@supernatural-sanctuaryâ:
âIâm looking for some clovers, and some wild flower petalsâŚdepending on what grows wild around here.â Izzie continued to rattle off plants, but the feyâs attention was suddenly somewhere else.
Amaranth heard the approach of the being before Izzie, but it was to be expected. As much as Izzie traveled the woods, he wasnât as in tune with the noises of the forest as Amaranth was.
Amaranth placed his hand against a tree, using it as leverage as he leaned over the bushes, peering at the creature.
Not a fey creature, but not a human either. What a curious thing.
âWhat was that?!â Izzie jumped at the snap of a twig. He may like being in the forest at night but he wasnât completely ignorant to what dangers lurked in such places.
Once he noticed Amaranth leaning over a few bush, he approached, peeking around his taller companion. âWhat is it?â
Id widened his eyes, still stepping back, only to have his back touch against a tree. He could climb it, of course, but his instincts told him he shouldnât take his eyes off those two.
His eyes quickly turned into a bright red color, his tail fur had stiffened and even the hair at the back of his head, even if just a small bit. He opened his mouth, fangs were visible, and he tried his best not to make any kind of sound, but it was difficult to hold back the low growl he made.
His heart was pounding against his chest. He wanted to make clear that he wouldnât attack them if he was left alone, but he still felt the need to show that he could and would protect himself if needed.

Id heard voices, he couldnât really understand what they were saying, but he could clearly tell they were approaching. He quicly sniffed the air, trying to guess what kind of creature was walking at this time in the woods.
He carefully approached them, being sure to keep himself behind the trees and bushes until he was sure he wasnât in any kind of danger. His tail moved slowly behind him as he tried to focus on all sorts of scents that they were giving off.
A fary? he seemed interested by this fact, overly curious, he couldnât really tell if he had ever gotten close to one before, after all. But when his nose got the hint of a human, his eyes widened a small bit and he stepped back quickly.
The snap of a stick could be heard, and Id turned his attention quickly to the two after the bushes, hoping hey wouldnât see him if he didnât move.
Open Starter (Amaranth & Izzie)
It was great to get out of the city and spend time in the forest at night.
Too bad he was also babysitting.
âI hope you donât mind me tagging along! I just really needed to get some herbs and you know the forest best soâŚI hope Iâm not being bothersome!â
He couldnât lie, but he could evade. âWhat are you looking for?â

unicornisms:Â
Sytir couldnât help smiling brightly as he nodded and sent the feeling of happiness and pride in a success to show Id that he had said his name somewhat correctly. It was close enough.
âId?â Sytir offered, repeating the name as well, just to make sure heâd heard it right.
Orrand sighed, he could theoretically snoop on the conversation Sytir was having with Id, but he doubted it would be very interesting. If the guy wasnât able to speak, sending fully worded thoughts might not be possible, especially if they communicated in a different way, so more likely than not, Sytir was using emotions and maybe pictures to describe what he wanted.
The whole thing sounded tiring and dull, but Sytir looked happy, so he didnât get involved.
Sytir tried to think of something he could ask, maybe he could ask Id to show them around? Or maybe he could ask him what he did for fun? Or about the world? No that might be too complex.
Maybe he could try sending more complex thoughts and see how they translated. He didnât want to delve into Idâs head and pull up memories to describe what he was asking, that seemed a little intrusiveâŚ
So he sent Id a picture of the forest and walking through it, just an endless forest, along with curiosity and confusion, and he threw in a thought. Is this all there is? Or is there more to your world?
To explain better he started adding vague outlines of villages and buildings and people, keeping up the underlying emotion of curiosity and a touch of confusion to pose it as a question.
âId.â The hong repeated with a nod. It was the first time he could actually understand a human without it being difficult or too tiring. It felt nice to talk to him!
As soon as he could see images of a village, Id widened his eyes. Of course he knew where the village with other humans was, she liked to go there and watch them when he was bored, but he had never taken someone with him, he didnât know if they could hide well, or even if she would get in trouble for taking them there.
The boy looked away from them, frowning as he thought about it, then quietly stared walking towards the small village he knew there was not far away from the forest.Â
He was still paying attention on the two men behind him, trying to think of a way to tell them to be quiet and be careful not to be seen by anyone. He didnât know how they got so lost, but he knew they couldnât trust on those humans.Â

unicornisms:Â Â
Sytir watched the being curiously as it slowly dawned on him that he couldnât understand him. So he smiled, without showing teeth, and sent out wordless thoughts of friendliness accompanied by feelings of calmness and peace and safety to the creature.
He then focused on pictures, focusing on the image of the being coming down from the tree plus a mix of a question into the image, hoping it came across that he was asking him to come down from the tree. He took care to make sure to only send the picture and not force the action on the creature. As a kid he could force people to do anything he wanted and sometimes did it accidentally, but heâd gotten much better at controlling his powers since then (of course, most of the times heâd been controlling them on purpose, but heâd gotten past that stage in his life).
He then wordlessly asked for the creatureâs name using the continued feeling of friendliness and a touch of curiosity, stepping back from the tree to give the creature and pointing to himself. âSytir.â
He then motioned to his companion, âOrrand.â
He finally pointed his finger at the being and sent some feelings of light confusion and curiosity.
âIs all the mind magic really necessary?â Orrand rolled his eyes.
Sytir stayed silent but shot Orrand a glance, along with the thought, he doesnât understand us.
Then he turned his attention back to the being, giving him a respectful distance and motioning for Orrand to do the same. The unicorn rolled his eyes but did as instructed.
Id frowned as soon as he could notice the thoughts appearing in his mind. He continued watching both men closely, not sure of what was happening, but soon enough the feeling of safety reached him and he slowly calmed down about having them around. The red in his eyes slowly fading back to the light blue it normally was.
The hong stepped away from from his hidden spot, so he could look at them better, his tail moving calmly behind him. He looked down at the ground where the brunette seemed to want him to go, but quickly glanced at the white haired one before returning his gaze to the one who seemed to be speaking to him.
When Sytir said his name, though Id nodded before pointing to himself, mimicking the man. âId.â He replied, blinking at him as he sat down on the branch, dangling his legs as he watched them.
âOrrrr-and... See-teerrrâ He decided to try those sounds on his mouth, though, so he repeated the names he had heard, looking at each other them as he spoke.
He didnât know humans could do that, though. He couldnât understand why any other even tried to understand him or any of his kind every time they tried to speak to them.

Sytir looked around the forest heâd appeared in. He was a little disappointed theyâd appeared in a forest. He wanted to see something new. Then again, the trees werenât as big here as they were back home.
Then he felt thoughts and turned around, staring directly at the eyes peering out from the tree branches.
The being seemed curious from itâs thoughts so he moved closer, âHello?â
He stopped under the tree looking up.
âOh, you look humanâŚish.â His eyes trailed to the tail, then moved back to the strangerâs face.
Orrand followed behind him, stopping under the tree as well and placing his hands on his hips, âHe could be dangerous.â
Sytir didnât look back at Orrand, already feeling his worried thoughts, but realized with his large bow hanging across his back, he might not be the most friendly looking. But if he moved to take it off, he might scare this being, so he lifted his hands in a placating gesture, âWeâre friendly.â
âSpeak for yourself.â Orrand scoffed, but he never took his eyes off the creature, glaring at it. He was at least not a fool like Sytir and 100% ready to yank Sytir away from the tree. His rider was far too close to the creature in Orrandâs opinion.
Sytir sighed, correcting himself: ââŚIâm friendly.â
Id was distracted playing with a leaf when he noticed something appearing on his field of vision. He quickly jumped back, surprised by seeing two men standing so close to him, but all he did was hide a bit better, so he could still watch them. He blinked, his eyes quickly turning red as soon as they made contact with the brunette's ones.
His eyes were wide opened when the man spoke. His tail moving quickly from side to side as he tried to think of a way he could get out of there.
Hello? He had heard that word before, but at this moment, the meaning of word was the last thing he could think of. The Hong hissed at the brunette as he approached, standing on the tree's branch, ready to climb it higher if need be.
As soon as the white haired man moved closer, Id watched him curiously. He didnât smell like a human, how wasnât he scare of him? Maybe it was because he looked so similar?Â
Red eyes moved from one man to the other as they kept talking, watching them with as much attention as he could. Id tried to hide himself a bit more behind the tree branch, he didnât like how the white haired man kept staring at him. He bared his fangs at him a small bit, a soft hiss coming out of his mouth.
Surprisingly enough, the human didnât give off to be as dangerous as the white haired weird being, but heâd remain hidden and paying attention to both of them, anyway.

⽠| Hmm. Maybe she wasnât doing this right. The poor thing still looked pretty scared of her⌠which was a new experience for Pidge, so accustomed to being doubted, brushed off, or ignored for her size, rather than met with fright.
âHow does Allura do this diplomacy thing?â the paladin mused aloud. She wasnât certain the stranger could understand her. Although not an expert on facial expressions or body language, she didnât think she noticed any recognition on his face when she spoke earlier. Maybe a different approach would be better. But what?
Pidge grimaced as an idea occurred to her. It was silly, but she didnât see any other option in the immediate. Crouching, she pressed a hand to her chest and spoke as clearly as she could, âMe, Pidge. P-i-d-g-e. YouâŚ?â She pointed to him then, expectant and hopefulâand more than a little embarrassed to be resorting to the Tarzan method of introduction.
Id watched her, as she crouched, still scared of what she could do. When she spoke, though, the black haired boy tilted his head, eyes softening a small bit, though still red.
âPige...â He tried to repeat, quietly, then noticed her hand pointing at him, his eyes following the direction, making him look at his own chest and blink. The hong looked back at her, placing his own hand over his chest. âId.â He replied.
She looked a bit less dangerous being crouched on the ground near him and Id looked a bit more curious, though still wary about her. He slowly sat up more comfortably, his eyes never leaving this Pige girl.

frxzenprisoner:Â
ââTHIS WAS⌠WELL, definitely not something you see everyday.
Kirumiâs eyes were practically hypnotized by the strange strangerâs tail and the way it moved. It didnât look mechanical, which either meant it was being pulled strings or that it was REAL.
Still not entirely grasping the situation, he felt himself stumble back slightly. This was weird as hell. Situations where he couldnât read what was going on caused him to panic a little, and a mix of human and animal behaviour he had studied merged together in his head.
âHey,â Kirumi started, crouching a bit. He took a tentative step towards them. âYou alright there? Can I get you some helpâŚ?â
As soon as the human moved closer to him, Id took a step back as well. He blinked, eyes moving over his form, tyring to read him as best as he could. His voice sounded calm, though, which was weird.Â
The hong tilted his head, trying to understand him. Sometimes he hated the fact that he didnât know any other language than his own. His tail wrapped around his leg as soon as he stepped back and could feel a tree behind him. If anything happened, he could climb it quickly. That he was good at.

âWaitâŚmaybeâŚâ
Yunneth pulled out her phone ad pulled up a search result for the word âbreadâ. The definition, a picture, and more importantly, the pronunciation was right there. Extending her phone towards the boy, she looked at him then pointed at the pronunciation.
âI donât know if you can read thatâŚbut it will helpâŚâ
It was worth a shot at the very least. If that doesnât work, she may have to teach him English.
Id looked at the small device she had in her hands, blinking once she turned it to him. He could see some symbols written on that, but couldnât quite make some sense out of it. âBrrred?â He tried, gaze moving to the girl, tilting his head and blinking softly.Â
He reached out to look at the device, looking curiously at it. It seemed to glow, where the symbols were showing up. He pointed at the device then looked at Yune, poking what she was holding softly.

âBrrrr-redâ
Yunneth was trying to act out the syllables if she could. First she acted as if she was freezing. Her stockings were black and red striped and she was using the red color for the next syllable.
âTry that.â
Yunneth hoped that would be enough to help get the pronunciation down.
The boy tilted his head at what she did, but he could still recognize the word. She was trying to help him? He smiled at her. âBurrrred... Brrrredâ He finally said, sounding like he was mimicking a catâs purr.Â
He looked curiously at her stockings, though. He hadnât really given it much attention, but he had noticed her pointing at it, but he couldnât quite understand what she wanted to tell him with that.

Id never had any kind of trouble in walking around the forest at night. It was the time where he could find a few lost small animals and either eat them if he was feeling hungry or help them find their way home, but most of all: Humans werenât awake at night.
It usually was something upsetting, since the hong enjoyied to watch those creatures, but he knew how dangerous they could be.
When he heard a voice coming from behind him, though, the boy felt his tail stiffen as did his whole body. What should he do? Run away? But wouldnât that call the creatureâs attention? He sniffed the air, trying to make sure it was a human who was following him and, the smell reaching his noistrils only made the hong shiver.
His eyes turned bright red and he tried his best not to growl at the other, turning around to look at him, eyes completely wide. What was he doing in the middle of the forest? Shoudnât he be outside like everyone else?
Id continued to step back, away from him as his tail swayied quickly from side to side, showing his nervousness.
âââExcuse me, sir?â Kirumi started pacing towards the stranger as he spoke. His voice was a bit above itâs usual volume â both to call out to whoever it was and to try and put a bit of authority to his voice. âYouâre not supposed to be loitering around this forest at this time of night. This is currently a restricted area.â
This was supposed to be a short gig, a few days tops. Some rich family had rented out the park and the area around it, and his job was to patrol and keep out anybody who wasnât supposed to be there. His patrol had let him a bit deeper into the forest than he probably should be, but it was still TECHNICALLY part of the park area, and he did have a job to do.Â
The closer he got to the intruder, however, the more of his features he started to pick out. Was that⌠a tail?
âAre you some kind of⌠cosplayer?â Kirumi asked, tilting his head to the side a bit as he studied them. What an odd time of night to be out and dressed up.Â

pridedwings:
Shade frowned. It was a shake of the head, and more importantly, the eyes showed no recognition. He stopped in his tracks and thought for a while. Maybe the language of demons? âHow about now,â he tried in a different tongue, âAre you relative of the imps? Can you understand the language they use?â He realized he could be stuck doing this all day, trying each and every language he knew, but he was beginning to doubt any would work. What then, if he couldnât find an effective way to communicate with the creature? Perhaps he should⌠draw something?
Id tilted his head, confused at the man right in front of him as he continued to say different words to him. He couldnât understand any of them. Being stuck in the middle of the woods for so long made them develop their own language, which was good and made it easy to spot people who werenât from there, but it sure was difficult to communicate with anyone else. Body language was easy for him, but he wasnât sure if it was the same for other species.
The hong started sniffing the air, trying to find out what he was. He didnât smell like a human, so... what was he?
His tail unwrapped itself from his tail and he stepped closer to him, still sniffing softly.
