‘blorbo’ doesn’t have to mean ‘character i objectively think is the most well written and fascinating narrative agent ever’. it doesn’t even necessarily have to mean ‘favorite character’. they *can* all be the same person of course but to me ‘blorbo’ conveys the sense of a fun little trinket you carry around with you for moral support. it may or may not serve a functional purpose but you like looking at it. you play with it or put it in a jar or chew on it occasionally

For Years my brother has been fucking with me by periodically texting me to say Jimmy Carter had finally died. Today the bit has paid off.

The response to my reaction at work was “what do you MEAN ‘for real this time’?????”

You ever take a break from a project thinking it’s gonna be, like, a week or two tops, and then suddenly it’s been months and you’re staring at it like it’s an alien artifact? Like, who wrote this? Me? Are we sure??

And then you try to pick it back up, but your brain’s all, ‘Nah, let’s just scroll or start a completely new idea instead, because that’s productive.’ And meanwhile, the guilt is just chilling in the corner like, ‘You can’t ignore me forever, champ.’

And the wild part is, the project is good. You love the project. Or at least you did. But now it feels like this huge mountain to climb, and you’re standing at the base like, ‘What if I just moved to a beach town and gave up on ambition entirely?’

Anyway, long story short, hiatuses are addictive, and getting back into the groove is harder than it should be. But also, maybe that’s just the process? Like, the creative version of seasons or something. Winter is long, but spring eventually comes, right? Right??
