointless missing person reports, said Don Meikle, executive director at Egadz. He said a lot of kids — especially the chronic runaways — are simply breaking group home curfews or didn't check in on schedule, but are not in actual danger.

many cooking videos have those gimmicks like "$5 ramen vs $50 ramen" or "elevating your cooking" where the only thing they emphasize is using stupidly expensive ingredients. it's discouraging when you're an aspiring chef on a budget getting told the key is to just spend more money.

well my advice is that you look at some of the techniques they use on the "fancy" ingredients and literally just use them on your cheap ingredients. maybe you aren't deglazing your pan with fancy wine, but a splash of water will work. making a stew, cook the meat and onions first THEN add are the other ingredients. use both minced garlic and garlic powder together for a more complex garlic flavor. toast your dollar store spices. people have been making delicious cheap foods for thousands of years by understanding these tricks.

Fun thing about football right now is that there's a move called the "brotherly shove" that the Eagles do when they're very close to scoring, where the whole team puts their hands on the ass of the guy with the ball and physically propels him over the line into the endzone for the touchdown, and all the other teams' fans hate it because it's got such a ridiculously high rate of success for the Eagles and doesn't really seem to work for any other team. People are straight-up calling for this move to be banned, claiming it's "unstoppable" and gives an "unfair advantage" but it really and truly is a skill issue. The whole league hates this move because it only makes the Eagles win more often and nobody else can figure out how to do it right

I love having worked retail because now I know that if I walk into 99% of places and cheerfully say, "I have no idea how any of this works, can you explain it to me like I'm five?" and stay chipper while actually absorbing the information they give me, I'll probably be one of the best customers they get that day.
