And then gaslight gatekeep girlboss showed up in the feeds of eight different Twitter repost accounts. Then it filtered down through Instagram and then trickled on down into some tragic “alt side of Tiktok” where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that meme represents millions of notes and countless Tumblr users and so it’s sort of comical how you think that you’ve made a choice that exempts you from Tumblr when, in fact, you’re wearing the meme that was selected for you by the people in this room. From a pile of “stuff.”

the concept and idea of “you can always start trying to be a better person” is extremely important to me both in media and irl and i continue to be deeply deeply disturbed by the trend on this site pushing that these ideas in media are bad writing or even morally reprehensible

because theyd rather someone stay terrible or just straight up die than become a better person 

from a compassionate point of view it’s deeply distressing and from a pragmatic point of view it’s outright frustrating

I hate Kyoto and I've made that clear many times. I think the premise of it is very stupid, I think the conclusion of it is very stupid and I think it's an insult to the intelligence of his audience.

However, if there is an aspect of Kyoto I like, it's Shinichi willing to go through with the transformation just to be a normal boy again for a couple of hours.

I hate how dismissive of the transformation Gosho is when he shows how agonizing it is to undergo. Your body melting or regrowing at such a rapid pace and you feel every moment of it. Shinichi clutches at his chest when he transforms so it's obvious it also puts strain on his heart when goes through it. He no doubt also feels transported to that fateful day, when he first thought he would die.

And yet despite how painful and traumatizing it is, how often he has to grow and shrink in such a short period of time, Shinichi is willing to endure such agony for a moment of normality, to pretend just for a couple of days he is a normal teenage boy hanging out with his friends and love interest.

It's so goddamn raw and tragic when you think about it.

If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.

Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else.

Like all of the detectives have to interact with him like he's a feral stray cat and it's hilarious and sad every time.

He's obviously traumatized and paranoid about himself and others getting hurt like Conan is but unlike Conan he doesn't really have the luxury of talking to anyone about it, Jii-san is old and talking with him would only worry him. He can't talk to Aoko, he thinks she'll hate him (rightfully). Nor Akako, 'cause he's had bad experiences with her and once you hurt a feral cat it'll hate you until you get its trust back (really hard). Nor Saguru, nor Heji, nor Nakamori. The only person he'd even slightly be able to talk to about this stuff is Conan but that'll only be vague allusions if Conan could even get Kaito to slow down and trust him enough to talk with him anyways, he wouldn't be able to go into specifics cause he'd be worried about his identity getting out even with Conan.

The worst part is that they couldn't even help him if they arrest him bc Kaito would assume they're done with their job when he's arrested and he'd be in danger if he continues to stay arrested (he likely would be). So he'd run away and would cut all contact with his old life to keep them safe and the detectives wouldn't be able to help him.

He's so Cat Coded it's funny because I imagine the detective and the Taskforce treating him like a cat but then it's sad because they'd have to treat him like an abused cat, cause he is.
