as a persian girl i really wish that everyone informs themselves about the protests in Iran !!! people have no internet access, are being killed and beaten to death on the streets. the whole political system is a joke and a threat to human rights for all people in that country. it is my duty to use my voice for these people who aren't able to do so and i hope you do the same!!!
this is a women's rights issue and a human rights issue.
Hassan is at risk of being executed. His only wish is to see his daughter one last time. Please spread his name on your social media platforms. Let’s do all we can to save his life. His daughter deserves a father and Hassan deserves to live to see his daughter grow up.
Ashkan Mahmoodi Nejad has recorded a video of himself explaining how the “police” forcefully pulled his wife, Somayeh Mahmoodi Nejad, out of a taxi, fired six bullets at her and killed her in front of their 8 y.o child.
Somayeh was an innocent woman and was killed in cold blood in front of her little child.
I firmly believe we will not have a successful movie adaptation of It until the director accepts that the focus of the story is not horror.
The clown doesn’t fucking matter. It’s not about him. It’s about growing up in a shitty town with people who suck as much as you do. I don’t give a shit about mr clown and even less of a shit about that good for nothing turtle. The only clown I care about is Richie Tozier and he’s in thin ice for a completely separate reason.
Are you looking for a way to support the people protesting in Iran?
Zhina Amini (Reported as Mahsa Amini, her birth name) a Kurdish woman was killed earlier this month by the morality police in Iran for wearing a headscarf in what they deemed to be an improper manner. Protests have since broken out across the country and a number of other Iranians have been killed since.
The internet has been shut down in many places and deaths are incredible common. The last time the Iranian government shut down the internet like this, over a thousand people died.
So what can you do?
Share Iranian people’s words and news about what is going on.
Recognize that this is not about Islam but about a tyrannical government (so don’t use this as an excuse to be Islamophobic). These people need our support, not our commentary.
Help support Iranians gain access to proxies through apps like the Tor Project’s Project Snowflake. This will pair you, who is likely in a safer country (I say as someone in the US who assumes much of following is in North America or Europe), with an Iranian person trying to access the internet as long as you are online. This is a really simple step you can take to help Iranians connect to the outside world so they can use their voices and let loved ones know they are alive.
If you see people reporting that the Islamic Regime in Iran has dissolved the Moral Police, they are perpetuating propaganda. The laws haaven't changed. The provision for the Morality Police is still enshrined in Iranian law. The regime has merely told the Morality Police to stand back and stand by.
The revolution underway in Iran is not just about the Morality Police but about the entire regime and its 40 year oppression of the people.
Instead of listening to Western media outlets, listen to the voices of Iranian, Kurdish, Khuzestani, Baloch, and other activists who are fighting for liberation.
