He looked up, repressing the smallest jump as the voice surprised him out of his focus. He hadn't noticed Jae-hyo's arrival but wasn't going to let him know that.

Rufus was sitting amongst the disassembled remains of any piece of technology he could find in this damned safehouse. He may or may not have been trying to put together a weapon from next to nothing. It wasn't as clean as he would have liked it to be, there were a few smears of black grease 'pon his white sleeves, but it was a necessary sacrifice. Though he saw a system in his small piles of parts, he would concede silently that it must look a mess to anyone else.

He shrugs lightly and walks past Tseng to sit down. "Just checking what you'd do; you can't be too careful with things like this. Reflexes, muscle memory, instinct... I have to be sure that you're always in control of those, it wouldn't do to have you lash out."
