I've never actually understood why being ace is such a big thing, but this panel alone hits you where it wants lmao. Mei being such a smol bean yet having this huge responsibility he's been carrying and that Eijun now has that same duty he has to fill. my ass will be a mess during the finals, i just know it

this manga pays so close attention to details, it's eerily scary. like the fact that Miyuki talks a lot when he's happy or the fact that Sawamura hates natto, all of those being shown in the anime/manga and it makes you just love the characters as if they were real because the author make them feel real. just look at the way Kuramochi glares at the runner 😭

then the scene with ochiai and the way Miyuki was unexpectedly bad at janken and his third years teammates know it and tease him for it !!! i honestly fell in love with this third years dynamics because they treat Miyuki more than just an asset to the team, but also just a friend even if his personality could use some heavy improvement

i find this panel hilarious BECAUSE I'm a huge miyusawa shipper and this is too funny because there's a number of fics where Amahisa is one of the second lead where Miyuki was jealous. and it makes it funny in my head bc miyuki not being able to stand amahisa's closeness to Sawamura in those fanfictions and then Amahisa feeling the same disdain in canon makes it so entertaining because then we see from amahisa what Miyuki sees in the fanfictions ahaha

oh nothing, just the fact that MIYUKI AND OKUMURA are both actively looking and paying attention to whatever Sawamura is doing during meetings and have no qualms in calling him out 😭 boys if you want your crush to pay attention to you, pls don't bully them (though it wouldn't be miyuki or okumura if they dont at least make eijun aware he's adorably stupid)

this made me human 😭😭 the way Miyuki just resigns on letting Sawamura speaks his heart out and isn't even surprised when he declared war, it's beyond my understanding how these two little shits are not canon. im incline to think that daiya is just a slow burn shojo manga at this point

EIJUN APPRECIATION POST AGAIN. 🥺😭 FORGIVE ME.

Yknow like Eijun's character writing is literally what sets DnA apart from most sports anime. Like, ok. Lets forget abt his character development (this is a totally different story, tell me if u wanna hear my thoughts 🥺🥺) for now and look into his SKILL development.

This is why everything eijun is capable of now is not unfounded. Its one of the most well written skill development i have ever read of tbh. It wasnt just bcs of one training arc. His unbelievable stamina from two months of being made to do nothing but run from sun up to sun down as a punishment for mouthing off the coach. Having never been injured bcs he was partnered with Chris first, who knew too well of injuries instead of Miyuki. His wide array of pitches to compensate for his lack of speed while using his flexibility to its full potential. His command of the strike zone's insides and outsides from his experience with Yips. Because before that, he could only pitch to the inside, but the yips took even that away from him, leaving him with nothing. So, he had to grit his teeth through learning outside pitches. And then his offspeed pitch, which was attained accidentally bcs a coach deliberately tried to destroy his form, bcs he believed eijun wasnt worth play time. Literally EVERYTHING eijun could do, all of it were a culmination of everything he had to go thru. 🙏🙏🙏 This is why i love it despite how rough eijuns journey was or how looooong it took eijun to get the ace number.

DnA's overall storyline is pretty generic tbh, but Eijun's character writing?? Lord thats some good stuff. SPECIALLY HIS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT WHICH IS A WHOLE DIFFERENT LONG ASS POST TBH. CRIES
