CLARA OSWALD IN SERIES 8
Don't you dare lot me in with the rest of all the little humans that you think are so tiny and silly and predictable. You walk our Earth, Doctor. You breath our air. You make us your friend, and that is your moon too, and you can damn well help us when we need it.

Doctor Who ramblings
Sometimes I think about how much I used to obsess over Doctor Who, and it actually makes me smile. Oh how wonderful it is to love a story so much! I am genuinely so, so glad this show exists. I know it is just another form of entertainment, but it has brought me so much happiness over the years. The first time I really got into this show was when I was 14 years old - exactly ten years ago! I may not be the same level of obsessed as I once was, but I am still deeply connected to the story. I think I originally connected with the story of the Doctor because of their desire to see the universe and their desire to help as many beings as they can. Though I am no alien, I personally want to see this world and help as many people on my way as I can too. I don't want to help people for selfish reasons, or at least not for the selfish reason of looking better to other people. I just know how it feels to have hard things happen and want help, but be too afraid to look for it. Life is so hard, and it's the everyday kindness of my family and friends that gets me through it all. So of course, when I watch the Doctor on my screen get excited about traveling and showing kindness and compassion despite their own suffering, I see myself in them. I may never get to hang out with cool aliens or see exotic planets, but this planet, Earth, is more than enough for me. In my lifetime, I won’t be able to see the whole planet, and that's okay. I am happy enough to see as much of it as I can.
