Getting Started on an Ironman Account
Hey all,
One of the most common questions asked to me is how to get started with an ironman account, what are the differences, and so on. Well, this post will help you get started on the ways of being on your own in the crazy world of Gielinor.
Hope these help you out!
First Steps
If you are a Hardcore Ironman, your first short-term goal is to get 100,000 coins to buy the Jar of Divine Light, which saves your account from being permanently locked (you can only visit the lobby) if you die, rather it will downgrade you to a standard ironman upon death.
You can get a huge amount of free Pure Essence by completing the Rune Memories quest.
Get your free Wicked Hood from Tam McGrubor in Burthorpe, it is a great source of free runes and essence daily!
You can train almost all of your skills up to a decent starter level in Burthorpe.
Completing The Blood Pact quest in Lumbridge grants you access to the Lumbridge Catacombs, a great way to start off your combat training.
You can level prayer from 1 to 43 for free at The Nexus, south of Lumbridge. It is slow but it is free and gives you access to all the Protection Prayers (very useful for hardcore ironman).
You can get a very easy amount of starter cash doing the Stronghold of Security and the Stronghold of Player Safety granting you 20,000 coins with little to no effort.
The Knight’s Sword quest is great for some easy Smithing Levels, as well as access to Doric and Boric’s Tasks
The Waterfall Quest is great for some early melee combat levels, just be careful since the Moss Giants are aggressive
Your First Goals
Start doing Slayer as much as possible if you want to train combat, I cannot stress how important it is, it gives you reliable charms for Summoning, as well as access to better monsters at higher levels (such as Abyssal Demons and Spiritual Mages).
Aim for getting 55 Magic as early as possible, you need to get access to High Alchemy so you aren’t throwing money away doing General Store vendoring
Level your Runecrafting to 44 so you can create Nature Runes with Pure Essence. You will need these when you get 55 Magic for High Alchemy
