Mastery Journal: Business Plan Development
I could say that this class moved along really fast. I have just only one month to my Master so far. At the first time, I was really worried about this class because I had heard that there are many writing and researching on assignments. In fact, it was not that hard or too difficult for me as I thought. It was more interesting than I expected. Ten months ago, I had submitted my PLN Journal in Mastery: Mastery: Personal Development and Leadership, my original goal that I had for this course was to reflect back on the previous classes were taken and link them all together to begin developing a formal business plan in the proper way. Let’s see what I have learned during these four weeks. This class will take everything I have learned for ten months and then combined them into the basics that I will need to have a basic business plan. In addition, this class is also designed to give the students an opportunity to research, develop and create a realistic business plan. I had to write final documents for my business plan such as company description, industry analysis, marketing, and sales plan, operation, and organization. As I mentioned before, I learned to create a final business plan paper for each three weeks. I wrote final documents and financial statement for my business plan. I learned to develop a financial statement spreadsheet in realistic numbers. All numbers were realistic and related to the entertainment industry. Furthermore, the very experienced course director, Ph.D.Steve Burhoe has gone through and carefully picked each part that is most needed in a business plan that I will in the future help me out when looking for investors or financial support from other sources. In this course, all documents were prepared in order to put them all down in the final business plan paper. I can’t say that this class is an easy month class because all of the hard work I put into all the other ten classes has been putting all the information together in this month.  Especially, I did a lot of research and analyzing target market and the business market for my business plan. These actually helped me understand better what I am facing when I start my business. While I was writing the business on each week, it seemed the more I thoroughly researched and wrote it, the more my future business becomes visible.

Mastery Journal: Digital Marketing
Ah…...First of all, I want to say that I really was surprised that I have to write the mastery journal just in the second week of the class, that is so fast but not too difficult to say something about this class. As the first time I heard the name of this class “Digital Marketing”, I thought it might have to do something or use the brand to promote or advertise service and product in order to get money by using digital technology such as the internet, mobile phone, and social media because nowadays people have grown up in a world revolving around digital technology. Moreover, people heavy reliance and use of the Internet and digital technology. Nine months ago, I had submitted my PLN Journal in Mastery: Mastery: Personal Development and Leadership, my goals of this course took my marketing knowledge and apply to digital platforms to reach the wider audiences. In fact, there are a lot of information on digital marketing class and a lot of things to take away. It is more interesting that I thought.
Let’s see what I have learned during these two weeks so far. First of all, this course has provided digital marketing strategies and how to apply for my business plan. I have learned to manage Search Engine Optimization (SEO), what SEO is. And I learned Social Media Optimization (SMO), what SMO is.

Furthermore, I also gained knowledge on using Internet marketing techniques such as email marketing, blog marketing, pay per click, digital advertising and affiliate marketing. In additional, I learned to use Google Account (Google Analytics, AdWords) to help measure the effectiveness of websites.

Again, let’s see what I have achieved during these two weeks. I have created and developing a marketing plan by using the objective statement, goals, KPIs, and targets for my business plan. I gained benefits from social networking by creating many accounts that are necessary for my business plans such as email marketing, Google Account, and social media management.
Lastly, I was really enjoying calculate on all conversion term like conversion rate, conversion value, and conversion cost. These are new knowledge that I had never realized them before. I can say this course is one of the most important, interesting, and useful courses in the entire program, which I could apply it to my business.

Mastery Journal: Entertainment Media Publishing and Distribution
I could say that this class moved along super fast. I have just three months to the Master so far. In the beginning, I was blank what was this class about as the past four classes pretty much related to each other. Looking at the name that it would have something to do with how to successfully distribute content online. This class might be different, I thought. In the fact, let’s think, you have a completed project that is ready to be announced to the public. What will you have to do next? Yes. You need to think how you will publish and distribute your project to the market. It is the art of publishing and distributing your idea to the world.
In order to understand the role of publishing and distribution, you will need to understand their types and forms. In this class, I learned about traditional and digital publishing and distributing models for entertainment media such as print, music, book and audiovisual. I also learned to create a query letter to an agent. A query letter is very important in order to introduce you and your work to an agent. Moreover, I learned to create a book proposal for my fiction book. I learned to develop a self-publishing business strategy. The most important this I learned is that money is not the main objective of publishing and distributing anymore. Social networking and technology make the process of publishing and distributing a lot easier than the past. For example, we currently have a new technology called "Print on Demand” which means we do not have to stock books/CD/DVD in storages and wait for customers to buy it. With Print on Demand, products will be produced only when someone orders them. Nice? Yes!!!

Mastery Journal -- Advanced Entertainment Law
‘LAW LAW LAW’…… I was really worried about this class since I saw the name of the class on my program schedule because I have very little interested in the deep detail of law, statute, or regulation. I really believed that there are no others classes could challenge me like this class. In my opinion, Advanced Entertainment Law was the extremely difficult course in the program that I have had during these eight months so far as its vocabularies, a very complex scenario, and the legislation. In the same time, it was a very interesting class, and the Professor Cassi Willard was a high skilled and much-experienced course director in the law field. During the class, she always presented many case law that was really interesting, some case I have never realized that could happen in the business. This class moved along so fast than I thought.
What I learned. Throughout the course I learned, my thought was slightly changed. Law is not boring detail as I ever thought. It was more interesting than I expected. I learned legal terminology, the different court levels which relate to the jurisdiction, what law applies, how to deal with the breach of contract, how to deal with any copyright infringement, and how to register a patent as well. Moreover, the additional liabilities are not only inserted into the presentation assignments but also in our discussion in the class as well.
What I achieved. To sum up, I enjoyed this class and every assignment were fun and useful even they were a little bit difficult to me. Overall, this course is so essential to me; I gained the necessary knowledge about legal through all assessment tests, which could happen in the future, and they are adaptable to my business

Mastery Journal -- Product and Artist Management
Honestly, this course was one of the others courses that I was looking forward to studying in the program. This class moved along so fast. In the beginning, I thought this class might more involve with artists dealing, like being an artist manager but it was not. This course has probably been my most tough course because I do not know well about western singers and artists or TV, music industry, all hard for me. I want to do well on my business plan and presentation.
In this Product and Artist Management class, I realized the importance of branding, marketing, time management, and advertising. It liked a combination of three classes “Business Storytelling & Branding”, “Negotiation & Deal Making” and “Product and Artist Management.”
What I learned.
During this course, my thought was slightly changed. It was more interesting than I expected. First of all, the Professor Christine Winn was a skilled and much-experienced course director in the entertainment industry. Second, four discussion posts and all assignments involved with the deep detail of management and business such as artist, time, leadership styles, money, marketing, budget, and strategy. Show business is the business of the show. I learned how to make money from the product.
What I achieved.
To sum it up, I enjoyed this class. The assignments were fun and useful even I did not have much time to complete them well or they were a little bit difficult for me. (lol) Overall, I gained the necessary tools that I need to know how to manage my artist. As I stated on the first day of class that the entertainment industry in Thailand is growing up, and there are many new talented artists. This course is so essential to me; that could help me prepare to work in the real world of the entertainment industry.

Mastery Journal -- Negotiation and Deal-Making
Honestly, this class a little freaked me out at the beginning. Naturally, my personality is not a fighter or an arguer. When arguments come, I usually will be the one who keeps quiet and accept every deal on the table. This course completely enabled me to a new person. After I had learned the objective of the course, I blended myself with the classmates and established my inner as a negotiator. Here is what I learned.
What I learned.
This course went beyond my expectations and objectives in learning the various elements of a negotiation such as autonomy, status, role, appreciation, affiliation and separate the people from the problem. These five core concerns assist in inspiring and motivating people to meet your goals as well as establish a rapport that will bring a negotiation a successful outcome. Also, I realize that a significant part of the sports industry is strategic planning and negotiation. I experienced many negotiation situations. I learned many skills needed to become a strong negotiator and dealmaker. I developed my negotiation skills. I also understand how to develop effective contracts and deal memos. I learned to put myself in each situation and played a role of a negotiator in different scenarios. Importantly, this valuable skill set can build mutually beneficial relationships throughout your career as well as your personal life.
What I achieved.
I completed a research paper about the Beatles and Apple Inc. That helped me understand how important of mutual benefits. I successfully learned to analyze and use emotions as tools to create mutually beneficial outcomes.
However, through this course, I have been able to understand how negotiations are structured along with being able to implement the concepts and theories in various situations. In my personal experience, I notice that when I witness negotiations a majority of the times, the two parties become combatants as oppose of both parties revealing their hidden interests and articulating their expectations to try to come up with a win-win outcome. Now that I have been introduced to this course, I will make a valiant effort to apply all of the principles and concepts of every negotiation to ensure a successful outcome.

Mastery Journal -- Entertainment Business Finance
This week I’ve wrapped up my fifth Master’s class, Entertainment Business Finance, here at Full Sail, which means it’s time to reflect back on what, I’ve learned. Five months ago I was given the task to read each course description and predict what I thought my goal for this class should be as well as three things I was going to do to achieve that goal. You can find a full description of all my classes here.
I have heard that Finance is the most difficult course in most business schools. To be honest with you, this course completely changed my perspective.
What I learned.
I learned to identify and evaluate business opportunity before investing business. Also, I learned to raise the required finances to fund a business or project. I did financial statement analysis that helped me to understand the financial health of companies. I understand the complex content of the financial statement such as income statement, cash flow statement, and balance sheet. In order to make investing decisions, you need to understand the financial statement of a business that you are interested in investing.
What I achieved.
I developed a financial projection including start-up costs and pro forma income statements for my business plan. The most important takeaway, for me, from this class I was understanding opportunity cost. I’ve known about opportunity cost for as long as I can remember, but it’s something I feel as if is extremely important. Often times we get caught up in the moment and allow passion to take over reasoning. It’s times like these when we allow our minds to run free and don’t think about the results of our actions, both good and bad. This class was a good reminder that risk is associated with all decisions we make, especially when it comes to building a business. Therefore, it is important to go into every decision with a level head while thinking about all the tradeoffs associated with each and every decision we make.

Mastery Journal - Business Storytelling and Brand Development
This month I learned how to develop company brands in order to ensure the company’s success as well as learning the art of storytelling to help companies deliver high quality customer experience. My expectation for the Business Storytelling & Brand Development course is how to approach clients as an individual opportunity to provide them with the best possible services.
Throughout the course I learned the difference between a brand and a brands logo as well as the importance of both. I learned how to successfully execute a brand audit, which in return taught me a great deal on what it takes in order to create an original and efficient brand; with this, along with completing an industry research brief, I was also enabled to study my own brand’s competition to better understand the industry. The “Business Model Canvas” assignment taught me how to effectively build a Business Model canvas in order to give myself somewhat of a visual checklist of my own business’s responsibilities and duties.
By the end of the course I had the knowledge to conjure up a detailed design for my brands logo and tagline, in order to have a digital designer bring my vision to life. With the last assignment, I also gained invaluable knowledge on Mission Statements, Mantras, categories of brand names, taglines and logos, corporate culture and extensive knowledge on brand identity.
Overall, I have learned that a brand is much more than just a corporate logo; it’s creating a clear corporate identity that ignites how the consumers and stockholders think and feel about a company. A company is nothing without its brand. So if you’re a business owner or plan on becoming one someday, take plenty of time to seriously consider the most effective brand for you.

Mastery Journal - Project and Team Management
The project and team management course this month was absolutely incredible!  I set for myself was to learn the essentials of project and team management for successful project/task completion.
In this course I learned the importance of brainstorming before the direct planning stages of a project occur.  The brainstorming portion really allowed me to think outside the box and be creative in the process.  Moreover, I also learned the importance of creating a project timeline and how it plays in the success of a project.  An idea without a plan is an accident waiting to happen.
The highlight of this course was the ability to work in a group with team members from all over the world.  This taught me that there is nothing impossible when a group effort is required – even with time zone and schedule conflicts.  I have a greater amount of appreciation for technology such as Skype and mobile devices, which allowed me to communicate with my group efficiently and effectively.
During this course, I also learned how to deal with various personalities in regard to project management.  According to the DiSC personality assessment, there are four categories: dominant, influential, steadfast, or compliant personalities.  Each personality trait brings something different to the table.  I believe I have been empowered with the ability as a project manager to identify a person’s personality trait, wait the trait entails, and how to work hand in hand for a projects overall success individually and corporately.  However, the most important objective of this course in my opinion would be the ability to create a conflict resolution policy, which is a guide that promotes respect, forgiveness, and unity through an effective communication process that will fan out conflict for the sake of the project/team.
In the characters study that we viewed as a class such as TV host, rock climbing. This is an important lesson of unity as it relates to project and team management and I believe we all can learn from it. Teams work together and not divided.  We are limited as individuals, but as a unified force, we can conquer.

Mastery Journal: Leadership
Currently, my journey of Entertainment Business Master Degree is in the second month class, which is Executive Leadership class. I have studied beyond real world various types of leadership styles through two different books. One, I have learned the traits of leaders through Maxwell’s book entitled “Developing the Leadership Within You”, and I have also learned example of leaders through Robert Green’s book, “The 48 Laws of Power”.
After the class, I have usually determined myself which leadership style I am. I think my leadership style is a combination of both Maxwell and Greene. I believe, "knowledge is endless." This statement characterizes my belief willingness and eagerness to learn. Looking back at my early life, as other’s insulting word, I was “self- disciplined” for my studies. I put as much effort into studying harder than the past in order to pass the public university entrance examination. I thought everyone could do it, so why could not I. Since then, I adapted myself to the new circumstance; I stopped playing games and watching any TV programs; I schedule time for reading, previewing, and practicing the test at least three hours everyday before getting bed. As a result, my grades have improved; it became a top ten in the high school level. After three years of endeavors, I was one of thirty students who got a certificate of outstanding academic performance from the Thailand’s royal. The certificated was handed to me by Princess Sirindhorn’s hand. That was one big success steps of my life. At the same time, the value of hard work and perseverance that contribute greatly to my success. I had also proved “Master the art of timing” of Robert Greene’ law, as I spent many years managing myself, studying hard, and waited until the right opportunity to achieve the goal.
Furthermore, I applied the traits of leadership from Maxwell’s book with my works such as problem-solving and creating positive change, as I worked in a position that had to deal with many departments and numerous clients. During the event, if something wrong had happened, I would have had to turn crisis into an opportunity in order to reach the client’s satisfaction and goal. In addition, I had applied Greene’s law 7, Get Others To Do Work For You, But Always Take The Credit. Because of several ideas from many people; I had learned to take advantage of other’s people’s works to my own.
In the future, to make my own event production company success, I am going to take this lesson from this course and then apply it to my company to led me to become an executive leader in the entertainment industry field.
