I made this Theon painting to be a wallpaper and if anyone else wants to use it feel free to down-load the high-res version of the .png file. It looks REALLY nice I think, but I’m not biased about that at all. You can download the image file here. Anyway. 2016 has been a nightmare and even George RR Martin wrote on his Livejournal that “Winter is Coming” after the 2016 US Election dumped us all in The States into Hell. Well, “Winter is Coming” is both literally true and figuratively true…I’d argue that Winter is Here already… And as many of you know the US Election is not alone in having made 2016 into a dumpster-fire. It’s been that way for a long time. But you know who is really good at surviving Hell AND Winter? Theon Greyjoy. And if he can do it, maybe so can we. And that’s what this wallpaper is about. Theon survived Hell in the Dreadfort in both the show and the books and he’s still alive as of writing this in both. Theon has always given me a lot of hope. It’s part of the reason he’s my favorite fictional character. Enjoy.

Tagged by @lilalynx​ :’) 5 works I’ve done and what I like : I’m maybe a little weird because I like most of my art. But here are a few I guess I like a little bit more then the rest. 1. Frankenstein’s Monster : Success with using just a few limited colors, mood depicted through lighting and symbolism.

2. Victim of Compromise (Rorschach) : This is pretty much just commentary about how Game of Thrones adapted this arc from ASOIAF and how…Weird things have gotten…But also how in both situations Sansa and Jeyne are victims of compromise. Jeyne is a convenient “Stark” to marry off to Ramsay and Sansa replacing her was also just…Compromise because they cut so much out and dumped her in Jeyne’s place. Which could have worked but for me at least the writing just didn’t…At all…The acting was amazing though, it had that.

3. The Sea is Calling: Movement and texture and also how well it worked seeing that MOST of the figure is obscured.

4. Hey, Young Blood!: This one turned out really nicely textured but also incredibly crisp and clear. I finished this by staying up all night before major abdominal surgery so I’m pretty partial to it.

5. It’s like the Sun Came Out: I like the colors here and the fact that it’s melancholy but not dark.

A) I am proud of Theon for having the men who assaulted Palla whipped. Stannis executed his men for rape. This is a violent culture during wartime, folks! But rape is inexcusable. Theon is REASONABLY violent - when necessary or proper.

B) How Theon treated Kyra was inexcusable, but I don't think she'd have called it rape. He was frustrated and panicked, and he took out his stress on the girl. It was bad, but it doesn't make him a bad man, only flawed.

FYI: Theon did whip and beat the shit out of anyone who tried to rape women after he took Winterfell. Like he whips the fucking shit out of his own men for it. The ironborn rape people all the time when they take over. Thats what they do. Like it fucking…
