トランプ氏と次期厚生長官、マックで会食　「米国の健康取り戻すのはアスから」

　両氏は１６日、プライベートジェットでニューヨークへ飛び、トランプ氏の長男ジュニア氏や、次期政権で新設される「政府効率化省（ＤＯＧＥ）」のトップに指名された実業家のイーロン・マスク氏と一緒に総合格闘技団体「ＵＦＣ」の試合を観戦した。

　ジュニア氏は翌１７日、４人がマクドナルドのトレーを前に向かい合って座る写真をインターネット上に投稿。「米国の健康を取り戻すのはアスから」と、冗談めいたキャプションを添えた。

　トランプ、ケネディ両氏は今回の大統領選中、そろって加��食品問題との取り組みを公約の一つとして掲げていた。

　民主党の名門一族出身ながら大統領選には無所属で立候補し、８月の撤退後はトランプ氏支持を表明してきたケネディ氏は先週、厚生長官に指名された。

　トランプ氏はその際、「米国人はあまりにも長い間、工業食品複合体と製薬会社に圧迫されてきた」と述べた。

　だが、投稿写真には、フライドポテトとコカ・コーラのボトルを前に、ハンバーガーの入った箱を開けかけているケネディ氏が、最も健康意識が低そうだとのコメントが付いている。

　ワクチン懐疑論者として知られるケネディ氏は、米国の肥満傾向を抑えるためには、国民の食生活で糖分、脂肪、添加物の多い加工食品の摂取を減らす必要があると長年主張してきた。

　先週公開したポッドキャストでは、トランプ氏の食生活について「選挙選期間中の食事は常にひどいものだが、（トランプ氏の）専用機に持ち込まれている食べ物はただの毒だ」「ＫＦＣ（ケンタッキーフライドチキン）かビッグマックしか出てこない」とぼやいていた。

　一方、トランプ氏はファストフードとダイエットコークが大好物であることを隠したことはない。選挙戦中の１０月にはペンシルベニア州のマクドナルド店で調理もして見せ、店舗スタッフに「私は塩が大好きだ」と語った。

　ケネディ氏の厚生長官就任には上院の承認が必要だが、共和党の一部幹部は適性に懸念を示している。

New anime "Fist of the North Star" announced

Warner Bros. Japan announced today (September 13, 2024) that it is currently producing a new anime based on the manga "Fist of the North Star," and released the key visual. This work commemorates the 40th anniversary of the birth of Fist of the North Star on September 13, 2024, and is said to faithfully visualize the charm of the original work without leaving anything out, using the latest video technology.

Fist of the North Star is a manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1983 to 1988, with the original story by Buronson and the manga by Tetsuo Hara. The main character is Kenshiro, the successor to the legendary assassination fist "Hokuto Shinken," and the action work depicts his way of life and the battles surrounding the Hokuto Shinken.

It was also made into an anime in 1984, and has spawned a variety of memorable memes that remain today, such as Kenshiro's call when he unleashes his secret technique, "Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken," lines such as "You're already dead," and the distinctive cries of "Hidebu" and "Abeshi" when enemies are defeated.
