Chapter 1 Chapter 2
Chapter 3
“Viktor!” (Y/N)’s soft voice echoed in the lunchroom. Once she saw the tall man start to rise from his seat she rushed over to him. “You don’t need to get up,” her hand gently pushed him back down into the uncomfortable seat of the cafeteria. She quickly sat next to him and faced Jayce who started talking.
“(Y/N), we have something to talk to you about.”
“Did I do something wrong? I’m sorry if I did,” the panic in (Y/N)’s voice was evident to the two men.
“No that isn’t it,” Viktor didn’t want her to start panicking when he knew Jayce was just messing with her. “We were wondering if you could move your equipment into our workroom so we can get work done a bit faster,” Viktor explained.
“That’s it? Jayce you scared me!” (Y/N) sent a glare at the man who let out a chuckle.
“It’s just so easy to make you scared, it’s funny!” He tried to defend himself but the continued laugh made (Y/N) give him a light slap on the arm from over the table.
“Vik! Are you going to let him bully me like this?” She had a small pout on her face as she looked into Viktor’s amber eyes.
Viktor’s cheeks started to burn at the sight of her puppy dog eyes and her adorable pout. He then turned to Jayce and placed an arm in front of her protectively.
“You shouldn’t mess with her like that,” his voice was stern but the look on his face showed he was just messing around.
“Vik my savior!” (Y/N) let out a giggle at the sight of him being playful. He returned it with a small smile, his eyes meeting hers for a moment.
“Wow, Viktor, are you really joking around? This is a new discovery! I never knew you could do that,” Jayce sent a knowing look at Viktor who just ignored it.
“Maybe I won’t move my stuff if you’re so rude,” (Y/N) continued to joke.
“Don’t make Viktor sad, he was excited to have you in the same room,” Jayce snickered. (Y/N) turned to the man next to her who just looked away shyly.
“Well, I guess I should start getting my stuff moved,” (Y/N) got up from her seat and gave a small wave to Viktor as she walked to her workroom to start getting her needed equipment together.
She found it interesting that she felt so close to the two so quickly but they did have a similar feeling to home. If she wasn’t going to return there she might as well find a new one, but it did hurt that no one had come for her in the three weeks she was in Piltover. She thought at least Vi would come for her but apparently not. She might as well get comfortable at the academy and stop thinking about her family.
She walked to her personal desk and opened the bottom right drawer. She pulled out the small backpack she wore when they first arrived in Piltover. She reached into it and pulled out the picture of her with Vi and Powder that she always carried. Her hand traced over their faces and a few tears fell from her eyes and landed on the worn photo.
“Why haven't you come for me?” She let out a quiet sob.
(Y/N) had always been the one to be positive and playful and she tried to keep that mentality but she couldn’t help the pain. She missed her sisters and Vander. She missed going on adventures and taking care of her little sister. She hoped Powder was doing alright and that Vi was taking care of her.
A knock sounded at the door, she jumped and quickly wiped her tears from her eyes so no one would know she was crying.
“Come in.”
“Sorry for interrupting but I was-” Viktor noticed her slightly red eyes and the forced smile she wore. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, I’m fine,” (Y/N) tried to get her bouncy personality to come back for a moment but she knew it wasn’t going to fool Viktor.
“(Y/N), I can tell something is wrong.”
Viktor moved closer to (Y/N), she didn’t want to burden the genius with her problems so she just walked back to sit on her desk.
“Look I’m fine Viktor. I’ll see you later when I move my stuff,” (Y/N) just wanted him to leave at that moment.
Viktor continued to move forward until his crutch hit a bag, he looked down and saw the picture that was still resting on it. He slowly moved to pick it up, he immediately recognized (Y/N) even though it was taken when she was much younger.
“You miss them?” He looked up at (Y/N) whose eyes were starting to water.
“Look, can you just leave, please?”
“(Y/N), I know it must be hard not having them around. You can talk to me or Jayce about this, you don’t have to hide your feelings around us.”
“Viktor, I don’t want them to forget me.”
She broke. Tears started running down her face which she quickly covered with her shaking hands. Viktor quickly moved to her and wrapped his long arms around her in a tight hug. She grasped onto his jacket like she would never let go. Her head was pushed into his chest and the front of his shirt was getting slightly damp from the tears.
“They will never forget you, why would you think that?” His voice was full of worry. “They never came back for me,” (Y/N)’s muffled voice said.
“Look, (Y/N),” Viktor brought his fingers to her chin and gently brought her head up to face him. “They love you, how could they not? There must be a reason that you just don’t know about.”
He tried to reassure (Y/N) but that just made her worry. Scenarios of Powder and Vi being hurt ran through her head and the tears just came faster. Viktor realized he said something wrong but he didn’t know how to make her feel better because they didn’t come back for her and he knew how that hurt.
“I’m sorry (Y/N), I’m not sure how to comfort you, I’ve never done this before,” Viktor admitted but that just made (Y/N) let out a small laugh which confused him. “Did I say something?”
“It’s just endearing.”
For some reason, Viktor just being himself gave her the comfort she craved. She gave him a tight squeeze and released her hands from his jacket. She pulled back and looked at him with her teary eyes.
“Thank you for just being you Vik,” (Y/N) moved her hand to wipe some of her tears away but stopped when she felt another hand on her skin. She looked at Viktor who was gently wiping her tears while cupping her face with his other hand.
“I have an idea,” Viktor said quietly with a reassuring smile on his face. “I can go to the undercity and make sure your family is ok, maybe also see why they never came for you.”
“You would get in so much trouble, I don’t want you to do that.”
“But I want to do it,” his eyes were certain in his decision.
“I want to go with you. I don’t want you to be down there by yourself. I don’t want you to get hurt because of me.”
Viktor dropped his hands from (Y/N)’s now dry face. He looked down at his leg with the most hateful eyes she’s ever seen. She knew that he thought the reason she thought he would get hurt was because of his leg.
“Viktor, no, it isn’t because of your leg. I care about you and I don’t want to see you hurt, it’s not that I don’t think you can do it,” (Y/N) tried to reassure him but he couldn’t help the bad thoughts.
“We can leave tomorrow and just tell Jayce that we are getting tools you are missing,” he let out a pained sigh.
“Okay,” (Y/N) didn’t know what to do now that he was upset. She knew how to deal with Powder and Vi but they didn’t have a problem like Viktor’s.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel worse.”
“Don’t say that, you made me feel so much better,” (Y/N) moved her hand to his sleeve and just held it trying to show she appreciated him. Growing up without knowing a lot of affection was not helping her at the moment.
“Hey, Viktor?” They heard a shout from outside in the hallway.
“I should probably go,” he pointed to the door with his free hand. “I’ll meet you after breakfast, okay?”
“Got it,” (Y/N) gave a small smile but she still felt bad for making him uncomfortable.
“I know you just wanted to make sure I stay safe, I know it wasn’t about my leg. I just worry that you think I am incapable of taking care of things on my own.”
“Viktor, you are the most amazing person I have ever met, I know you can do anything you set your mind to,” (Y/N) let a genuine smile grow on her face and gave Viktor a quick hug before they heard another call for him. ________________________________________________________________
Viktor knew it would be a risk going to the undercity but he knew he needed to help (Y/N), he saw the pain she was in and he needed that gone. He didn’t know why he felt so protective over her but that would be for later research.
“Viktor, are you alright?” Jayce noticed the unfocused look on Viktor’s face that has been happening a lot recently.
“Yes, sorry, I was just thinking,” Viktor sighed and sat back in his chair. “That reminds me, (Y/N) and I are going to the undercity tomorrow for some tools that she needs.”
“Can’t we just find some here?” Jayce didn’t seem to like the idea of the two going down there.
“It’s only made down there,” Viktor tried to explain.
“I thought the council specifically said she wasn't allowed to have any contact down there? Can’t one of us just go down?”
Jayce wasn’t a rule breaker like Viktor but he knew he needed to have someone to cover for them. He went back and forth in his head on what to do and finally landed on his decision.
“Look Jayce, (Y/N) needs to see her family and make sure they are okay. I’m going with her so she will be safe. I need you to cover for us, please.”
Jayce saw the determination in his partner’s eyes and knew he couldn’t stop them even if he tried. If the council found out they would be in a lot of trouble and could be arrested. He knew it was just because of Viktor’s crush on (Y/N) that he was doing it but he could tell that he wouldn’t listen to reason.
“You owe me for this,” Jayce let out an exasperated sigh and turned back to his work. “But make sure you keep her safe down there.”
“Don’t worry I will.”

Chapter 1 Chapter 3
Chapter 2
The thought of home made (Y/N)’s heart twist in pain but she knew she couldn’t go back, at least for the time being. Jayce and Viktor made a deal with the council that if she used her expertise to help build and design for Hex Tech then she wouldn’t be sent to prison.
Her years of building equipment for Vander paid off, even Jayce was impressed with the quality of her work. She spent most days creating new designs from what the boys were coming up with and then building prototypes in her own workshop.
She was thankful that professor Heimerdinger had an empty workspace right next to Viktor’s but that also meant that her thought process kept getting interrupted. It was either some loud explosion or voices getting excited over new revelations. (Y/N) couldn’t help the smile that grew on her face when she heard Viktor’s voice excited and started talking faster, intelligent words flowing out. She never knew how much one person could make her so happy.
She was working on a large frame for a portal to help transport supplies quicker than any boat could. While she had no idea how they could make it work she just listened to what Jayce had told her he needed.
“(Y/N), are you busy?” That wonderful accent rang through the silent space. She turned abruptly to see Viktor’s head poking through the doorway.
“Of course! Come in,” she moved her tools to the side and lifted her working goggles so she could get a better look at his face. His eyes had large bags under them so she knew he hadn’t been getting much, or even any sleep the past week.
“How is the arch coming along?” He walked up to the half-finished metal archway she had just been working on. He reached out to feel over it with his left hand but (Y/N) grabbed it before his fingers landed on the newly added portion.
“I’m sorry!” She jumped back and dropped his hand immediately. “That portion is still hot, I didn’t want you to burn yourself,” (Y/N) tried to explain without stuttering but she was failing. She could feel her cheeks heat up so she turned away to her notes so Viktor wouldn’t notice, hopefully.
“I appreciate the warning,” Viktor’s voice sounded thankful but at the same time, there was a hint of intrigue in it.
“Anyway,” (Y/N) brought her notes and papers onto a clean table to show Viktor in a less cramped space. “With the few bits I changed from Jayce’s calculations of the metal pressures, the frame will be able to work to hold the Hex Tech stuff in place.”
“Hex Tech stuff?” He questioned with a small frown on his face.
“I don’t know all your technical terms for it. All I need to know is how you need the metalwork to be done,” she pointed out.
“But wouldn’t you like to know how it worked?” There was a glint of excitement in his eyes just from talking about Hex Tech.
“I’ll leave the science stuff to you. It has never really been my thing,” (Y/N) gave a small shrug and moved back to her work, tools already in hand.
“Are you really not curious about how it works?” Viktor’s voice expressed his confusion.
“I mean it sounds interesting,” (Y/N) admitted. “But I was never taught anything like that. The only reason I have any knowledge of math is because of the work I used to do and books I would steal.”
“I could explain it to you,” Viktor’s soft voice sent a shiver down (Y/N)’s spine. She would love to spend more time with him but she knew she would have to go back to Zaun at some point, never to see the man again.
“You are so busy with your own work Vik! You don’t even go home to sleep,” (Y/N) had a good point but he was a bit distracted by the nickname.
“Vik?” His nervous voice asked.
“Oh sorry, I’m used to using nicknames,” (Y/N) explained as she nervously rubbed the back of her neck.
“No, it's fine. It’s just that no one has ever used a nickname for me.”
“Really? Then do you mind if I use one for you?” She didn’t want to do anything that made him uncomfortable but she already called him Vik in her head anyway.
“I don’t see a reason not to,” (Y/N) noticed a small smile growing on his face making her cheeks turn a bit redder.
“Well then, Vik, I should get back to work,” (Y/N) pointed at the archway. “But I’ll meet you two for lunch.”
“Alright, I’ll see you then.”
Viktor made his way out of her workshop but (Y/N)’s eyes were on him until the last inch of him disappeared. Once she heard his footsteps fade she let out a little squeal. She may have been raised to fight people and be a badass but she couldn’t help herself when it came to Viktor. She had never felt this way with anyone and she didn’t quite understand it but she knew she wanted to be around him and take care of him.
As Viktor entered back into his workroom he realized that he had forgotten to ask (Y/N) something, the reason he went to her workspace. He slapped his hand gently on his forehead which caught Jayce’s attention.
“What did she say?” Jayce asked, coming up to his partner.
“I may have forgotten to ask her,” Viktor said with a shy tone.
Jayce looked over his partner and noticed the small blush on his face. Jayce may not be the smartest person but it was easy to tell that something happened when he was with (Y/N). He had already noticed that Viktor had a particular interest in the girl but he thought it was just because they needed to watch over her. Apparently, that was not the reason.
“Well, what did you two talk about then?” Jayce raised his eyebrow.
“We didn’t talk about much, just what she was working on,” Viktor’s eyes moved over Jayce’s face but never met eyes which told Jayce something was up.
“You know I think we should have her do some work here, I think it might help us create our prototypes quicker.”
“I think she likes her own space to work. I don’t think we should move her equipment,” Viktor tried not to sound nervous at the thought of (Y/N) working with them in the same room.
“Do you not want her to work with us? I think she has the ability to do it,” Jayce was trying to get his partner to admit that there was something going on between them.
“That’s not it!” Viktor tried to defend himself but knew he couldn’t stop what Jayce wanted. “I guess it could be a good idea and you have a point about making everything work quicker,” Viktor let out a defeated sigh.
“Perfect! At lunch, I’ll see if she can start moving her stuff in later today.”
“Well, I should get back to work,” he walked over to his desk and slowly sat down. He knew the rest of the day would be a struggle so getting some work done now
wouldn’t be a bad idea. But for some reason, all he could focus on was the girl in the next room. He didn’t know why he couldn’t get her out of his mind, but he did enjoy hearing her voice saying his name in his head again and again. _______________________________________________

Lost and Found (1)
Summary: During the job in Piltover, (Y/N) was left injured and in the hands of the council and the academy. She wants to get back home until she meets a certain person.

Chapter 2 Chapter 3
Chapter 1
(Y/N) followed Vi over the roof followed by Millo, Clogger, and Powder. This was Powder’s first time to Piltover and she had been falling behind since they left.
“Powder! Hurry up,” (Y/N) fell back behind the boys to help her little sister find her way on the roof.
“I’m fine,” her voice was convincing but her feet betrayed her. As her foot landed on the next shingle her foot slipped but (Y/N)’s quick reflexes saved the clumsy girl many times like this.
“It’s okay. Let's just hurry up,” Powder’s nerves were obvious in (Y/N)’s eyes. She knew that the boys didn’t want Powder to come but Vi made sure they kept quiet about it.
The five continued their way to the building Little Man told them about. It was large and fancy looking, not something they would see back home. It looked like the perfect place to find expensive items to sell.
“This is it,” Vi made sure the group was there, then she jumped across the deck of the apartment. Millo went after, making sure to try and show off, Clogger followed after. (Y/N) gracefully made her way over to join the group.
“Come on Powder! You can do it!” Vi and (Y/N) shouted to encourage the panicked girl. “I’m not going to make it,” she mumbled but it was loud enough for (Y/N) to hear.
“You can make it Powder. I’ll catch you okay?” (Y/N) looked into the bright blue eyes of her sister.
Powder jumped, landing on the deck across from them and jumping across to her family.
Her hand was outstretched as (Y/N) watched, almost in slow motion. She knew Powder wasn’t going to make it so she quickly moved over the railing to grab the small arm. Powder let out a sob as she dangled from the railing.
“It’s okay, I’ll get you up,” (Y/N)’s voice was soft, trying not to sound panicky for Powder’s sake.
Using all her strength, she lifted Powder over the railing and safely onto the ground. She was breathing heavily and her eyes were all teary.
“You did great, Powder,” Vi moved to give a small hug and then continued to the window to get in.
(Y/N) watched her older sister pick the window lock and smiled at the small smile that grew on Vi’s face. (Y/N) quickly made her way inside and made room for everyone to follow. She looked at the room in awe, the ceiling was beautiful and it looked as if not a speck of dirt had ever entered the building.
(Y/N) parted from her siblings to search a different room off to the side. It was filled with calculations and drawings. Her experience with building machinery helped her understand a little of what was written but the math didn’t make sense to her.
“What is this even for?” She whispered to herself as she continued to study the board.
“(Y/N), have you found anything?” Millo’s voice rang out. She quickly moved to the desk to find anything that looked expensive.
“Not yet!” She shouted back.
She rummaged through the desk drawers but only found notebooks and scratch paper. She couldn’t get over the amount of effort that was being put into this experiment. She always wished she could make new inventions but she was only allowed to remake items for Vander.
“(Y/N)! We’ve got to go!” She jumped at Vi’s sudden voice.
Vi’s worried face appeared at the door making sure that she was coming. Her leg was bouncing and (Y/N) could tell it was bad.
“What is it?” (Y/N) asked as she stuffed papers and tools into her bag.
“Someone’s trying to get in,” she said and then rushed to find Powder who hadn’t appeared yet.
(Y/N) gave one extra look to see if anything else looked important then ran to the window. Millo and Clogger were already there and Vi was coming, dragging Powder by her arm.
“Okay everyone out,” (Y/N) held the window open for the boys then let Vi go through.
“Oh no!” Powder gasped as she dropped a glowing orb that she must have found.
“Leave it Powder, we need to go,” (Y/N) grabbed the girl and threw her through the window and into Vi’s arms.
Just as (Y/N) was about to go through the window there was a large explosion. She flew across the room and slammed her head into the corner of one of the fancy walls. She could feel blood trickle down her face and she knew she wouldn’t be able to follow.
“(Y/N)!” She could hear the echoed voice of Vi yelling. She opened her weakening eyes to see that everyone made it safely to the roof of the house next door.
Vi was about to go back to get (Y/N) when the door was thrown open and guards came running in. She looked at her injured sister and a tear rolled down as she saw (Y/N) give a little salute before she closed her eyes.
(Y/N) could hear the yelling from the officers and the owner but they soon were drowned out as she fell asleep.
____________________________________________________________________________
(Y/N) could feel a soft material over her body as she started to wake. With her eyes still closed she felt around to figure out where she was but nothing felt familiar. She quickly opened her eyes and looked around for Vi or Powder but all she found was a white room. It was too clean.
She jumped out of the bed and she found that her clothes were now a plain white shirt and a pair of black pants that were oversized. She looked around and saw the large door just waiting for her to push it open. She silently made her way to the exit hoping no one could hear her but she was quickly disappointed.
“Ah, you’re finally awake,” a yordle said as it walked in. (Y/N)’s hands flew up into a fighting stance, prepared for any sort of attack, not knowing where she was.
“Who are you and what is this place?” Her voice deepened to try and sound fierce.
“I am Professor Heimerdinger and this is Piltover Academy,” he said matter of factly. “You were found unconscious in the home of one of my students,” he explained. “As you were illegally entering, the officers who arrived at the scene were going to arrest you but my student made sure that didn’t happen.”
“Why would he do that?” The suspicion in her voice was obvious to anyone.
“He wanted to talk to you. He said you were taking pieces of his work and I believe he wants to know why.”
“Let me speak to him and then I will go,” (Y/N)’s face was stern but the professor just gave a little laugh.
“We’ll see what happens.”
He directed (Y/N) to follow him which she reluctantly agreed to. They made their way past classrooms and different working rooms. She had never seen a place so magnificent. They finally made it to a room with its door partially opened. The professor motioned for (Y/N) to go in and once again she obliged.
“Hello?” As much as she wanted to sound confident, she didn’t know what to expect.
She looked around and saw another board filled with writing in the same handwriting but a few other bits that were in a different style. The room was filled with machines and technology she couldn’t even imagine.
“You’re awake!” A loud and energetic voice called out.
A man came into view, he was tall and looked to be fairly wealthy. He had a smile on his face but for (Y/N), it was a bit off-putting.
“I am,” she stayed still as the man came over to her. “The professor said you wanted to talk to me.”
“Yes, yes. Let me start with this,” he moved a chair for each of them and he sat with crossed legs. “Why were you taking my work?”
“It looked interesting,” she responded with her eyes looking at her hands which rested in her lap.
“That’s it? Do you understand it?” He seemed too curious.
“Why should I tell you? I don’t even know your name.”
“I’m Jayce. And you should tell me because I am the only thing keeping you from going to jail.”
“But why?”
At this Jayce turned away and let out a sigh. (Y/N) couldn’t tell if this was him trying to be dramatic or if he truly was stressed out about something.
“My work is very complicated. I wasn’t supposed to be working on it so I managed to get into a lot of trouble. I was lucky that when I made my case to the council that someone was interested in my work and he helped to make it successful.”
“So I helped you, is what you’re saying?” (Y/N) gave a small smirk at that.
“I guess you could say that. But the people you came here with stole some of the technology we need. It can be extremely dangerous. Can you tell us where it is?” Jayce seemed sure that she would tell him but she just responded with a scoff.
“So you can imprison them? No way,” she rolled her eyes and looked away from the man.
“No, so we can make sure no one gets hurt. They left you here anyway so why would you care?”
“They didn’t leave me.”
“Maybe they didn’t, but it is the only way you can keep yourself out of prison,” he gave her a knowing look.
(Y/N) knew she wouldn’t be able to get back home by herself while still being injured. She had to find a way to stay out of prison without selling out her family.
“Can’t do that, sorry.”
“Look, I don’t want to send you to prison. We’re trying to create good with Hex Tech, to help others. People like you and your friends. I don’t want to start this by ruining some kid’s life.”
“People like you always say you’re going to help others and make a difference but it never happens. Nobody cares about us and they never will,” (Y/N) started to stand from her chair when an accented voice spoke.
“I thought that way too, but Jayce has a way to truly help humanity.”
(Y/N) turned to see a tall brunette leaning on a crutch, his eyes the most beautiful gold. He slowly moved closer, seeming to struggle a bit as he did.
“This is Viktor, my partner. He used to live in Zaun,” Jayce introduced.
“There is no way he lived down there. He wouldn’t be here if he did,” (Y/N)’s eyes narrowed at Viktor but he just looked her over in curiosity.
“I may not look like I did but believe me, I did,” Viktor’s eyes seemed to be honest but (Y/N) still couldn’t believe it.
“How? How did you leave that place?” (Y/N)’s shock was evident to Viktor. He noticed a shine in the girl’s watery eyes as if begging for the answer.
“I came to study here and I became the assistant for Professor Heimerdinger.”
He looked over (Y/N)’s bruised body, noticing the old scars from life in Zaun. He remembered the pain of living in that toxic air and not being able to learn all he wanted to.
“Would you like to leave that world?” Jayce asked suddenly.
“Any person would, but I can’t leave my family,” she looked away from the boys and let out a small sigh.
She knew that if she could leave Zaun she would be able to live a healthy life and wouldn’t have to fight every day. Then Powder and Vi’s faces flashed in her head and she knew she couldn’t leave.
“If they are your family then they would want you to leave that place,” Jayce pointed out.
“Why are you even trying to help me? I am a stranger who broke into your home! And if you expect to get the names of who else was with me then you are an idiot,” (Y/N) was starting to get frustrated with this guy. He seemed like he wanted to help but no one ever does.
“As Viktor said, we are trying to help people which includes you. I may want to know where the technology is but if you don’t want to say then I can respect your loyalty.”
(Y/N) looked between the two in front of her, they seemed like good people and for some reason she immediately trusted Viktor.
“What would I even do here?” She asked in a low voice.
“Whatever you want,” (Y/N) looked up at the voice to see Viktor’s soft smile and she knew she wanted to stay around him. His presence was a comforting feeling that she hadn’t had in years and she wanted it to continue.
Viktor could see the gears going a hundred miles per hour in her head, he understood the difficult decision but he did hope she would stay in Piltover for some reason.
