Happy Lunar New Year! 🐍🏮🎆
To celebrate the year of the snake, I wanted to combine the snake with my other favorite scaled animal, the goldfish! Growing up as little kid in China, I was always fascinated by the goldfish and koi ponds that are scattered in every park and apartment complex. I would stare at them for hours, mesmerized by their shiny scales and graceful movements. Hopefully I was able to capture that in this painting :D

So.
I went to the very small book release for Warbreaker. I was one of the very last people in line, almost bullied into staying, I went because I needed to return something to a friend and I knew he'd be there. The bookstore employee was like, do you want a numbered one, we have one left? I hesitantly said sure.
The kid in front of me asked a bunch of mistborn questions and had him sign four books. So as I walked up, Brandon said to me, "You've been waiting a while, you get a weird one." And instead of "my breath to yours", he signed it, "Have you seen my squirrel? - Lightsong".
As far as I can tell, I don't think that quote actually made it into the final edit of the book, and I'm like 90% sure he only signed it with that quote in my book. At least on that day.
So yeah, it sticks out in my mind a lot.
Folk, of the cosmere fandom, I have a question. Give me your favorite quotes that are NOT mainstream. I don't want to hear, "Honor is dead, but I will see what I can do", ideals, "the next step", "you will be warm again" etc. I need your niche lines from different books that stuck in your memory but don't get brought up enough in your opinion. Some of mine are:
You know, princess, the worst part about being a mercenary is living up to the stereotype (it's so good in context)
I was a demigod for millennia. Now … I stand in wet clothing, shivering. (Leshwi, WaT)
Never let something trivial like a sense of humor get in the way of a good joke (Yumi and the Nightmare Painter)
#if someone can find the page number its on and Ive somehow managed to miss it over and over again#feel free to show me

I messed up the hot glue a little bit but I'm sure my mistake will eventually be lost to time.

'what's the best that could happen?' cross stitch
asking yourself 'what's the best that could happen?' instead of assuming the worst could make a positive impact to your mental health - it certainly has for me! I created this piece to remind myself during stressful times to consider the best outcome instead of automatically thinking the worst.
the pattern for this beginner-friendly piece can be purchased from my etsy shop here >
