I had merely postponed it.

Spent two hours in the character editor trying to make Rook look at least a little bit pretty, only to fucking delete the game after three hours of play.
This is not Dragon Age. This is not dark fantasy. This is a Netflix-inspired circus show.
#Even Inquisition looks pretty good amidst this rubbish#But no Inquisition was also a failure#No Alistair and no Hero of Ferelden#Oh and also no Zevran#dragon age#dragon age failguard

Silent Hill 2 Remake - short summary of the feeling after beating remake
I played SH2 for the first time around 2003, and due to my adolescent age I did not fully appreciate the depth of the game at that time, the realisation of the tragedy, vitality, psychology came later with age.
How the player is horrified not by survival and eternal battle with monsters, but by music, strange sounds, locations, general atmosphere. How the music alone makes your heart beat faster.
And how all this has been lost in the SH2 remake.
The music didn't have to be redone (Yamaoka, why did you make such a mockery of the best tracks of your career? :/)
The reimagined James lacks the cringiness, goofiness, he doesn't even look like a slightly overweight man. Maria lacks the languor, sexiness, manipulativeness. Angela lacks haggardness and torturedness. Eddie looks too repulsive to be pitied. And most importantly, the dynamics of the relationship between James and Maria were distorted.
This remake in no way needed a character re-voiceover. The re-voicing in the HD Collection was disastrous (Troy Baker was terrible as James), and that alone should have stopped Bloober Team from bringing in other actors. The performance of the current cast is not up to scratch. James walks around with his mouth open almost all the time. All of Maria's lines are delivered in the same monotone voice. Mary's letter at the end of the original still brings tears to many eyes, and the modern voiceover is reminiscent of Stanislavsky's crowning line ''I don't believe it"!
I got tired of playing and solving puzzles at the beginning of Lakeview Hotel. Too boring, too long, too much unnecessary. Too much of the prison and the maze. I wanted to finish it quickly and never come back. This game only lives on the legacy of the original.
But what surprised me the most was the lack of any commentary from James, he just mooed like a complete idiot, whereas in the original there was a lot of commentary. Through such comments, his reactions, his personal attitude to something, the character is better revealed. Here is an example of James' reaction to alcohol in Heaven's Night from original SH2:
And how did James reveal himself in the remake? He just opened his mouth wordlessly like a fish and stared with empty eyes.
This game has one undeniable positive thing - it makes you appreciate and love the original even more, whereas the remake is just a superficial imitation.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Reckoning of New York
Unfortunately, the third and final part of the visual novels about the events in New York turned out to be the weakest of all, both in terms of plot and product quality. The art has become more realistic, with very nicely drawn faces, but it has lost its magic and authenticity. Buggy controls (and this is a visual novel, for a minute), unmemorable music (a few tracks for the whole game), eternally updated journal… it's really frustrating. For some reason, the dialogue window has been moved to the right-hand side of the screen instead of the usual position at the bottom. Your choices at the end of Shadows of New York have no effect whatsoever. And your choices in Reckoning of New York are straight as rails! The only choice in the game is at the very end of the second character walkthrough. And that's it!
Playing Kali was a real misery. Uninteresting, unpleasant girl with a lot of idiotic jokes.
But playing Pádraic Conroy was much more interesting, and even made me want to buy a similar D20 spinner dice ring. I won't spoil any more. But fans of the Malkavian clan will be in for a treat. And the lack of Pádraic artwork is the game's biggest drawback. The mad Kindred, in all his rottenness, but still retaining his humanity and even small piece of gratitude. What a cinnamon bun.
Anyway, dear Kindred, we fall further into torpor and wait for Bloodlines 2. Maybe we'll see it released. Hoping so, but not sure.
