"I mean I just had to verify that I'm not some figment of your imagination, the incident with Simon has me shaken." She told her friend.
"So you see the others too? Not even Simon could see the others. Yeah there's quite a few ghosts here at the school, every death that happened at the school, Minus Janet now since she's in my body." Maddie had an idea. So I have a friend group with some of the ghosts, ones who aren't just lost in their death state. "I could uh introduce you to some of them. If you like that is." Maddie honestly didn't know how she'd respond to that but she figured that it could be helpful for everyone involved.

It was hard to concentrate now, especially after the accident, and for some reason none of the teachers understood that.
Gabrielle sighed, running a hand through her hair as she tried to focus on the math work at hands. But after being in the hospital for months, not knowing if she would live or die, homework wasn’t on her list of things to focus on.
She sighed, looking up from her place on the bleachers as she watched the football team practice, what a typical thing to see on a high school campus.
Gabby huffed, slamming the math book closed and leaning back. It was like school just moved on, while her best friend was missing or dead. They didn’t seem to care. No one seems to care. She let her fingers trace against the long scar of the side of her head. The hair may never grow back, she remembered the doctor saying. Just another issue at hand.

Maddie stood at the door of the grave. Her entire time as a ghost she was different from the others but now it felt surreal she was staring at her grave. It didn't take long for her body, inhabited by another spirit to have died, and now Maddie was stuck, she had never faced death but she knew that she'd never live again. "You know, no matter how many times I come here it doesn't get any more weird, I shouldn't be looking at my grave. I should be in college now trying to get a degree." She sighed running her hand across the cool stone.

"Eh kinda, it's a long story on how I died if died is even a proper word." She commented with a shrug. "You can take a guess but I'm sure that you won't get it right." She admitted. it had been some time since she had been forced from her body and trapped as a ghost, now her body was who knows where after another spirit had taken control.
"Oh that's really cool, kinda like the ghostbusters I guess, except more real and cooler." science and tech were always a subject Maddie was good at, though she was good at most of the subjects in school, that's why she had been slated to go to Northwestern before everything had happened. " What you mean ask questions like what's my name? Do I not wanna pass over?" She chuckled, grinning at him. "I'm Maddie by the way, or Madison Nears if you wanna know my full name.

Maddie sat in the theater, she didn't want to be around anyone at the current moment. She had just lost her best friend after he thought that she wasn't real and not only that but another spirit had forced her out of her body and was now inhabiting it. So now it looked like Maddie was going to be stuck as a ghost for the rest of eternity and any memory of her would be tarnished by this other ghost in her body. Sorrow was mixed with anger as her emotions mixed and blended together, not knowing how she should feel about any of this.
"Screw this, I'm going to keep trying to get out of this god forsaken school." She spoke before getting up to leave from the theater and making her way to the bus stop, the furthest point that she'd been able to go. "I can just find a weak point and rip past like ripping fabric." She said before moving slightly to the left of it and attempting her escape before she suddenly found herself inside the boiler room again, but she stopped as she saw someone there, and looking at the door to the fallout shelter that was held beneath the school. "Don't go in there. There's nothing good that can come from going in there." She spoke, though she knew that it was a moot point as the living couldn't interact with anyone in this purgatory of an afterlife. But upon her words it did look like they had heard her, or maybe it was just her wishful thinking. "Did you just hear what I said?" She inquired shocked that it may have been possible for others to hear or see her, though if her theory was right that meant anyone who had a pure enough heart could see a ghost if they tried hard enough.

"I don't know how it happened, everything is still fuzzy about it. I remember it but it's like looking at one of those old projectors when I think of it." Maddie explained. She still didn't quite know how she was able to see Mr. Martin or Janet in the boiler room but that didn't matter.
Hearing Gabby make the realization that it may have been her accident that led her to seeing Maddie allowed it to be Maddie's turn to be shocked. She knew that it was touch and go after the accident but didn't know the extent of it.
After hearing Gabby explain it a bit she guessed that the theory could make sense, not that she really felt it mattered, she was just happy to have a friend. "You know I came to visit whenever I could, I was planning on coming by that day as well." Maddie admitted, looking over at her friend again, not believing that she was having a conversation with a living person again.
"I've missed you too Gabby!" She exclaimed giving a smile back before going in for the best attempt at a hug that a ghost would be able to give. "For everyone's safety though I think that you should keep being able to speak to me a secret, also I have to let you know that there are a few other ghosts around the school, anyone who's died on school property gets trapped here." Maddie told her.

Maddie realized that she probably had info dumped a bit too much all at once, her friend had just gotten back and Maddie was just throwing everything right on top of it all at once. She took a pause before looking at her friend, one of her oldest friends, right up there with Simon and Nicole.
"I know I'm sitting right in front of you, but I am a ghost, or spirit or maybe it's just my soul. I don't know the exact specifics of it." She explained. It was easier to use ghost and she had been referring herself as it up until she found out that technically her body was alive just inhabited by another and it brought her to question herself whether ghost was the proper term for herself.
As Gabby tried touching her she did feel a chill run through her own body. As far as she knew nobody had ever really gone through her before, more so they tended to avoid the areas ghosts were at. "So I think Simon can see me because he was one of the only people who never took more than what he gave, never took advantage of me, never asked me for anything. He loved me for me." Maddie explained, tearing up at the though of her confession to him as well. "I did have a huge fight with my mom, and after that fight I heard people down in the old fallout shelter by the boiler room. When I went to see I saw two people, well two ghosts, and one of them ran into my, possessing my body and pushing me out into the afterlife. It made me forget what happened. Simon's freaking out because the person who attacked Xavier, who's been breaking into houses in town, is the ghost in my body, he thinks he's crazy and I'm just a coping mechanism for him." She explained, hoping everything made sense to Gabby.

Maddie could tell that the information of her being alive hadn't gone out very far from the fact that she heard nothing about it on campus, but she figured that it was only a matter of time until it came to light one way or another.
Watching Gabby react to her voice made Maddie's face light up, Gabby was someone that she absolutely trusted and the fact that she could hear her at least made things even better, that meant that Simon could be convinced that she was real and not a figment of his grief. It also meant that Maddie had more friends that she could confer things with. "No-No don't think I'm just some figment of your imagination too." She spoke faintly hearing the other's words.
"Gabby, it's me, sort of. It's hard to explain but I'll try to do it." She started as she finally reached her friend. "It's me but I'm a ghost. I'm bound to the school with a handful of other ghosts here, but my body isn't necessarily dead, it got possessed by another spirit forcing me out." She told her frantically trying to get the story out before the other thought that she was just a hallucination or something else.
"If you don't believe me ask Simon, tell him that you know that he was talking to me, and that I wasn't just him trying to process his grief over losing me and tell him that the video of me is the ghost in my body. All that is stuff that only he would know if I wasn't real." She continued before looking her friend up and down. "I don't know how you can see me but I'm glad you can, most can't and I never got to say how much of an amazing friend you were before your accident." It was a moment that Maddie wished she were able to hug her friend but despite the ability to talk to one another she was still bound by being a ghost in all other respects.

Maddie sat at the bleachers watching the practice. Before she had died she was never one for sports, playing or watching, but after her death she stayed to watch, if not to give her something to do, after all if she was going to be stuck in school then she'd at least try doing something a bit out of her comfort zone, plus it helped her take her mind off of Simon, she had confessed that she had loved him and he had instead told her that her body was still alive and that he thought that she was just a figment of his imagination. Then she found all her lost memories and what truly went down. After rescuing the other ghosts from the fallout shelter she had stayed to herself.
Now though she was glad to see that Gabby was back at school after an accident though she wished she could interact with her friend, but she doubted that she could like she had done with Simon, but it might be worth a shot to at least try to interact with her. "Hey Gabby, don't freak out if you can hear me." She spoke, as she came up the bleachers cautiously.

"Oh I love Elm Street." She said with a grin before getting focused back on things at hand. "Urbex? No I'm not an urban explorer, this is uh.... where I died, in fact right..... here." She commented stepping about five steps to her left. Which brings me to how can you see me. I can understand Simon cause I knew him but I don't think I know you." She commented.

tw: coma mention, afterlife
“Did you sleep?”
“Hey, at least they used a nice photo of you.”
“I’m trying to focus.”
“If you ask me, what’s really missing here is a little…tact.”
“Say with me now. Just one more time. They can’t hear you.”
“Maybe I’m in a coma somewhere and some overworked nurse is stepping on my breathing tube.”
“Someone’s been reading way too much Stephen King.”
“There are some people I think you should meet.”
“They can’t see you and they can’t hurt you.”
“She’s really into Kerouac poems and confrontation.”
“What do you need to know?”
“I don’t know who did this to me.”
“Is that weird or something? Not knowing?”
“So then, what do you remember, cherry pop?”
“I’m too scared to try. But you should try smiling some more.”
“I texted you a reminder, which I know you read.”
“He doesn’t even like horror movies.”
“Hitting the hard stuff a little early?”
“I came out to ask you the same question.”
“You know, you don’t have to lie to me.”
“Maybe you’re just the best detective.”
“I will leave you to squander your future in peace.”
“You just come find me when you’re ready.”
“We don’t know what happened yet.”
“Anything you want to say about this?”
“There are much better ways to pass your time here.”
“I know we’re going to spend a lot of time together but it wouldn’t kill you to at least pretend to be interested in getting to know me.”
“I was haunted by all the jokes they made when I was gone.”
“Okay, that’s where you’re supposed to laugh.”
“Still fixating, aren’t you?”
“Besides even if they did, we would have to hide it.”
“You’re going to get us into trouble.”
“I just don’t feel comfortable with you watching me like this. I feel very exposed right now.”
“Now’s not really a good time.”
“Current unsolved mystery. Pleasure.”
“Why does that sound familiar?”
“I can’t really talk right now. ‘Cause I have some holes in my memory to fill.”
“That’s why I’m here. I can–I can totally help you fill your holes.”
“Um, okay. I obviously didn’t mean for it to come off that way. In my head, it was more of, like a metaphoric–I can help you figure things out if you need it. ”
“You know what they say. Bros before strong independent women with bright futures. It’s a very popular phrase.”
“What the lord deny in brain, he deliver in beauty.”
“And boy did he deny.”
“Hey. Maybe it’s a good thing you don’t remember everything okay? Sometimes I wish I could forget.”
“I need you to force a confession out of someone.”
“I need you channel all your ghostly energy and dangle this sack of shit out of a window until he cracks.”
“Maybe this doesn’t jive your fantasy of what this should be, but we’re quite literally a world away. We’re not there, we’re here.”
“Talking about it won’t change anything. If I have to search this entire town for answers I’ll do it. I’m not willing to give up like the rest of you.”
“You gotta try to think about it as encouraging right? Like, at some point, you’ll be able to laugh about what happened to you.”
“I don’t know why you got diverted from the highway of life. But I really do believe that the easiest way to miss your exit if you’re always staring in the rearview mirror.”
“Nothing behind me, everything ahead of me, as is ever so on the road. ”
“I was protecting her.”
“For the record, it wasn’t an empty gesture.”
“Something happened. I know it did. Something bad.”
“She’s never gone silent on me before. That’s how I know something happened to her. She wouldn’t just disappear.”
“I don’t know how I’m going to survive this place without her.”

Alright everyone I ended up making an RP blog for Maddie from School Spirit. Obviously that's the primary fandom but I'm open to interact with just about any fandom that I can see Maddie being able to interact with. Some of those include American Horror Story, the show Ghosts, Supernatural, the X Files, or just about anything else that has or can have a supernatural theme to it.
