in my opinion, vergil doesn’t fuck because his body and mind are so numb to pleasure that it’s incredibly difficult for him to get off. it feels like a chore, a burden.

it genuinely, genuinely kills me that there is SO MUCH potential to explore kyrie’s character but in true dmc fashion, they sideline their female characters after they’ve had ONE (1) impactful moment. and kyrie barely even had that! girl spoke, like… 5 times.

also because i’m selfish and i want more information on how her and nero’s dynamic really works. what we’re given in canon is just. so not satisfying. at all.

thank goodness for aftershock. and also for the power of headcanons and character studies.

banging my head against the wall because i keep thinking of aftershock and then stepping away and realizing kyrie is NOT actually an important character in dmc she's just a sidepiece to establish Nero as 'family man' in the narrative with no further depth whatsoever [just like the three boys they care for]

can people stop pretending vergil is genuinely a kind individual. please. i swear to god majority of the headcanons i see on tiktok are the same generic ass cookie cutter ‘dark brooding protective boyfriend’ bs over and over.

vergil is not selfless. he’s not going to coddle or soothe or help very much at all. vergil does not care to uphold morals or be empathetic on a whim. he doesn’t know how to begin to be sensitive or open because his entire life has revolved around him learning to do the exact opposite.

there’s more to be said regarding people’s views that a lack of empathy = inherently bad person = character/person they must avoid and hate at all costs; ergo, they must try to find ways to humanise vergil and make him more palatable. but that’s enough to warrant its own post.

headcanons are great but man it really gets to a point, and i genuinely question if we are looking at the same character. pet peeve, yes. but god is it frustrating to be flashbanged with comments saying ‘he would’ve been such a good father to nero 🥺’ or ‘he’d be such a good boyfriend’. honourable mention, the people who are genuinely convinced vergil is simply a ‘tsundere’ and that’s it.

you can just admit he’s a shithead who sucks at being kind to himself and others. you don’t have to jump through hoops to make him a good person*. his life experiences, if they haven’t thoroughly pushed romance or love (in all its forms) from his accepted framework of ideas, don’t include knowing how to be mundanely good or kind.

he feels and loves deeply, but he doesn’t know what to do with that.

vergil is not going to internally monologue about the best, most sensitive way to approach a conversation, or feel guilty for snide remarks.

*vergil isn’t even human. he’s not going to experience the world how ‘normal’ people do. and it genuinely appalls me when people talk about him (dante + nero also) as if, at his core, vergil is simply a human first; one who so happens to have a little devil sitting on his shoulder. as if he’s categorically a human who is just a victim of a demonic inner voice.

he is in fact his own autonomous being—with a unique heritage and therefore a unique cognition and genetic make-up.

the dmc fandom’s ability to somehow miss the point of everything and instead reinforce their weird alpha male bullshit with vergil and dante is insane to me

another day of reminding the dmc fandom that Dante's financial imcompobility and over reliance on junk food (such as sundaes or pizza) aren't implemented as funny gags for you to point your finger and laugh at but rather unhealthy habits manifested by his depression .

me when i realise most of my nero headcanons are literally just me projecting

Nero and Kyrie make instant ramen for dinner sometimes but they add stuff to make it nicer. Not exactly fancy ramen but not a depressing meal. soft boiled eggs and fresh green onion and seasoning it to hell and spinach and anything else they can think to add.

nero gets half a dozen eggs on his ramen and like 3 bricks. he eats it all and could easily go for more.
