origin of the blog title: I’m gonna go with my main blog Paranaturally Flappy, as that was my original Tumblr and what I post on most often, because my highly specific art fixation is somehow still not dead 😅. The title speaks for itself. If I was a bat, I would probably flap around in an altered state.

weirdest habit / trait: my other half would say making a meal out of only cheese. But I don’t think that’s weird. It’s proteinaceous, filling, and available.

hobbies: Drawing. Sometimes I dabble in learning how to write or audio stuff.

my job: professional vampire, kind of—I’m a lab tech.

dream job: pathologist. But I don’t mind my current position.

something I'm good at: organizing stuff. I’m kind of funny about spacial orientations.

something I hate: Traffic, and parking. Especially parallel parking.

something you collect: I don’t really collect tangible stuff regularly anymore. I do have a habit of saving reference photos when I come across them. For future drawings. For poses and inspiration.

change one thing about my life: I would have tried for a biology degree right after high school. Took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do career wise.

if i could travel in time, who would i meet? I would prefer not to meddle with the possibility of upsetting the natural timeline. With my luck I’d sneeze and my great great-great-great grandma would never be born or I’d wipe out an entire continent. 😶

as of march 12th clip studio is on sale celebrating their version 4 release. it's an incredibly powerful drawing program you will NOT regret getting, especially if you want to ditch adobe. the sale ends in 5 days so if you were looking into getting it, now's the time

and since i see this brought up often when i make these posts:

for pc and mac users, there's a perpetual license option; you do NOT have to get a subscription to use clip studio unless you're on an ipad

you can forever own the version of the program you buy; if a future version has things you want, you will be able to upgrade for a discount

future update releases won't make your current version unusable. you simply won't have the features any new release will include. for example, i will not be upgrading from ver 3 to ver 4 because i'm not interested in the new features

pro is for illustrations, character art, concept work; ex has handy tools for comics, webtoons and animation. both can make use of their 3d assets

everyone is fucking but no one is horny

one of my twitter friends recently said that if she could order up a fic it would be a story written by someone who has only ever read the classics, 1.5 star trek novelizations, and their mother's romance novels from 1970, written about two people are so out of their minds horny for each other it causes them to make the absolute worst choices anyone's ever made.

and i almost lost my mind laughing because i do know exactly what she means. there is a weird vibe i can sometimes sense within the first few paragraphs a fic that really bums me out. it's almost like i can tell the author is thinking way too much about what i'm thinking about their id and it's suddenly like we're all suddenly wondering how riding a bicycle works when we're mid-ride. when you start worrying too much audience interpretation or how a fic is going to do or play or ugh marketability, it genuinely adds some weird self-conscious distance to whatever you're doing. and it's the pits from the reader side because it removes so much horniness from your story even if the idea you have is genuinely good! i know this is not a niche complaint--you find it literally everywhere as every sector of the creative internet gets #content-ed and people can't escape the stats of how any given creative outlet does.

but god there's literally nothing better than sitting down and reading some freaknasty person's art where they do not give a single shit if you like it. they had something to say and my god they were gonna say it. i've accidentally acquired so many kinks by clicking on a story where someone took me on the most insane ride of my life and i thrilled about it. i don't wanna read about polite normal regular love. i don't wanna read about people using therapy-speak on each other. i wanna read about two people feeling the biggest craziest feelings of their entire life and they cannot do anything about it except bang it out. what else are we doing here? if they're not fucking down an entire house, well jed i don't even wanna read it.
