A design for a 15,000-ton cruiser carrying 180 mm guns that was developed for the Soviet Navy at the end of World War II under a new shipbuilding program. The project was notable for its AA defenses, which were reinforced based on the experience gained during prior combat. Prince Pyotr Ivanovich Bagration (10 July 1765 – 24 September 1812) was a Georgian general and prince serving in the Russian Empire, prominent during the Napoleonic Wars.

Béarn was an aircraft carrier converted from an incomplete Normandie-class battleship for the Marine Nationale (French Navy) during the 1920s. Entering service in 1928, the navy intended to use her to develop tactics and techniques for carrier aviation. The only aircraft carrier France produced until after World War II, the ship played a minor role in the early stages of the war, training in home waters and conducting pilot training.
The ship is named after one of the traditional provinces of France, located in the Pyrenees mountains.

A typical Japanese destroyer that was built using the experience gained during World War I. She boasted a very high speed and powerful torpedo armament. The AA artillery, however, was very weak. Fūjin (風神, lit. "Wind God") or Fūten (風天, lit. "Heavenly Wind") is the Japanese god of the wind and one of the eldest Shinto gods. He is portrayed as a terrifying wizardly demon, resembling a red-headed green-skinned humanoid wearing a leopard skin, carrying a large bag of winds on his shoulders. In Japanese art, the deity is often depicted together with Raijin, the god of lightning, thunder, and storms. [source: Wikipedia]

The four Agano-class cruisers were light cruisers operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy. All were named after Japanese rivers. Larger than previous Japanese light cruisers, the Agano-class vessels were fast, but with little protection, and were under-gunned for their size (albeit with a powerful offensive torpedo armament, able to launch up to eight Type 93 "Long Lance" torpedoes in a salvo).  Completed on 31 October 1942, Agano participated in the battles for Guadalcanal and the Solomon Islands during 1943. Agano was badly damaged in Rabaul harbor by aircraft from the aircraft carriers USS Saratoga and USS Princeton, and in a subsequent attack by aircraft from TF38 on 11 November, she received a torpedo hit. Ordered to home waters for repair, she was torpedoed and sunk north of Truk by the US submarine USS Skate (SS-305), on 16 February 1944. [source: Wikipedia]

The Malta-class aircraft carrier was a British large aircraft carrier design for World War II. Four ships were ordered in 1943 for the Royal Navy, but changing tactical concepts, based on the American experience in the Pacific War, caused repeated changes to the design, which was not completed before the end of the war. All four ships were canceled in 1945 before they were laid down. [source: Wikipedia]

Entering service during World War II, she spent her career in the Pacific theatre. Placed in reserve following the war, Charette was transferred to the Kingdom of Greece in 1959 and renamed Velos (D16), remaining in service till 1991 before being preserved as a museum ship at Palaio Faliro, Athens.

USS Puerto Rico (CB-5) was a planned Alaska-class cruiser whose construction was canceled in 1943. They were officially classed as large cruisers (CB), but others have regarded them as battlecruisers. They were all named after territories or insular areas of the United States, signifying their intermediate status between larger battleships and smaller heavy and light cruisers.
Alaska and Guam served with the U.S. Navy for the last year of World War II as bombardment ships and fast carrier escorts. They were decommissioned in 1947 after spending only 32 and 29 months in service, respectively. The other planned ships were to be named after Hawaii, Philippines, and Samoa.

The Visby class was a Swedish World War II destroyer class.
During the first years of the War Sweden's armed forces went through a massive reinforcement. In 1941, as part of this build-up, the Swedish government ordered four new destroyers for the Swedish navy, of which two were replacements for three destroyers sunk in an explosion on 17 September that year.[a] The new class would be based on the older Göteborg-class destroyer that were classified as a "Town-class destroyer" and because of this classified as "Modified Town-class destroyers", (modifierad Stadsjagare). In total four ships were built, two at the Götaverken-shipyard and two at the Eriksbergs shipyard.
