In the mid-1990s, Mann began photographing landscapes on material called a wet plate, and used the same 100 year-old 8x10 format bellows view camera that she had used for all the previous bodies of work. These landscapes were first seen in Still Time, and later featured in two shows presented by the Edwynn Houk Gallery in NYC the process of the wet plate would be.., in which glass plates are coated with collodion, dipped in silver nitrate, and exposed while still wet. This gave the photographs what the New York Times called “a swirling, light image with a center of rare clarity,
I have chosen the photograph “Damaged Child” this was created in 1984 and was seen to be Sally Mann’s first portrait of any of her children. She was inspired when her daughter came home from a friend’s house covered in gnat bites, giving her a swollen face the portrait was at first spontaneous, but Mann had her daughter pose in the same position the next day. It became an obsession for Mann, when she realized that she had perfect subjects to photograph living in her own house. It was also extremely controversial, because viewers of the piece worried about the girl. Was she abused? Did her mother hit her for the sake of the photograph? It is hard for the public to look at a photograph entitled, Damaged Child and not be concerned about abuse, especially when it seems actual child abuse is all too common in our society. This image was created using a old 1980s black and white film camera. The photo is completely natural in many ways we could say to natural and really gives of a bad view and twisted view on the photographer. In this photograph, I can see a very sad and lonely child that looks scared. The child looks like it’s very unhappy and unsettled as he shows regret in his eyes, when really it was the bites. But as said above it was given the public he judgemental views of abuse. In the right eye, we can see the eyes fully opened and the bellow is completely swollen witch any photographer in this day and age would question and avoid the meaning behind it. Really in this photo only the photographer knows what’s going on in the camera and in this image camera doesn’t capture a happy image. The photographer had set the mood of the image using black and white which shows the black and white tones even more than colour and really the black and white brings out the shadows which could give me the opinion of emptiness. this almost gives me the impression that the photographers trying to include a message of secrecy and darkness as the theme to all of her photography is decay, death, and meaning behind a person and in this picture. This photographer has given me some inspiration with the technique of using old cameras as a raw image to really see the true capture behind the camera. I have linked this in with my project as sally capturtes true feeling and emotion in her photos and that is the main aspect of my final piece for people to notice what people can really hide in real life from people.

Time management
over the whole period of my FMP, i have really struggled on the concept of time. i began my project on a great high but honestly fell short on ideas and how to increase my project and be eye-catching and intriguing to the people's eye. over time I slowly decided to go along with the whole theme of neglect anxiety depression and body and the negative thoughts in life as I couldn't specify in one project but still struggled with time.

Photo shoot
what is this picture? being limited to my resources I set out to look for the thing to photograph and that's when I came across a burnt down car and thought it would be great to include into my project, the angles I aimed for during this quick shoot was a low angle as it might make the subject seem larger than reality, whereas a high angle makes the subject look very small.i used my canon 5d , mark 1 with a canon 17-55mm lens. with this lens, i can get close up shots and a high definition in specific areas.
i love how the lighting is in a selection of images as it brings out an ery image which was obviously made with the reflection of the sun bouncing off the lens and shows the definition which over all turned out great.

Michal Macků
While it's probably not surprising that photographic paper is his chosen medium, it's how he works with it that will demand your attention. After exposing and fixing the film, Michal separates the gelatin emulsion from the paper backing and proceeds to altering the developed image as he pleases, often snipping, slashing, moving it around, and putting together an assembly of several negatives to endow them with new meaning. He calls this technique and the series he has been making out of it since the end of 1989, "gellage," a portmanteau of "gelatin" and "collage."
Of all the mind-blowing pieces Michal has made so far through this laborious method, the most compelling ones for me are the ripped and slashed portraits. His subjects, aside from being exposed in their nakedness, also seemingly strip themselves bare of all other emotions but anxiety, rage, and self-hate. Depression and self-harm have always been subjects explored through riveting and sometimes controversial artworks, and Michal's gellages prove to be among those that effortlessly get the message across.
His other gellage assemblies are also just as gripping and provocative. Looking at his manipulations of the human body mostly his own, in fact in its nakedness, I think about all other delicate yet arresting issues like loss, identity crisis, helplessness, disability, sexuality, and even mindless conformity. I like how his altered images seem to paint a different picture for each viewer, yet all of them exposing a side of humanity that we're nonetheless all familiar with.
“Quote” On his work, Michal Macků says: "I use the nude human body (mostly my own) in my pictures. Through the photographic process [of Gellage], this concrete human body is compelled to meet with abstract surroundings and distortions. This connection is most exciting for me and helps me to find new levels of humanness in the resulting work.
"My work places 'body pictures' in new situations, new contexts, new realities, causing their 'authentic' reality to become relative. I am interested in questions of moral and inner freedom. I do what I feel, and only then do I begin to meditate on what the result is. I am often surprised by the new connections I find in it."

This photo shoot was done in Southampton grass grounds in natural daytime lighting on a park bench I had no other source of lighting which in many ways was hard as I had to play around with the auto white balance in the camera, I am overall very happy with this shoot apart from some little details that I would take into consideration next time and for me that would be the clothing choice. if it was a preference I would have chosen a full black outfit and an overside jacket, I overall like how in comparison to the park bench and the model is as it brings out the different details and overall comes out more effective. i have chosen to keep these range of images black and white and slightly out of focus as it leaves us the impression to think why is it black and white and why is it slightly blur, i want to draw people in pick in the little details and see what their thoughts portray into the image, I like about this image that there is a lack of people around now this to is a key park as i can link it to isolation as in the person and the context that the model feels as well as showing the person viewing this image what is captured in there mind and how different peoples thoughts are being programmed.
i thought i would try the previous techniques iv research into and give a go of trial and error overall I'm very happy with the trial i just want to try a version on photo shop where I superimpose the layers on top of each other giving a repeated image but layers of faid to bring out the idea of multiple feelings and emotions

What are multiple exposures?
A multiple exposure is a type of photograph that is created by exposing the same frame of film to light more than once. Multiple exposures allow a photographer to superimpose one subject or scene over another on the same frame of a photograph. Cameras today have many extra functions that are often buried in menus and forgotten. Last year, I bought the Canon 5D Mark II and, after a few months and speaking to my tutor i realized that there were some interesting features I had never played with. After figuring out that there was a way to do in-camera double exposures, I immediately started experimenting. At first it was very hit and miss as i hadnt got to grips of the lighting exposure and the timings as most images would come across superimposed or a blury mess but after a great deal of practice my final shoots came out as wanted the settings i used was;

Materials needed
as I come closer to the end of my project I need to start thinking about the materials needed, over the two years I have to study photography I have learned many of techniques and skills that I could use for my FMP.
one of the techniques I have thought about was using film photography, Film photography is where it all began. Before the birth of digital photography, we all took photographs on strips of plastic. Further back from that, we used glass and metal sheets. One of the many reasons I like the film is the impunity of a natural photo a photo you can't edit. Sure, you can have filters that give you an impression of sepia toning, but nothing beats doing it in the physical world. The tones are different for each print. This is down to temperature, time and the number of chemicals used. They all have an effect. You leave the process up to chance. This gives your images a unique quality.
A second option I have is motion blur this is particularly aiming for a motion pause photo a perfect link into my project with personality disorders. motion blur by recreating “realistic” shutter speed can lend a visually pleasing and natural look to motion graphics. From a compositing perspective, motion blur is vital to match special FX elements to live action elements; and you can apply the motion blur effect in After Effects to finesse the composition, add realism, exaggerate movement, match shots, make jittery footage easier & smoother to watch and make motion look more natural.

Muhammed Faread
Captivated by the double exposure effect, graphic designer Muhammed Faread sees it as a form of poetry. Here, large, straightforward portraits contain a smaller figure perhaps an inner self who interacts with this interior landscape and expresses feelings of hope and joy.

Health and safety
Health and safety is a key feature in photography as there are many risks being in a studio and clients or visitors need to be aware of them.
when having my visitors and clients come to the studio i had to make sure that all wires and equipment was out of the way of a trip hazard as wires are easy to trip over we have to cover them with wire mats so there flush with the floor and the risk of falling over is very minimal, another heath and safety precaution is that all photographers must as if the model is epileptic this is because many flashing lights are involved in the studio and anything can cause a fit and the photographer needs to be aware of the situation.
on regards of working outside as a photographer you always need to be aware of your surroundings and potential people that could cause a harm to you as you are carrying heavy expensive equipment around with you and a person may try to find the opportunity to steal your stuff. apart from that the only other risks that are involved are that carrying the equipment over long periods of times could potentially damage your back and some caution should be taken out if this is the case

Dreams
Meanings behind our dreams we all have dreams and well forget them but is it more that we choose to forget them? We may not remember dreaming, but everyone is thought to dream between 3 and 6 times per night It is thought that each dream lasts between 5 to 20 minutes and around 95 percent of dreams are forgotten by the time a person gets out of bed. dreams can help you learn and develop long-term memories and make you think better in many ways about a situation. looking into the process of the dream i came across the fact that blind people dream more with other sensory components compared with sighted people. Nightmares are distressing dreams that cause the dreamer to feel a number of disturbing emotions. Common reactions to a nightmare include fear and anxiety. They can occur in both adults and children, and causes include series of stress, fear, trauma, emotional difficulties, and a server case on a few occasions of illness. In many dreams people have the same themes account too them through out there life time everyone has a form of similarity and over time it has become a regularity. Water is one of the most common dreams, and is usually associated with the emotions and the unconscious. Large bodies of water (ocean, lake, pool) usually represent the unconscious itself. … To be underwater may suggest you are feeling overwhelmed or you are in over your head emotionally or financially. Getting chased almost always means you’re just feeling in danger or under pressure. You might need to look at what’s stressing you out most in life. Dreams about death often indicate “the symbolic ending of something, whether that’s a phase, a job or a relationship.” He suggests that a dream about death can also indicate attempts to resolve anxiety or anger directed toward the self. Death means you’re wanting a new beginning if it’s the death of a loved one. as well as these dreams you have little ones such as being later to class, being naked or being mugged they all have a purpose behind it, another occurring dream is falling, Falling in your dream means you are lacking any sense of security, stability, and confidence. You are not sure where you stand in a particular circumstance or in your relationship. Perhaps you are at risk of losing your job or losing your home. Such a loss can make you feel that the ground is falling away underneath you. the thought process behind all of this is how day to day actions can affect a person's actions or thought process day to today so if i was having a bad day my dream the night before could of impact of predicted the scenario and adapted m,y brain to them ideas.

as time moves on.
over time I have worked on a small plan each week what I want to achieve by the end of my final major project, this week I had set myself a target of updating my studio work and reflecting how my studio work was and what improvements were needed, unfortunately I couldn't make the studio and test out so instead I played around with my at home studio that I have so i could become close to the format of the lighting and the health and safety risks involved.

Hieronymous Bosch
Hieronymous Bosch was a artist from the Netherlands much of his work is involved between the concept of heaven and hell i personally don’t like his choice of expressing his work and find it strange and un appealing in my personal opinion to other people they may see this as a imaginative way that he sees the world in a utopia/ dream way.
many pieces of his work are made using very contrasting colours for example the utopia concept ‘heaven’ as he would project the cartoon like illustrations, in the third image in the left hand corner he has used the contrasting of blue and pink and green to make some colours stand out more than others as well as this he has used a focal piece in the centre of the image itself to draw the viewers eyes into the centre of
