The Ecology Project
I’m doing this project individually and my game is based around the idea of the ocean / sea. It relates to ecology as it demonstrates how we negatively impact the sea life and in this case, our main character “Mr.Fish”. As the story board demonstrates, in this game we play the fish and consume coins in the sea. The coins is display the garbage and the fish had already consumed so much human trash that I used the foam models we designed as the icon of the health system in the game. The game ends after you bump into too many mindless, garbage eating fish. In the beginning I imagined myself making a 3d game so I modeled it as so but eventually chose to make a simple 2d game that conveys the concept nicely. I found it hard making what I had in mind but after all the youtube videos and extra learning I was able to build this game the way that I want to with assets that I designed myself.

Visualize
Initially we were handed a folder full of papers and asked to create a ad for a pen using whatever we have. So I made this great provocative work using methods that we were taught previously.
Then we were asked to make a collage to represent a magazine cover in pairs. I made this collage with one of my colleagues in very quick timing.
And we were told to make a booklet by folding and cutting and the pieces of paper given to us which turned out to be easier than it seemed
And finally we were asked to finish the words design and bag so I completed in a seamless manner too.

Represent
Using the remesh then smooth off the app to show the contours properly I was able to clearly display the clay model as initially intended as you can see. The software I used was provided by Meshmixer and Meshoutline, with them I completed it.

Amplify
Using unity I first put shapes in different colors and sizes and played around with the physics. Then I made a video of them falling and added a mesh of my shape to it.
here’s a link to the video of my shapes falling

Then I modeled an intricate rube goldberg machine specifically to illustrate collisions of multiple objects to initiate motion consecutively. Here’s a process video of me making it and the final machine too.

Sample
In sample I first 3d scanned my model with multiple apps on my phone then scanned in the lab using the laser scanner to produce a higher quality scan. Here are a few photos of my scans and a renders.

Photography
After blend I had a a couple photoshoot sessions where I took photos of my models. I took some normal colored photos, close up photos, some black and white photos, some unique photos with movement and other elements.

Blend
Next I made stuck papermache onto my shape and slowly kept adding clay onto it to form a completely clay covered shape.
As you can see it first started as a wooden form covered in glue and paper then turned into fully clay model. After I covered it I let it dry then once more refined it to make it smooth.
Then I made a foam form around my shape that also displayed the character of my shape nicely. I did this by gluing a big amount of foam onto my shape then slowly cutting it and shaping it down as a form of subtractive forming or sculpting.
After that I took decided to make another additive form using my Polaroid camera’s empty cartridges and it turned to be a very visually attractive form. I took the cartridges and stuck the back of them against the wood using a glue gun then used strings of glue to keep the inside more stable.
And by the end the shape turned out to be a very interesting and unique looking structure as you can see.

Digital and Analog cut
After Filter I digitally traced and cut different shapes using Adobe Illustrator and made 10 couples of shapes so I could then physically cut the shapes and form an abstract structure.
Out of these 10 shapes I opted to use this one that I found very visually appealing so I refined it and this was the final trace:
Next I put these models on Rhino and turned them from a 2d concept to a 3d form by pushing them into each other and find the best way for them to intersect.
Eventually I finished the cut and printed the 2d sketch and traced it onto wood that I cut to perfectly match my 3d design. Ultimately I made four of them to prepare for my next projects which were the additive and forming Blends.

Filter
For filter I took a recent photo of me in Oslo park and transformed it 20 different times. These transformations were done through tools such us the warp and swirl tool, duplication, tilling tools and color manipulation tools for the purpose of entirely changing the image.
The following 5 images are my favorite 5 from the previously made 20 transformations for filter:
I made this one with a number of different tools, I used black tilling dots and distorted the image with the warp to make a colorful seamless pattern out of the original image. I also intensified the colors and played around with the push and swirl tools.
With this one I used a duplication / mirror tool to transform my original image into a very organized pattern that induced symmetry and I switched the colors with the gradient tool.
With this one I perpetually deep friend the image by expanding a small space of it and continually playing around with the colors and saturation. I pushed around the image and cut parts out while changing the tints and so on.
With this one I stretched the deformed the original image to turn it into a terrain of floors each made of different colors that are unrecognizable when put next to the original image. I also played around with the grain and gradients slightly to add to the obscure effect.
With the last one I chose a simple approach, I used the push and swirl tool and changed the colors to make the picture more vibrant. It is unrecognizable when put next to the original but still contains the flair and the beautiful colors.
