Commercial bank loans, specifically syndicated loans, are the primary mechanism to fund infrastructure; the bond market is still developing. Construction Industry: Major Contributor towards Energy Consumption and Carbon Emission
Recently “2021 global status report for building and construction” has been published under the UN environment programme. Most important information of the report is that the construction sector is responsible for 37% of global Carbon emissions and 36% of global energy consumption. As per the report major reason behind this trend is the lack of real transformation in the sector and this in turn contributing to dangerous climate change. Since the signing of the Paris agreement in 2015, CO2 emissions from the buildings and construction sector have increased and subsequently fallen in 2020. This current decline is due mostly to the COVID-19 pandemic, whereas transformative, long-term progress in sector decarbonizing remains limited. In 2015, the construction and operation of buildings was responsible for 38 per cent (13.1 gigatons) of global energy-related carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions. By 2020, CO 2 emissions in the sector had fallen an estimated 10 per cent to 11.7 gigatons, a level not seen since 2007. Still the sector's energy consumption and carbon emission global share did not change, and the trend is looking threatening due to upcoming demands. These numbers 36% and 37% comes from both construction and operation of the buildings (resident + Commercials). So, there are various factors contributing to energy consumption and carbon emission apart from construction materials. So, from the figure we can see 27% carbon emission comes from building operations and 10% from construction activities. Technology in Construction industry
Every sector in the world is adopting modern technologies to optimise delivery. Delivery could be in terms of minimising time, minimising human inference/error, maximising output. Construction industry also could not be escaped from this technology driven world. It is developing multiple new age software based on machine learning and AI to solve on site issues. Few of the areas where research and developments are going are: 
Survey - Aerial survey through advanced drone will help in reducing both manpower and unreachable terrain issue. Few of the key challenges are having high battery life to complete survey in one go as it is difficult to get charging stations in remote areas. Drones should be trained properly to fetch all possible required data without any error. Continuous connectivity with drone from the base station needs good network bandwidth which was not available in most areas.
BIM software - BIM is an acronym for Building Information Modeling or Building Information Management. It enables architects, engineers, developers, contractors, fabricators, and other construction professionals to plan, design, and build any structure or building in a single 3D model. It may also involve the management and operation of a building (and therefore the management of building information) using data that is accessible to the owner of the building or facility. This data allows governments, municipalities, and property managers to make informed decisions based on the information provided by the model, even after the construction of the building.
Inspection and Error minimization – Regular inspection is one of the manpower and time-consuming activity in construction industry. Still after putting so much money also we never gets 100% assurance on safety and quality. One of the major reason behind this gap is human error and this can be eradicated by using ML and AI. Machine will be trained through deep leaning and AI technology to take decisions at every step. Major challenge will be collecting good quality of data which will be used in training machine.
3D Printing - 3D printing as a construction technology can change the source of materials. For prefabrication, project materials can be printed and shipped to the site for immediate use. This allows you to get to the hardware faster and simplify the process by eliminating extra steps in between. 3D printing allows direct printing of materials at the construction site, reducing waste, transport and storage costs. However, one of the current challenges associated with adopting this technology is limiting mass production. Some 3D printers can be made on a large scale, but they are very expensive.
Data collection – For future optimization through various methods needs qualified data. So, data should be collected and recorded at every stage of the construction project.

Construction Industry: major contributor towards Energy consumption and carbon emission
Recently “2021 global status report for building and construction” has been published under the UN environment programme. Most important information of the report is that construction sector is responsible for 37% of global Carbon emissions and 36% of global energy consumption. As per the report major reason behind this trend is the lack of real transformation in the sector and this in turn contributing to dangerous climate change. Since the signing of the Paris agreement in 2015, CO2 emissions from the buildings and construction sector have increased and subsequently fallen in 2020. This current decline is due mostly to the COVID-19 pandemic, whereas transformative, long-term progress in sector decarbonizing remains limited. In 2015, the construction and operation of buildings was responsible for 38 per cent (13.1 gigatons) of global energy-related carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions. By 2020, CO 2 emissions in the sector had fallen an estimated 10 per cent to 11.7 gigatons, a level not seen since 2007. Still sector’s energy consumption and carbon emission global share did not change, and trend is looking threatening due to upcoming demands. These numbers 36% and 37% comes from both construction and operation of the buildings (resident + Commercials). So, there are various factors contributing to energy consumption and carbon emission apart from construction materials. So, from the figure we can see 27% carbon emission comes from building operations and 10% from construction activities. While in energy demand part operation stands at 30% and construction activity at 6%.
While there is some progress in energy investment and power decarbonization, a negative rebound in overall progress should be expected unless building sector decarbonization efforts significantly increase. The only way to put a hold on this trend is to implement sustainable construction and operation practices.

Critical Path Method
Creating a project roadmap helps you visualize what you need to do in order to achieve the desired goal. Critical method helps in creating the construction road map. This is a construction management technique that involves mapping out key or basic activities that are required for completing a business along with their timelines. Thus, also helps in identifying critical activities in the project which will majorly decide project success criteria.
