this is an amazing idea I will do a piece Sunday and send it over I hope loads get onto this he is worth all the stars in the cosmos
#StarsforTwelve
#StarsforTwelve is a social media movement that pays tribute to the actor Peter Capaldi, one of Doctor Who’s greatest ambassadors and biggest fans, as his time as the Twelfth Doctor ends soon.
In his final days of filming, let’s give the Doctor what he would have wanted on the cosmic battlefield - stars, and lots of them, as a way of:
remembering his on/off screen work
expressing thanks for making us feel special
showing support for wherever his career takes him
Regeneration and change can be very scary. It seems right now we’re left in the dark re who the next Doctor is going to be, and where his story is going under new management from Captain Chibbers. So in these dark times let’s all light the way…
This is also a chance to pay tribute to the geniuses behind the camera on the finales and upcoming Christmas special, including Rachel Talalay who deserves many stars and awards for her direction; Steven Moffat for his imagination and crafting such an incredible character journey, and Brian Minchin for the effort he puts in to make those stories fly. Send some love to the brand management and the Twelfth Doctor’s companions too.
By 11th July we’re getting the buzz going, culminating in a shrine or candlelight vigil outside Roath Lock Studios.
For anyone who can’t make it to the studio, use this blog to post:
pictures/videos of you holding up your sonic screwdrivers
candles
Christmas lights
fan art, gifs, star-shaped collages
favourite moments
fan stories
musical videos/performances are also welcome
On Twitter and Instagram post with the above hashtag. It’ll be shared around the Doctor Who fandom, wide enough for it to reach Peter.
Why do this? Because we’ve all been part of this man’s journey.
I’m sure there is some more Wonderfulness that I haven’t mention, So how about a re-blog with your something wonderful and make this post even more wonderful
You can’t have Christmas without saying hey to Balthazar, the sarkiest Magi in all of Scotland Babylonia with his nice hat and big beard and awesome capes and poor toasted nose.
Not to mention his not-at-all-trepidatious and (unlike certain “horse riding” in Doctor Who) definitely for-real camel riding which becomes even funnier thanks to Peter’s frank and honest discussion of how much he totally totally loves them:
They never stop spitting, farting, shitting, vomiting – and those big teeth. At least a horse you can come to some terms with the relationship, but a camel’s like get the fuck *off* me. This is not going to end happily.
26 Years of Make-Out Technique: A Comparative Analysis in Pictures
It was a tough job, but someone had to do it.
After all, comparative analysis is the basis of intellectual discourse and I am nothing if not intellectual.
What I’ve discovered is one of these is not like the others, but I’m not going to leave Danny out just because he doesn’t know one end of a woman from another.
(I’m totally kidding, I bet with Danny still waters run very deep.)
I’m trying not to use the word suction, but for some reason, it does spring immediately to mind…
Karl Jones on Twitter: #dwsr And some more from Newport.
Poor Doctor, he really doesn’t want anyone to leave his TARDIS, or that’s what I’m getting from his expressions and gestures. We’ll find out the full situation when the episode airs. :)
More video footage of Peter meeting fans on set (Aug. 1, 2016). The girl with the beaming smile (his immediate right) is too cute. ♥ GIFs made by me from Jess Martin’s video on Twitter.
A visual chronology of Dillon’s journey – figurative and literal – as a work of art, from Bernadette’s first touch the night before to him finally waking up on the Tube in the real world the morning after.
(I think as far as Dillon is concerned, BECOMING a work of art, that’s amazing. No regrets there! But BEING a work of art, going to work…as an accounts clerk; yeah, that’s the part Dillon is pretty sure isn’t going to, er, work.)
