“Of course I trust you.” The response surprised him as it fell from his lips, but it was incredibly truthful. Whether he had realized it or not the brunette had become comfortable with the other. She was someone he could say anything to and he hoped it was the same vice versa. “We could be going to a hot dog stand and it would be worth it. I am starving.” He spoke with a smile as he was led by the other.
Clio couldn’t help her bright smile as she led him to her aunt’s house. She knocked on the door before she heard her aunt’s voice calling her in. “This is my aunt’s house... She always lets us come over just about whenever any of us want to.” To any of her houses, and the fact that she was a goddess meant she could be at all of them at once. “Hestia, meet Bellamy, Bellamy this is my aunt Hestia.” The woman held out her hand for the young man and raised an eyebrow out her niece. “He’s hungry,” she explained.
Hestia smiled. “Of course, welcome. Is there anything in particular you want?”

“She is six years younger than I am, but she acts older than she is.” He missed Octavia. He missed his whole family, really. He hadn’t seen them except for Christmas and Thanksgiving and he was starting to miss them more and more. “Bread, huh?” He chuckled lightly. “Why is that?” He was genuinely curious. She still seemed so mysterious to him, though he couldn't put his finger on why exactly that was. “I really do want to know more about you.”
Clio nodded in understanding, gods and goddesses often grew up quickly, they did not get the chance to be children very often. “My aunt always made bread, and she is the best cook, but she always made sure the whole family had food.” Especially when there were 9 girls all needing food at once, keeping the whole of the family fed was a difficult job for her aunt but she did amazing. “You can always ask me questions, Bellamy, I am curious about you as well.”

“Good. I’m starving.” A tired smile stretched across his face as he stood, offering a hand to the other. “You know any good places around here? I am not too familiar with the area.” He admired her shining eyes as she stood, there was something different in them that most other people didn’t have. He walked heavily down the sun-drenched sidewalk, soaking in the warmth. “Do you think we’ll find anything significant here?”
They were close to one of her aunt’s homes, as he asked her if there was any good place to eat. It was all she could think about. Her aunt kept homes in the mortal world for her family to come to visit when they were in their mortal forms. This was a perfect opportunity to stop by. “Do you trust me?” She asked him with a smile as they walked down the sidewalk, she already began leading him to one of the small homes of Hestia. “I think so, I have a good feeling that this trip will be worth it.”

“I didn’t think muses traveled so far from Parnassus. Are you not worried for what you will see down on earth or are we inspiring the next GREAT mind of the era?”
He leans over the edge of the POND he’s crouched beside, studying his reflection momentarily as washes his hands off from the DAYS activities ( the likes of which he preferred not getting into all things considered ).
“I don’t figure you expect to be returning any time soon, because if not I’d ask you do me the favor of inspiring someone to write a more EXTENSIVE explanation of the Greeks and our Pantheon considering the fact that Artemis is now…ABSENT if you will.”
“We have to travel around, how else can we inspire people? Why do you think that people call others muses? We were certainly the first and we bestow that upon a few lucky people.” She looks into the pond before she looks back at him.
Clio pursed her lips, she was trying to figure out how to change this now for humans. Artemis still had her place in stories, but it would be important for the humans to know that things had changed. “I am working on that bit, it’s not particularly easy. But I plan to spend time with you. I often spend time with the gods, helping them out and also watching their activities. Often with humans I hide my presence but I do not do so with immortal beings.”

@mythashistory–––––STARTER CALL ( accepting ! )
“Wandering rather far from home?”
HE GLANCES up from his book, the MUSE before him the last person he had expected to see ( but usually that was more APOLLO’S realm of expertise than his own so he wouldn’t really know anyway ). He pauses where he is and leans over, RISING from his seated position before speaking again.
“Pray tell does HISTORY seem to be shifting under the weight of change or does it withstand the test of time as it always does?”
“Both, history will always be there but it is constantly changing, both in what is true of the past, the evidence that mortals find, and how the past is communicated.” Often muses did not just stay in their palace, although a part of them was always working there, they had to be out in the world to actually be muses.
She looks at Karter wondering just how he is, and wondering if he was bearing the weight of the change well. “But I am more curious about how you are doing, whether than how history is.”

“I’m curious by nature, and was fortunate enough to be born with a particular sensitivity to magic. This sensitivity is particularly pronounced for matters of life and death; you might even say it’s a very part of my being.” His gaze flicked to the right, his magic tentatively reaching out to the picture in an attempt to determine its origin and makeup. It was strong, different… Old. “The claims you make are wild and bold; run-ins with the divine is almost unheard of in this day and age.
“So I’m sure you’ll find no offence when I challenge you to prove it.” Odon’s smile never faltered. “Tell me something that only a person of the divine could know.”
“What I have is not magic, it is power. So much different than magic, though it does share similarities. I am sure Hecate has bestowed magic upon you fairly however.” She raised an eyebrow at him as he suggested that she would need to prove her power to him. However she had to remind herself the humans had not feared real power in a very long time.
“What would you like to know? Shall I tell you where the real city of troy was? What about the truth of Atlantis? Or Pompeii? Or something about Alexander the Great? However anything that I tell you, you could suggest that I made up.”

“Thanks.” He mumbled as he watched her finish, noticing how delicate her hands were but how deliberate each movement was. “It already feels better.” Eyes met with hers as a wide smile spread across his lips. They had never interacted like this yet, sweaty, dirty, digging in the dirt for history. The ponytail that kept her hair up showed every feature of her face, he took a moment to study it all. “Back to work? Or do you wanna grab something to eat?”
She was often glad to be in the modern age, the Tudor period had been horribly smelly. But she still always appreciated getting a bit of dirt under her nails, and a bit of sweat never hurt anyone. The young man looked handsome as he relaxed after almost a half day’s work. “I think that some food would be good, especially for you.” She did not need it, but he would need food.

“Your power rolls off of you in waves. It is colorful, full of life, yet tinged with death. The scent of it - death - lingers on you, too. Yet somehow, you don’t seem to be a part or cause of it.” Odon confidently stepped in front of the girl, blocking her path. “What are you?”
Clio stepped back as the man stopped her, and she listened to the man. “I’m surprised you can feel that much, it certainly is true, I rarely need to be the cause unless I am protecting myself or what is mine.” Even when things were destroyed that were under her realm she did not always seek revenge. To the side a vivid picture showed, one of a battle millenia before, where Alexander conquered and Egypt fell to him. “I am a muse, a goddess, a lover of history, the creator of history and recorder of the stories. A devoted servant, an epic poet, the person who is always watching.”

“That right?”
AND THEN it clicks. Where had he heard something like THAT before. SOMEONE probably sent her to ensure he’s not making foolish decisions ( AS HE USUALLY did ) but after a second of consideration he pauses briefly, ANGER subsiding to something more akin to sardonic frustration.
“Sounds an awful lot like m’bein’ CHECK UP ON. Don’ tell me SHE sent ya t’make sure I don’ DIE.”
There’s a VAGUE gesture toward the sky as he overtly refers to whom he’s SPIRITUALLY linked for all intents and purposes, but it could stand to reason that she was here for PERSONAL reasons rather than INSTRUCTION. It wasn’t like the muses would’ve LISTENED to Artemis any who since they were more closely tied to APOLLO if anything.
“OR didja come here t’hear all th’times ‘ve done somethin’ STUPID? Cuz ‘f that’s th’case yer probably not gonna be headin’ anywhere fer a while. I got twenty five YEARS worth a dumb things t’share.”
“No she did not send me, however making sure you don’t die, seems to be a full time job for her.” Clio sighed at him, he was certainly an interesting case, especially because of who had chosen him, and of course he seemed to do quite a lot that garnered her attention.
She could not help the smile that came to his face as he suggested she came here to listen to him. “It seems you have quite low opinions of us gods. Which I suppose could be fair considering some of them. I know more about you then you probably think. I keep track of many major events, and I have certainly written about you both for the mortals and the immortals. I am a journalist, though that isn’t why I am here. I don’t need you to tell me.” She shrugged, why she was here she was not quite sure, but she had felt the need to come to see him.
“How well do you understand the fates?” She asked him. “They affect not only the mortals but the gods, but with the gods it’s often like a prodding that you know you have to listen to. Basically there was a not so gentle prodding that i should see you.”
“I’m Clio by the way.”

battle-lust:
History was painful. Though he had many victories and at one time, he’d been truly happy, most of those memories were tainted with what came afterward or what was waiting for him at home. “I guess…individually, it’s better to let go of the past. Even if we’re immortal.”
A bitter cackle burst from his chest, actually causing him pain. “But that’s the kicker, isn’t it? How many people actually stay together, with minimum hiccups, for a millenia?” He held up his hand, counting the couples that had been happy, and remained happy, from back home. “I don’t even think there are enough to take up all my fingers!”
“We can’t completely forget the past, it shapes who we are. It is still important even if we want to forget it, but I don’t have the luxury of forgetting.” Her mind was consumed with facts, figures, stories, myths, legends, wars, and battles. When she wrote it down it eased her mind, that was what she was supposed to do after all, as the muse of history.
Clio sighed when he began to start thinking of the couples. “What is minimum hiccups? That rarely happens for mortals, let alone immortals, a hiccup once every decade is lucky. Every five years is more likely, and every year is reasonable. Of course after a millenia things are far more complicated. But it would be nice to have a constant love, or even a love that comes back.”
