I've had this idea for a while, of Zagreus corrupted and enslaved by Chronos being someone Mel has to fight. It was pure coincidence that I started actually drawing the idea just in time for the Olympus update to come out (which has no Zag for those waiting for the final release).

Zag is not a willing servant, he's been torn apart and reconstructed and forced to do Chronos' will. This is only possible bc Chronos flooded the Styx with his sand. Each time Zag was killed, he came back with more of Chronos' sand holding him together. Renewal of the Styx and time spent with/inside Nyx will reverse the corruption of his body, but not the time he spent suffering Chronos' conditioning.

Viktor’s first year celebrating Yuuri’s birthday.

Do you think he even knew what to do with himself? Too much money, too few ideas. How does he show Yuuri how much he means to him, how much he cares?

In the snow of late November, in the midst of competitions, there are so few opportunities to take a break. But Yuuri’s birthday is an oasis in a sea of anxiety, a moment of reprieve against the unending rhythm of the competitive season. Yuuri doesn’t strike me as particularly materialistic, but Viktor does seem like one for celebration.

The way in which he celebrates Yuuri would come across tentatively. For all of his projected confidence, he’s still terribly unsure of where he stands in Yuuri’s life. He doesn’t want to step on any toes.

Maybe a homemade cake, with smeared icing and uneven candles. Perhaps new gloves, leather and softly lined. Even a beautiful card purchased from the grocery store with a doodle of a poodle inside.

The only certainty: they spend the day together, and they celebrate the first of their many birthdays by each other’s sides.
