I heard that creators of Neon Desert Music Festival are considering moving it from its original place to Ascarate Park like Sun City Music Festival. I think this is not a good option for them to take since the whole purpose of the festival is for it to attract more people to downtown El Paso.

Hi, everyone! My name is Ashley and I wanted today’s blog to be about one of my interests. I began attending Neon Desert Music Festival since 2011 and have continued going since then. This festival has significantly grown and become increasingly better each year, by attracting more than 20,000 fans last year. Not only the amount of fans has improved but also the number of artists and vendors as well. This year the two-day festival is expecting more than 40 artists and about 40,000 fans. This year's two-day festival will be held at San Jacinto Plaza and Cleveland Square Park on May 28 & 29. I am personally very excited to see what the lineup for this year will look like. From Rap to Pop music to Electronic Dance music to Reggaeton, Neon Desert has something for everyone. I hope the festival more Spanish speaking artists this year and that are currently trending such as Ozuna, Bad Bunny, or Maluma. This way the amount of spectators will significantly increase since the lineup will be targeting a variety of age ranges and will especially attract people from the neighbor city Juarez, Chihuahua. In the previous years' some of the best artist that I liked the most were J Balvin, J Cole, Zedd, Molotov, Zoe, and Daddy Yankee. In my opinion, these artists have brought the best light show and dancers to set a happy ambient. Not only is the music they bring the best, but I love the food that it is sold at the festival. Some of the vendors that are welcomed annually are Crave, El Clasico, and Paco Taco. However, my favorite one is the tacos from Paco Taco, because of their juicy meat, colorful corn tortillas, and delicious Horchata water. I also like to buy the sweet potato fries from Crave because they enlighten my day with their sweet flavor.

Besides all of these great things, one of my favorite is the art that is displayed such as graffiti from local artists. It is wonderful to go and appreciate the beauty of the paintings they create. Their brightness brings happiness and excitement into the environment. The structure of the art portrays the way the artist feels as well as what he wants his viewers to feel, in this modern festival. The other art that I find very interesting is the way people dress and how they use their bodies to express a feeling with colorful outfits or costumes.  

 I am very excited to see what this year will consist of. As soon as Spring Break begins I will start looking for my two outfits to wear for the festival. I am planning to buy a crop top with some white shorts or yellow pants with a black bodysuit. I want to do my hair in two braids and apply glitter to them or curl it depending on what the fashion trends are. Hopefully celebrity posts on Instagram during Coachella will help me develop more outfit ideas. Coachella is one of the most popular and biggest music festival in the United States that happens at Indio, California in April.

 I hope my personal experience and this brief information about Neon Desert Music Festival will encourage all of you to attend and go out to enjoy the streets of downtown El Paso. Don’t forget that the Early Bird tickets will begin to be sold on March 14, 2018 after 30 days the prices will begin to increase. As an El Pasoan I totally recommend attending this event.
