Kurobuta pork (aka black pig) (aka the wagyu of pork) (aka I’ll probably won’t be able to eat donkatsu back home again) Derrick found this place randomly on yelp cuz we were already inside this department store where Chosen bought his fancy $27 Pilot Jetstream pen and I bought my normal Jetstream pens inside Ito-ya. Was very good. Probably cuz it was the first real meal I had since breakfast at Shirokuma Cafe. I had tiny samples here and there but no real food till this pork cutlet!

Meiji Shrine We made it in at 5:10 or so, riiiiiight before it closed at 5:20! Also, we got to see a wedding ceremony inside! I didn’t take any photos because it felt personal even though it was in a very public place and many tourists had their cameras and phones out. Also I think this is where I got my two mosquito bites :( I was waving the umbrella in front of me like a shield but I don’t think it was really a deterrent :(

Shirokuma Cafe!! I usually call this show Panda Cafe, cuz one of the characters is a panda but it’s really called Polar Bear’s Cafe, cuz Polar Bear owns it.
Chosen was really nice to go here with me even though he had no idea what it was. This is Jo-Ann’s favorite place in Tokyo (maybe all of Japan?).
I had so much fun here, because on top of eating delicious food we actually did a video call with Jo-Ann while we were eating! She had asked me to get some kind of special coaster thing but when I’d asked the lady at the register she didn’t know what I was talking about. I called Jo-Ann on the phone to see if she could talk to the lady in Japanese but we got the coasters!
Oh yeah and this was one was also fun cuz we took the bus! Instead of the subway like we had been for everything else

Cat cafe!! This one wasn’t planned. We were in Harajuku, walking to the Meiji shrine, and Paula saw it next to the Gap. On our way back we just went up, waiter 10-15 minutes and went in! We think the cats were overstimulated. They probably had way too much interaction with humans, so they weren’t super active. I noticed other people had a lot of cars around them but for some reason it was really hard to get a cat to play with me. Only when I had food (which Paula bought), did they come. That last video/gif was me teasing the cat because it would only be near me if I had food. I knew as soon as I gave it to him he’d walk away and I was right :( 30 minutes here flew by! But it was a nice break to rest our legs. This was on our first day in the evening, and I think we were already past 12k steps (at least). The cat I fed was the prettiest cat. So photogenic!

Okay. The owl cafe was CRAZY COOL! When we first went inside I didn’t even notice the owls because they were all sitting so still they looked like statues. Then every place I looked I could see more and more owls!
This place felt the most special because it’s run by a couple who takes all the owls home every night! They let the owls roam free in their house! They’ve been doing this cafe since 2014. Before we went in, we were reading a big booklet that had descriptions for every single owl and I wondered out loud “who wrote all these?” because they were so cute and detailed. It made sense once I found out from the guy because he said “they’re part of our family”. I thought that was so cute. Also when he was trying to get an owl from my arm back to him, he’d get close to the owl and say something softly to it. So it seemed like him and his wife really have a special relationship with their owls!
I got to hold Snowman and Sweet Potato (the tiny one). Sweet Potato made little hoo-hoo chirp sounds when the guy was trying to get him off my arm, and the guy told me it meant he didn’t want to leave!! Also right before that the guy pointed out how Sweet Potato was only standing on one leg, which meant he was relaxed and he trusted me. *KAWAII* !!!!!
