For those outside of America going "why don't you fight back" or "don't you guys know what's going on?" let me explain something to you.

We know.

There is nothing a lot of us can do right now.

We are either minorities surrounded by Trump supporters or struggling to make ends meet or (most likely) both.

These first few days are designed to exhaust us. It's the same tactic he used during his first administration. Overwhelm the media and the masses so that the more sinister things he does gets swept under the rug.

And honestly, a lot of us are checked out because we spent the last four years warning people about a second term because our lives were on the line and those we thought cared about us proved they didn't.

And now we're just trying to find some sort of semblance of happiness in this joyless world we're now living in. We fight when we can, we bring attention to what we can, but a lot of us are just fucking exhausted.

So please, cut us some slack. We've been fighting for the last eight years, we still have to fight for the next four.

Right now, survival is the only rebellion we have.

We're super excited to announce The Diagon Film Festival! 🎬

The fest is dedicated to AUs based upon some of our favourite films! Films of all genres, eras, and languages are welcome. 🎬 We hope you’ll join us!

This fest is open to ALL Harry Potter generations including Marauders, Golden Era, and Next Gen. All pairings are welcome!

Writers, artists, video editors, and betas are all welcome. We'd love it if you joined us! This is an 18+ only fest.

🎭 Creating

All ships from all generations are welcome (Marauders, Golden Era, and Next Gen). This is not a ship-specific or generation-specific fest.

There is a minimum word count of 1,000 words for all submitted fics. For podfics, the recorded story should be a minimum of 1,000 words. There is no maximum for either fics or podfics.

Multi-chapter fics are allowed, but you must finish the first chapter of the fic by the submission deadline.

Dead dove and NSFW are allowed, but all works must be tagged appropriately! In light of the various topics discussed and portrayed in film, please consider yourself, your fellow participants, and your readers when discussing any themes that may be sensitive for others. 

Collaborations are welcome!

A beta is not required for a fic to be submitted to the fest, though you're more than welcome to use an outside beta if you'd like (and there are other participants in the Discord server happy to help out).

There is a 1,000 word minimum for all submitted fics. There is no maximum.

All submissions are due on May 1, 2025, by 11:59 PM GMT. If you need an extension or to drop out, please let the fest mods know ASAP so we can adjust the posting schedules.

Maybe I don’t have anxiety. Maybe I’m so scared all the time on account of it all being so scary.

I would also just like to point out that once you finally are approved to switch medications, the process is extremely costly, time consuming, and physically demanding.

it takes weeks to safely transition from one medication to another, several doctor appointments, multiple EEGs, double the prescriptions. lots and lots and lots of insurance dollars.

and while the insurance company gets to maximize their profit, a child is being sleep deprived (which increases the risk of seizures) and then drugged for EEGs, being constantly monitored and examined, trying to handle the changes in side effects from the medications, and dealing with huge disruptions in their schedules. not to mention the caregivers that have to be responsible for all of this while struggling with the anxiety that anything could go wrong at any given moment.

but who cares about that, right? there's money to be made. and it certainly will be. the price is only the health and safety of children, after all.

Hey, if you do crafts (especially things like crochet, knitting, embroidery, etc), make sure to look up how to identify when a listing is AI generated. You do NOT want to waste money on an incredible looking kit or pattern that is physically impossible to make, especially if you're on sites like etsy hoping to support an actual artist.
