Mod Trilo: I'm not the best with these personality type things, but I'll give it a go!
Helena's Enneagram type might be #6, the Loyalist. She's dedicated to protecting her people, and suspicious of the intentions of outsiders. She and Jackie don't get along - because they're new to the group, but maybe also because they're so similar in this regard?
For Meyers-Briggs type, I see Helena as an ESFJ, "the Consul". She's kind, social, and focused on the needs of the group. She likes to solve problems where she sees them, and in return, loves to be viewed as the protector of the group, which makes her feel important and needed.
And lastly, Helena is a Neutral Good like her brother. She's not the most rigid rule-follower, preferring to put the safety of her people first, but also wants to be liked and respected. She does her best to be a good person in the situation she's in.
What are the personality types of the characters?
Mod Tag: Sam definitely fits into the Enneagram type two personality: the helper. In terms of MBTI, he fits into the INFJ-T type. He's an innovator and advocate at heart, but is led more by his emotions and can have turbulent moods. He's neutral good, as he believes that kindness should come first and doesn't really concern himself with laws, though he doesn't consider himself a rebel by any means.
(Note from Mod Caide: Wow, he was very prepared for that...)

Mod Trilo: Helena honestly has no eye for color at all. She may be the group's mender and outfitter, but do NOT trust her to dress you nicely. If she lived in the modern day she'd probably wear horrible neons and clashing prints. If you asked, though, she'd probably pick green - the color of the rare bits of life that survive in the Heap. The color of hope, at least for her.
What's your character's favorite color(s)?
Mod Caide: Hot pink, followed by purple. ...hm? After that? Brown.

Mod Tag: I think that Sam is too nervous of a driver to be good at it, he worries a lot and is likely too anxious. I can see him being a public transit enjoyer in a modern AU so that he can do other things while commuting to whatever.
How good would each of them be at driving? In a modern AU (unless Mythos has cars??)
Mod Caide: Mythos does not have cars, but this is an interesting one.
Jackie would definitely be a good driver, and probably with both cars and motorbikes at that. I could see them owning both a truck (for genuine utilitarian reasons, not weird macho stuff) and a motorcycle (because they think they look cool and hot on a motorcycle (they are correct)).

Mythos OST, Track 1.008: "Sam"
youtube
Mod Caide: Back with another song I composed for Mythos, and I bet you can't guess what this one is by the name.
That's right, it's a theme for Sam! This was another of my earliest tracks and is pretty simple, but I think it turned out pretty good and represents Sam quite well.

Okay, but what DnD class would they be?
Mod Caide: I'd peg Jackie as a Sorcerer. I think of Sorcerers as the sort of bold, self-assured, self-taught, and self-driven individualists of the spellcasting classes, which I think is a good fit for them overall.
Mod Tag: I've played Sam as both a Ranger and a Druid in BG3 lol, so perhaps one of those. I think a Ranger fits him more personality-wise, but I also appreciate the more magic/healer aspects of Druids for him

Mythos OST, Track 1.002: "The Forgotten Heap"
youtube
Mod Caide: I've actually made a few different songs as a sort of OST for Mythos. I figured I should go through and post them here.
They're a bit out of order, because I decided on an actual track order before I made all of them. I haven't actually made the main theme, which would be track 1.001, so you get this one instead.
This theme, "The Forgotten Heap", was made for the in-universe area of the same name. It's actually the location that the "Of Monsters and Men" short story takes place in, as well as where Mythos's main story will begin.

Mod Caide: I had to think on this a bit, but I ended up landing on a spider to represent Jackie. I think their association as a crafty/scheming animal is a pretty clear fit, but it works in some more subtle ways as well.
Spiders rely on their schemes (webs), yes, but when push comes to shove, they aren't pushovers, either. In some cultures they also symbolize destiny or the ability to forge their own path.
Finally, I also think the fact that spiders are a very stereotypically disliked and misunderstood animal also fits Jackie well鈥攖hey're an outsider, whose way of thinking and unabashed pride in themself (perhaps particularly their very open sexuality) might lead others to judge them on false pretenses.
What animal represents your character?
Mod Tag: I've deliberated on this for quiet a bit and I ended up picking a cat to best represents Sam. He enjoys the company of others and enjoys attention, but he won't go out of his way to get said attention. He's quiet and reserved most of the time.

What kind of person does your character like?
Mod Caide: Despite being a huge flirt, Jackie isn't actually all that interested in the concept of a committed relationship鈥攖hey view romance more as something just a step deeper than the casual flirting they partake in than as a way of pursuing a more permanent relationship. Beyond that, they tend to avoid romance so as not to hurt others; they enjoy the "freedom" of being uncommitted and aren't willing to compromise on it, and they make that stance very clear as they don't want it to hurt anyone who might view them as a real romantic option.
If they were to fall for someone in the more traditional way, it would have to be someone who either shared or accepted their views on romance and sexuality. That aside, it'd probably be someone who could understand the way they think鈥攕omeone who recognized their colder side, and who could love and accept both it and the cheerier side of themself that they show to others.
Mod Tag: Sam values loyalty over all else and is conscious of this preference. Aside from loyalty, Sam enjoys the feeling of being protected and loved, though perhaps in more subtle ways. He learned kind treatment from Helena and still values that in his other relationships. He doesn鈥檛 have much romantic experience and doesn鈥檛 know if he鈥檚 deserving of such, but perhaps he can learn his own worth and gain confidence in himself and others...
Mod Trilo: Helena doesn't have much experience with romance (or any at all, really) at the start of the story. Who's got the time, when you're raising your brother and trying to keep yourself alive? She's so busy taking care of everyone else that, maybe, someone caring for her in the same way would catch her notice. Helena wants to be with someone who she can see as an equal, a strong yet kind person who can take some of the weight off her shoulders. She'd definitely fall for someone who sees her as herself, and not just as a protector.
Mod Kj: Strade definitely likes those he can protect or that he feels more physically powerful than. He likes those who are more emotionally intelligent, as he himself is bad at recognizing feelings or situations. He also likes those who are more technical-thinking and intellectual, as he finds the contrast in thinking to be refreshing. He doesn't consciously know it, but he also needs someone that can talk him down from his stupid antics. No matter what though, Strade needs somebody.

What is your character's body count (murder)?
Mod Caide: As of the start of the story, Jackie has never killed another human鈥攖hey've never even met one, outside of their family. Of course, the human population is so low that there isn't much point in discussing that. Now, when it comes to the other intelligent creatures that call the Heap home鈥攂oth Monsters like Krimling or Kumori and other races like the Kritta (the Heap kinda has a 'k' theme, huh?)鈥攖hey've killed plenty in the name of survival, and for much of their life they haven't had allies to split the kill count with. Including them, their body count is at least a few dozen.
Ask the other version of this question later when the series is over. ;)
Mod Tag: By most standards, probably none. But Sam considers a lot of things to be humanoid and possessing emotion so he likely feels guilt for most anything he's killed, even if it was a monster or done in self defense. It's why he picks to be a healer over a fighter when he can.
Mod Kj: Strade had a pretty rough upbringing, leading him to need to fend for himself from a pretty young age. He had to provide for himself and conning and tricking others was his main form of doing so. If I were to make a guess, his body count would be close to 20 at this point in his life.

Mod Kj: I associate Strade with deep reds and orange hues. Maroon is his favorite though.

Mod Kj: When I think of Strade I usually think of a Buck deer or an Elk. Their bold antlers and just overall stunning energy really draws me to them. I'm surprised I don't think of a predatory animal when I think of him, but I think the peaceful aura under a veil of power (the horns) fits him better.
What animal represents your character?
Mod Tag: I've deliberated on this for quiet a bit and I ended up picking a cat to best represents Sam. He enjoys the company of others and enjoys attention, but he won't go out of his way to get said attention. He's quiet and reserved most of the time.
