Update: it took nearly a month, but Past Lives came to a theater in my city (it was an hour bus ride away, but I had to see it).
It was the sweetest film I've seen in a long time. The characters were achingly real, and I saw a piece of myself in every character.
As far as movies go where people stand next to each other in silence for far longer than feels natural, it's great. Go see it if your theater is showing it. It's so comfy.

caleb's performance was fucking amazing. I did cry to eddie but i broke down even HARDER hearing him call for help and trying to comfort max while he holds her in his arms :( it just made me feel so sad, the movie on friday :( then he was reading a stephen king book to her? lucas is just such a great character
