Almost 170 pages in, decided to check out the Netflix adaptation and ooh, I'm tempted to think it's not good... at least the initial tone it sets up is so generic Hollywood blockbuster. I don't even think the book is that especially good but still.
I'm doing it, I'm finally reading The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu. I've been putting it off for so long lol. About 60 pages in, and I'm being reminded of men writing women syndrome 🙃

I finally did it, I found a het romance novel that I like and the writing isn't complete ass. It's The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. I'm only 57 pages in but things are looking good. I'm so happy I picked it up at the book exchange.

I'm reading Little Mushroom, which is a sci-fi danmei novel by Shisi and it didn't really register to me that this is the first book in this specific genre I'm reading. Now I'm spiralling down an intellectualising rabbit hole where I have to read up more on speculative fiction, dystopian fiction, Chinese sci-fi, worldbuilding etc. Right now I do have thoughts, but they're just raw Thoughts without any context or intellectual analysis. Some might argue you don't need those to have opinions on a book but that's just how I am.

Continuing jane eyre, my progress has been slowwww, man what is wrong with my attention span these days. But I had a burst of motivation and got to pg 200. And damn, is this where all those novels that suddenly introduce a WOC character to divine the female lead's fortune comes from?

Oh god I did not expect that twist. Mr Rochester is a bit quirky isn't he (yes I know about the attic wife).

I feel like poppy war fans make Riga too tame sometimes. Like within an hour of waking up bro managed to offend every minority in existence, choke a kid half his size and a third his age, beat two women, stab his "best friend", and say racist things beyond human imagination. He also found the Speerly genocide erotic. Dude was a terrible person

I have recently read the poppy war series and I only have one thing to say:
Yin Riga needs more popularity in the fandom. He’s my favourite, I was so excited when they woke him up only for him to die a few pages later??
Then I went to social media expecting to see more of him and there’s only like 20 posts ON THE ENTIRE INTERNET. He needs more appreciation.
Edit: not that I like him he’s a pos and he deserved to die but still…. :(
