Lavender Brown is brave, loyal, kind, bubbly and cheerful. Sure, she can be clingy and emotional, but really, why would you hate someone, especially a teenager, for that? Her “flaws” are outweighed by her strengths. She was one of the first to join the DA, she was kind and understanding and loving towards Professor Trelawney when many mocked her, she was upset when Ron broke it off but she wasn’t cruel to him or his friends, she stayed at Hogwarts for 7th year even though it was dangerous af, she continued to fight against their oppressors with the DA and she stayed and fought in the final battle. And yet, Snape is treated better than her by many in this fandom. Snape! Snape was abusive and literally held a grudge against a child just because of who his parents were. He was unfair and unjust, favoring Slytherins and bullying the others. He judged Hermione on her status as a muggleborn and not her actual merit and he called his best friend who he claims to be in love with the equivalent of a racial slur. He called others of her blood status that same slur, and stood by and even joined in while his friends bullied and tortured people of her blood status. So yeah, inexcusable.
