Her clear gaze set a fire to my pupils, as a shiver traveled towards my lower back. Sensing the tailbone, I lit up. Crashed on both knees, the way a car swerves off a bridge, through the metal fence colliding its front, folded like a crumpled-up note. I was weak, which is why it all occurred so quickly. But I crashed. And I was at her feet.
