ACT: FALL DOWN SEVEN TIMES, STAND UP EIGHT

As they keep close to the ground they hunch forward. Arms cross atop their knees as the child cants their head to the side and perks only when approached. A pair of almond shaped eyes study the cyborg and they take a deep breath.

Although their heart is heavy they decide it’s best to move past that. Negative feelings on attract negativity and from what they’ve learned from omnics it’s that one must be positively charged. Their left wrist swiped below their nose and they clear out their throat. Standing back up they nod firmly. 

They’re alright and to let him know that they’re fine they give him the biggest smile they can muster. 

     There’s small pause on his end, a faint hissing noise as the modules on his shoulders released some steam. He walks towards the child, getting down on one knee so he was closer to their height.

     He could tell by the smile that they were okay and he gave a small nod in return. “You are a tough one. Brave too.” His helmet may not allow him to show much emotion, but he hoped that the tone of his voice would be able to convey the meaning he intended.

     “You seem like you are far from home little one. Are you lost?”

     “I ate more than my fair share of it in my youth, I’m well aware. I appreciate your concerns, doctor, I’ll be sure to choose something healthier for my next meal if it will give you peace of mind.”

█ ║► Waiting for her friend to clear the room, Angela observed the feed before using the device to unlock the door in front of her and lock the one behind them. once she entered the building she gazed upon the four pairs of unconscious bodies, sometimes it was surprising just to see Genji’s effectiveness in person.

Turning to the man, she placed a hand on his armoured shoulder, nodding at him before turning to a side of the room, moving around papers and weapons, trying to find something for them to use, something for them to learn information from.

Grabbing a stack fo paper files, Angela peered through each page, going over each line, one by one. Watching for any useful or pertinent information. Several papers were internal memos, mentioning operations that already took place, involving Gabriel, Amélie and the hacker.

Every paper that was useless or unimportant, the woman threw over her shoulder, letting them clutter across the floor, it was beginning to pile up. That’s until she found a paper mentioning an operation that had yet to take place, which seemed to be targeting a site in Iraq, colloquially known among people as ‘the Oasis’, it was a sprawling complex, with a highway surrounding it, there was even a university there.

It seemed to be a perfect target for TALON.

“Found anything on your side? I’ve got something here.”

     As the doctor scanned her side of the room, Genji took to doing the same on the opposite side. He could hear the papers stacking up behind him, the sound clearly giving the impression that the doctor hadn’t found anything of yet. Genji’s side seemed to contain far less paperwork however. Guns, guns and more guns, all of which resembling that of the average Talon operative.

     That is, except for one.

     It seemed more akin to a prototype than a ready-for-combat weapon, considering a lot of the parts appeared incomplete or simply there for the sake of making tests a more streamlined process. He could conclude it was some sort of rifle, though it’s exact purpose he couldn’t come to a conclusion on; the parts didn’t seem to match up with something that would fire a regular old bullet. What he could conclude was that this with something definitely worth taking back and having somebody look into, so he quickly grabbed it, just as Angela called out.

     “It would seem we both have something of merit then,” He holds up the rifle, making his way over to look at the papers in her hand. Oasis. He had heard of that area. A place that was a polar opposite to what people would expect of city located in such a barren area. Goes to show how far technology had come. “It would seem as though Oasis is the stage for their next attack. The location for our next mission seems quite clear, wouldn’t you agree, Doctor Ziegler?”

STRANGER.

“ You can “ their accent was heavy, a foreigner possibly? Travis analyzed the other’s appearance finally being up close to see the vast amount of details on his suit mech thing ( the name is still under construction for the time being ) ? “ What the fuck are you? Some type of robo cop? It looks fucking rad! “ no need to be around the bush or anything.

     Well, he certainly had some colourful language on offer. Still, he could appreciate his bluntness, instead of trying to make unnecessary, awkward small talk first.  “I am both man and machine, the mechanical parts of my body are what keep me alive. So, I suppose ‘robocop’ is a somewhat accurate comparison.”

█ ║► As the man climbed towards the ceiling, Angela stuck to wall after entering the room she peered around the corner, watching as the man knocked out a pair of guards. She locked the door behind her. 

Accessing the cameras in the next room, she looked around for any guards, managing to locate at least 8 guards in the next room, the security was increased in the next room, it looked like an armoury. Weapons lining the walls, Angela spotted several terminals in the room, perhaps they contained pertinent information.

Her eyes snapped upwards, spotting the Japanese man approaching, and asking her a question.

“Yes. We should look for any plans they have, any personnel files they have, projects, anything really, anything that can be helpful to us.”

Quickly bringing up the feed, she showed Genji the details fo the next room.

“Looks like 8 guards, heavily armed, with weapons laying around if need be, could have some information, but the files might be further inward, towards the centre of the base.”

     He peers down onto the screen, noting all of the guards. Significantly more than he’d been dealing with before, and with them being much more equipped than others, they would prove to make things a little more challenging than before. So long as he worked with the same finesse as before, they should be able to maintain their non-lethal approach.

     “Perhaps it would be worth thoroughly investigating the room once our ‘friends’ have been dealt with.” He turns around and makes his way into the next room, using the ceiling to aid his assault for the third time.

     Once again, the guards were roaming the room in pairs, which made it easy for Genji to drop down and strike, but this time he made sure to strike in places where the guards wouldn’t likely cross paths, to avoid anyone picking up on both his and Ziegler’s presence. It took longer than he expected, but he took down all of the guards, two by two until they were all unconscious lumps scattered across the floor.

     With the guards dealt with, Genji began investigating the room, searching for anything that could be of  interest to them.
