Here are a couple more photographs that I am going to put into my portfolio. From this set of photographs I would choose the top, second and last photograph because the top photograph has a sense of mystery to it. Whereas, the second photograph it looks like the women is running from someone and just sat down for five minutes to catch her breath and then just seeing the people that are after her. The final photograph also has a sense of a nice and calm feeling to it.

These are the photographs that I have chosen to place in my portfolio as I think that these are a clear demonstration of some of the work that I have done over the past couple of years. I would have included some more but I did not want to over crowed the portfolio as I know from speaking from people who have gone for interviews regarding photography they have said that they only ask for a small selection of photos. I think that I would choose the second to last photograph, the photograph of the seeds and the portrait photograph for a physical copy as they demonstrate three different areas of photograph that I can work in. As working in the studio, nature and the city all have different problems and require different settings that you have to consider before taking the photograph.

If I were to go down this route I do not think that I would get this job as I do not have several years of experience and I do not believe that I am lightroom trained. I also do not think that I will get this job if I were to apply as the highest education I have is currently a pass in UAL Level Three Extended Diploma In Photography and I think that will not cut it, even though it says that a ‘Certificate of Higher Education’ is preferred and I do not plan on carrying on to any other education. Overall, I think that I will not apply for this job.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Salary: £150.00 to £250.00 /day
Experience:
Food Photography:     2 years (Preferred)’
If I were to go with this job I do not think I would get it as I do not have the two years preferred and if I give myself those two years to practise the job would more than likely be gone by the time I finished. Another reason why I do not think I would get this job is because I do not have access to Photoshop, but it is something that I would perhaps look into getting if I get the job. With that, I do have a DSLR camera and a laptop that I believe would support all of the editing and shortlisting of photographs while on location.

Personal Statement
Why are you applying for your chosen course(s)?
I am applying for my chosen job because I feel like I would be a good asset to the team, as I like to complete all of my tasks to good standard and I try and leave no task unfinished.
Why does this subject interest you? Include evidence that you understand what’s required to study the course, e.g. if applying for psychology courses, show that you know how scientific the subject is.
This job interests me because it will allow me to work on the skills that I already have and that will be able to further me further in life as I will be able to put my new and improved skills to each and every task that I take on.
Why do you think you’re suitable for the course(s)? Do you have any particular skills and experience that will help you to succeed on the course(s)?
I feel like I am suitable for this job because I work hard and I have experience working with people of all ages, so I will be able to use that experience to the test every day and prove to myself and to other people that I have the confidence to talk to people that I both know and don't know.
Do your current or previous studies relate to the course(s) that you have chosen? If so, how?
I have studied photography at Nottingham College which was a UAL Level 3 Diploma Extended Diploma In Art And Design. I completed this course over a period of two years and over those two years I have been taught plenty of different techniques such as: dark room techniques and different camera techniques as well. I have also been taught how to use computer systems, such as: Photoshop, Illustrator and plenty of other pieces of software that I wouldn't have used if I had chosen to do a completely different course.
Have you taken part in any other activities that demonstrate your interest in the course(s)?
I have been to the format festival, the national history museum; to look round the museum itself and to look a the wildlife photography exhibition, I have also been to Rotterdam to look at the museums around there such as: the Vincent Van Gogh museum and plenty of other museums that have different types of photography, whether that be in England or in the Netherlands.
Universities like to know the skills you have that will help you on the course, or generally with life at university, such as any accredited or non-accredited achievements. Write these down here. Examples can be found at www.ucas.com/personalstatementskills.
One my achievements is getting to meet one of my favourite singers because you don't really get to do that on a regular basis.
Also think about any other achievements you’re proud of, positions of responsibility that you hold or have held both in and out of school, and attributes that make you interesting, special or unique.
Another one of achievements is the fact that I have been in my schools production of Oliver! and have also been in my villages pantomimes of Aladdin and Cinderella. All of these things have helped me build up my confidence and has helped speak to people of all ages.
Make a list of your hobbies, interests and social activities. Then think about how they demonstrate your personality, skills and abilities. Try to link them to the skills and experience required for your course(s).
I like reading; which helps me enhance my English skills as some of my English skills are not very good as I am dyslexic and reading helps me to understand how somethings are written, taking part the pantomimes; as this helps me build up my confidence as both a person and a performer, and I also like going for walks; which allows me to get out of the house and get some fresh air and take some photos. As I like doing these things I can use these skills to help me in my work as I can use these to my advantage as I would be able to use the skills that I have from all of these and put them into whatever I am doing.
Include details of jobs, placements, work experience or voluntary work, particularly if it’s relevant to your chosen course(s). Try to link any experience to skills or qualities related to the course.
I have done a weeks work experience at a tea room called Harpur And Finch; in which I cleared tables, folded napkins, washed and dried pots, served customers and priced items in the shop area of the place, I have also worked as an Elf in Santa's Grotto during the month of December 2018; where I handed out certificates and stickers to children and I also helped out when we were doing the Santa's breakfast, and currently I am work as a Customer Experience Coordinator at Nottingham Ice Arena; where I hand out skates and give people back their shoes, hand out the skate equipment, scan tickets, present a warm up session and also watch the ice for anything that isn't supposed to be there and to also make sure that everyone is safe whilst they are on the ice.
If you know what you’d like to achieve after completing the course, explain how you want to use the knowledge and experience that you gain. How does the course relate to what you want to do in the future?
I am not completely sure on what I want to do when after this job, so I hope to use whatever skills I have improved on or gained here with you I will be able to use that in the future.

UCAS Application
During this task we applied for UCAS and began to look at universities or colleges that we could apply for and hopefully go to once we have finished college to help us get further in life. For me personally I do not wish to go to university because I do not feel that it is right for me at this current moment in time. I may possibly consider the idea of university in a couple of year’s time in a different subject than photography but I still do not know on what I would like to do. Even though I do not wish to go to university now I still applied for UCAS just so I could have a see what I need to do just in case I change my mind in a couple of years time and this is what I did:
After registering my account I went straight to look at the universities/colleges that did subjects that I was interested in (which are photography, history, English; literature and language, psychology and sociology) as I thought that they might inspire me to go further in my search for an idea on what I would like to do when I leave college. I looked a few universities and they did have some of the courses that I was interested in; though others were did not have any course that I was looking for or only one or two missing as they did not do those courses that I have stated above. Here are the universities and the courses that I have looked at:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I scrolled through some more of the universities and colleges favouring the courses that I was interested in before deciding that I thought that I had enough for the time being and then went through and unlike any of the subjects that had what looked like terrible student satisfaction until I was happy with the amount that I had to read through to see if any of them seemed good enough. After, looking through the subject’s information I got rid of any subject that did not allow you in unless you did something in a relevant subject and I also got rid of all sociology and psychology because I couldn’t remember which one of the two I preferred, so I did not want to give myself the chance of me picking a subject that I did not like as much as the other.
Alongside that, I also got rid of all of the English options because after reading through a couple of university courses I decided that English was not for me because it wasn’t speaking out to me like some of the subjects that I read and liked. After, reading through all of the courses that I had selected I had managed to thin it down to select few that I really liked or I was still unsure on. These are the university courses that I have selected:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The subjects with the red hearts are the ones that I favour the most over the ones with just a white heart. Once, I had chance to look at everything I became uncertain on whether or not I did want to go to university as some of the courses that I read upon really persuaded me that I wanted to study that course at that university, whereas the other courses I looked at made me go back to where I was at the beginning of this process, which was not wanting to go. So, what I think I’ll have to do is to have a think on what I want to do in the future and go to the open days for the universities that I have left to see what my options are and to get the feel if university is for me or not.
When I had completed what universities I favoured the most I carried on with my UCAS application, which entailed me to fill in some information, such as my GCSE grades, where I am currently studying and what grades I have there, work experience and lots of other important stuff that universities may need to see if they want you to be in their universities. Overall, I found this experience quite boring because I still don’t really know what I want to do in the future. However, I did find some of this experience fun because it allowed me to read upon courses that I am quite interested in and that when I do decided on what I want to do in the future I know that I could go to university to help better my chances of getting a job in that subject.
