The fact Vox could canonically be older then Al is hysterical to me. All we knkw for sure right now Vox was in his 50s and died in 1950 and all died in 1930s in his 30s

Chapter 2: Trust Us With your safety

FUCK, FUCK FUCK, OH FUCK" Vox was running as fast as he could. His muscles crying out in agony and his breath coming in quick pants. Al maniacal laughter followed him filling the night air. Vox looked around. There was a seemingly empty building he ran inside. He could hear Al's laughter catching up with him. Vox was sweating. "what the hell did I get myself into?"

Als laughter grew louder and louder. Vox peaked out of a window and saw Al running and laughing with both middle fingers in the air. Vox rubbed his forehead in frustration. "is he trying to piss off the guards? What the hell?! Why do I always wind up with crazy mentally unstable people? "

He reached out and pulled Alastor into the building.

"Oh I thought you had had enough fun and ran with your tail between your legs Vox" Al's eyes were bright and full of mischief.

"FUN!!?!.......you call breaking into Camillas warehouse fun!?" Vox stared at Al. This damn dear is absolutely insane he thought

"Well, of course dear Vox, im having a grand time. You're not actually scared of her, are you? " Alastor raised an eyebrow "wheres the cocky sinner who claimed he would be an overlord one day?"

Vox didn't appreciate being called out "N...no I didn't say I was afraid......just.....why even bother her surely there are other overlords we can mess with?"

Al shook his head. "You have to understand Camilla doesn't have a sense of humor, and her whole district is tacky that is why she's the prefect target."

Vox made a skeptical face. "Is this because she called your broadcast boring and repetitive?"

Al growled, but he quickly regained composure. "Of course not Vox I'm simply trying to remind her to smile." Al smirked and started drawing a gaint smile on the walls with some paint cans he had.

Vox looked out the windows the guards were heading towards them. "We're gonna have company soon."

"Almost done once I finish this, then we'll go." Al was drawing another smile

"Wait......you had us break into Camillas warehouse just so you can graffiti the walls!?!" Vox rubbed his forehead "Thats so dumb."

"Vox come now surely you see the bigger picture" Al finished the smile "Breaking in here WOULD put a target on our backs if we took something.....but if we don't she can't do anything without admitting she failed to provide adequate security and I'm sure you know that wouldn't leave her business partners very happy would it"

Vox thought for a moment, and Al had a point. Al continued "and...she can't even cross into my territory without causing a big uproar again, altering everyone to her failure."

Vox was amazed at Als' thought process. "Holy shit youre right. She has no choice but to just sit there knowing you broke in but having no course of action to follow you or get you back. Al.....you're an evil bastard!" Vox laughed " all this because of what she said about your radio show .....damn"

The guards finally arrived. There was about 10 of them. They started shooting and screaming at them to leave. Al and Vox ducked for cover behind a metalsheet. Vox looked at Al. " What's the plan now?"

Als eyes turned black and his voice got slightly distorted. " Now the real fun begans"

Al started growing in size, and his face became almost unrecognizable. Vox stared at Als demonic form. Is this the power of a overlord? Vox was amazed but was quickly met with a bullet buzzing inches from his face.

"Shit!" Vox got up and looked at his attacker it was a young hellhound who was shaking. Poor pup probably just started this job. "S.....stay where you are"

Vox put his hands up he looked over at Al who was ripping the heads off of a couple of guards and laughing as the others shot at him. He looked at the hellhounds eyes he could sense the same fear he was feeling. "l...listen......my friend over there is super strong. He's an overlord...e...even if you manage to kill me.....he would not be happy....y..you can just leave ....i...i won't attack you and you can live"

The hell hound looked at Al and back at Vox. "I....I...I can't......all we can do is security......if they found out i abandoned my post....I'd be unemployed," he cocked the gun. "I..I'm sorry."

Vox knew he had to wrestle the gun away, but he didn't know how much strength the young pup had. He ran toward the hell hound who shot and missed. Vox grabbed a hold of the gun and tried to pull it away. "Damnit! Give me the gun. "

"NO!" The hellhound fought back. The struggled insued the hell hound elbowed vox a couple times in the rips.

"DAMN CHEAP SHOTS" Vox growled and punched the hounds stomach but the hounds grip remained strong.

By this time, Al had finished the other guards and was watching Vox play tug of war with the hellhound. "Oh come now, Vox, surely you're stronger than one little hell hound."

"SHUT UP," Vox growled. He tried tripping the hound but the hound had great balance and responded by stomping voxs foot. "You CAN help you know"

"Of course I can, but it will cost you." Als eyes lit up

Vox growled "I'm not selling my soul! I'm an overlord!"

Al chuckled. "Owning one soul doesn't make you an overlord...and just because you say it doesn't make it true"

Vox growled it took him weeks to convince someone to sell their soul to him, and he had worked hard to complete his half of the deal. Al did have a point, but denying his status still stung. Electricity started crackling around Vox. The hell hound lifted his ears. Voxs voice got slightly distorted. "I AM an overlord!"

Als ears twitched as more static crackled around Vox. He clenched his teeth and clenched his fist. Electricity built up in his fist while he punched the hellhound knocking his head off in one punch.

Al looked at the body "wow seems like you have a pretty impressive power, my friend."

Vox looked at his fist he could still feel the electricity coursing through him. "I.....I did that!?"

"Yes, that was all you." Al stepped over the body. "Now we should probably leave."

Vox stared at his hand he could still feel tiny sparks in his fingers. "You think she's gonna come after us?" Vox had to ask

Al scofted "No she would have to admit we killed her security, and that would mean admitting she's vulnerable for sinners to break in.....she'll likely sweap it under the rug and beef up security"

"Yeah......security......" Vox looked at the hellhound one last time before walking. He didn't feel bad about it, but relying on a creature so week that he was able to beat it in one hit for security didn't sit right with him. There has to be something better, he thought. "Is that all people can do for security hire hellhounds?"

Al titled his head as he walked he didn't feel the need to hire anyone and didn't have anything he considered valuable enough to protect. He was never to far from the radiotowernand it was usually left alone, no doubt due to his notoriety. "Wel, yes, for most businesses, hell hounds are used. Normal sinners usually can't afford them, so they usually sell their soul to an overlord for help or they're pretty much defenseless."

Vox was amazed at hearing that "so what's a normal sinner suppose to do if they don't sell their soul?!"

Al laughed. " Why are you afraid she's gonna come after you!?" Al twirled his cane and put it in front of him he offered his hand. "I could protect you, you know... you saw yourself how powerful I am."

Vox rolled his eyes. "I already told you I'm not selling my soul, so cut the bullshit its not happening."

"Fair enough," Al shrugged, and they started walking again. "My offer still stands. When you're ready to accept"

Vox shook his head "Please I have my own powers now. With them, I can get even more souls. " Voxs eyes gleamed."People will trust me to protect them once i show them"

Als narrowed his eyes he knew sinners well enough to know that he was right. Once sinners saw his flashy new powers, he would instantly have people crawling to him for protection. "No doubt, but you also have to claim territory, and where exactly do you plan to do that?"

Vox looked at Al and flashed his cocky grin "why?..scared ill steal yours!?....no, I'm planning right over there across this broder zone." Vox pointed to a dark district that had no lights or anything

Al slightly nodded. "The only ones that go over there are drug addictes and sex workers, but if that's what you're into, be my guest."

Vox laughed. "You have no idea the shit I'm into."

Al rolled his eyes he despised when men acted this way. Vox noticed Al wasn't laughing with him and grew slightly embarrassed and cleared his throat. "So......I'm starving wanna grab something?"

"No, I have to get going anyway... I will see you around, my dear." Al waved as he spun his cane and walked away

Vox watched Al as he walked away "later Al." He couldn't deny he admired Al for his strength, intelligence, and bravery. All things he found himself lacking at times. He turned and started walking. He couldnt help but flash that cocky grin as the electricity started swarming and crackling around him. His next course of action was to find some sinners who were scared and offer his protection.
