kaeru-tsuyu:
“I don’t think so, kero. You may think that you wouldn’t have helped, but you are a hero at heart. Midoriya-chan was glad to share the story of what happened. Kero. You fought for others, to protect them. I once read that a good heart is worth more in a hero then a brave heart. Because a brave only overcomes ones own obstacles, a good heart overcomes all obstacles, kero-kero.”
Tapping one finger against her lower lip and chin, she just kept staring at him. It was probably one of the weirdest possible encounters - The Guy that never looked at people directly and the Girl that never did anything else then stare at them. The two most extreme cases of eye contact done wrong.
“Kero, you will make a great Sidekick and then Pro Hero, because of that, because of your good heart, kero-kero.”
It was weird how similar and different she felt them to be. They were both very toned down in their style. They did not aim to stand out or be the greatest hero to ever be. Fame was not a goal for them, but still, they were so different in their ways. Tsuyu was inviting, speaking her mind openly and without hesitation when she felt it was appropriate, without being brash. And so listening to him talking himself down just manifested a greater and greater need in her to make clear that she felt the opposite was true. It just went against her nature to let someone she respected talk himself down.
“...” Her praise of him was a lot more than he was used to-- or at least he wasn’t used to it until Kirishima came along. Now it wasn’t as awkward for him to hear but he still felt weird listening to her saying he had a good heart. When it came down to people being in danger his anxiety was forgotten and he sprung right into action but after it was all over he reverted back to his normal self. Tamaki really did have a good heart and that always ended up with him able to forget about his personal problems in the face of danger... or more specifically, danger to others.
“I’ve never really been interested in fame or fortune... I wanted to be like All Might but... I’m not the kind of hero that inspires people like he can with how he talks.” Another sigh escaped his lips as he glanced back at her for a moment. “I suppose... in the moment I’m more of the calm and collected type that protects people in my own way. I know a lot of people are even saying that I’m better than most pros... but I still have a lot to learn. I was just lucky to get a strong quirk.”

“ i just wanted to know, out of curiosity, are there any girls you have a crush on? ” kyouka is curious about the subject, but she’s more so asking to see if she’d actually get a response from him. tamaki always seems so quiet and on edge, it made her wonder how difficult it would be to get him to open up a bit more. she probably should’ve stuck to a simpler subject matter, like asking what his favorite color is or what kind of food he likes…
Wall... meet forehead. Tamaki did his best to hide his flustered look as he settled up against the wall. “I... don’t really know many girls that I would be close enough to to have a crush on...” Well, he wasn’t denying that he might have a crush on someone but he certainly wasn’t going to spill the beans. Not to her and not to anyone; he was a very private person when it came to crushes let alone liking someone.

kaeru-tsuyu:
“I don’t think, reflecting on it, any of us would have expected to be much help either, kero-kero. We were lucky that Aizawa-Sensei and All Might were there to intervene when they did, kero. It also helped that the enemy did not know us and brought people like me into a Water-Environment, where I am most comfortable.”
Thinking back to that day, it almost seemed like it had been years ago, but really, it was barely a few months. It still surprised her how relatively easy everyone had gotten off that day. It would not have taken much for things to go the complete opposite direction.
“Also, if you find my first name to be too personal, my family name is Asui. So if you are more comfortable with that, please go ahead, kero. Kirishima-chan said that you prefer to make friends slowly over time and I know it can be hard to make friends sometimes. I had just as much trouble in middle school.”
“Asui-san then...” He figured he could deal with that, at least until he knew her better. A small sigh escaped his lips as if he was letting go of a bit of the stress the plagued him. “It’s hard to say how things would have been different but I’m still not certain that it would have changed much for me... an encounter like that with villains could have made things worse...” Tamaki really wasn’t sure if he would have ended up too afraid to go outside or not.
“I’ve... only had Mirio since elementary... but then we came to UA and Hadou latched onto us-- whether we liked it or not at the time.” Tamaki scratched the back of his head as he looked away. “She took a liking to us rather quickly but I got used to her... eventually. I don’t have much experience with friends or how to interact with others... I guess what I’m saying is that you shouldn’t expect me to be entirely comfortable with how any of this works.”

kaeru-tsuyu:
“I usually prefer if my friends call me Tsuyu, kero. And you are a friend, so call me Tsuyu, please, Amajiki-Senpai.”
Even with telling him to call her by her first name, the honorific suffix still felt more appropriate toward the third semester student, especially considering his position in the Top Three and his more then respectable performance in recent events.
“Maybe we are further then you were, but that is because our first year was way more tumultuous then yours, kero. I am certain given the same circumstance for you, you’d be outshining us just as much. After all, most of us had to measure up against powerful villains within the first week at Yuuei, kero-kero. So it’s only natural that we are forced to advance quicker then former years.”
Tamaki stared at her for a few moments as it sunk in that she actually did consider him her friend. Truthfully that only made him more nervous than before. His anxiety levels were always out of wack but in times like these it got so intense that others generally became intimidated by it; just like when he first introduced himself to her class.
“I-I can’t... calling a girl by her first name so soon...” Even if it’s what she wanted he found it difficult to actually do so. In all likelihood he would simply avoid using her name when talking to her rather than going directly against her wishes. “But besides that... I don’t think I would have been much help against something like what your class has gone up against... not in my first year.”

Tamaki glanced over his shoulder with an intense glare that matched the first day he was supposed to introduce himself to her class. Outside of missions he found himself struggling to talk with girls other than Nejire but upon being approached he felt the need to respond as a role model. “Did... you want something?” He hoped to god this wasn’t about the culture festival since he planned to stay home that entire day except maybe to get some food.

“Ah... the ribbit-ribbit girl...” Tamaki glanced down at her for a moment before quickly averting his gaze. “You show... promise. Keep up the good work.” It was a little hard for him to at as a senpai to other students with how nervous he always was but it was much easier with a one on one interaction. That and Kirishima helped him get more used to expanding his social circle. “Everyone in your class is so much further ahead than we were in first year...”

@earphonexjack
The pain wasn’t really what bothered Tamaki as he limped through the hallways. Among other things he had hurt his ankle from the huge mission that they’d gone on to rescue Eri. Even if it had been a day or two since the incident still didn’t look the best but he didn’t want to lay in a hospital bed all day.
As his eyes met girl’s in the hallways he remembered her from looking over the classes for someone to join him at Fatgum’s. “You’re... that earphone girl...”
