ROOMMATES IDEAS #3
Person A and Person B assembling furniture together
Person A helping Person B search through the trash because Person B has lost something and is afraid that they might have accidentally thrown it away.
Person A bringing home a participation trophy from a contest. They’re ashamed and embarrassed that they didn’t win, but Person B is still proud of them for trying and insists on displaying their trophy in the living room.
Person A buying a giant, silly, inflatable sprinkler toy for the backyard and Person B teasing them, saying they don’t need it and that it’s ridiculous. Then one day, Person A comes home to find Person B in the backyard playing with it.
Person A helping Person B change a light bulb that Person B isn’t tall enough to reach.
Person A is always hot and constantly turns up the air conditioner which annoys Person B who is always cold.
Person A likes to get up early, come downstairs, and open all the curtains so they can enjoy the bright sunlight coming in, but they always make sure to close them before Person B gets up because they know that Person B struggles with light sensitivity.
Person A and Person B printing off all of their selfies together, framing them, and hanging them all around the house.
Person A and Person B both have the same favorite spot on the couch and always try to steal it from each other when they’ve gotten up.
Person A thinks they’re doing a great job keeping their house plants alive but actually, Person B has secretly replaced them with identical-looking fake plants so Person A can’t kill them.

Some Very Dark Villain and Hero Prompts
Anonymous said:Dark the-modern-typewriter, show me the forbidden Dark!Hero + Villain x Hero prompts
Anonymous said:Hi! I’m absolutely enamored with your blog and creativity. Top notch for sure! If it’s possible, do you have any other possessive villain prompts? Those are my absolute favorite!!
Anonymous said:Could we get prompts for a jealous villain with their hero? I’m thinking a little darker with this one. Thanks so much!!!!!
Anonymous said:Hey, could I perhaps request some mind control/love spell prompts? Maybe with the antagonist showing off the protagonist as their new lover in front of the protagonist’s actual lover?
kelsibetsy said:Dark Hero and Villain prompts? The villain torturing the hero?
1) “We could have ruled, together.” “You can’t have two monsters together in the same room.” They dug the blade in further, slowly. “That just makes them normal. Sorry, babe. You had to go.”
2) One second, the hand was warm on the hero’s shoulder. The next second, it was on the floor.
“It’s rude to touch things that don’t belong to you,” said the villain. They wrapped an arm around the hero’s waist. “Perhaps you should run before I decide you don’t deserve to even look.”
3) The hero stared at their family, their friends, their lover, in horror. Blood drenched their flat and it - corpses lined in a row like a shelf of broken dolls. Their ears rang. They couldn’t breathe. “No more distractions now,” the villain murmured. “They weren’t worth you.” Oh god, they couldn’t breathe.
4) “It’s quite ingenious, really.” The villain guided the hero to their lap, enjoying the look of complete and utter helplessness on the lover’s face. “I could do whatever I wanted, and they’ll still beg me for more. They’d do anything for me.” They stroked the hero’s smitten face, stole a long kiss before glancing at the lover once more. “What do you reckon I should have them do to you? I do believe they might still be in there somewhere, screaming.” A nasty smile crossed the villain’s face. “I hope so, anyway. More fun that way.”
5) “You should have stopped trying to fight me while it was still cute,” the villain said. They dug the needle in further, white hot. “Now I just need to make an example of you.”

Big fan of the trope where the high-strung character never sleeps, due to their own anxieties and/or nightmares and/or constantly feeling the need to fight/defend, but then they find that person/group of people that make them feel safe and secure and home, or they otherwise go through a major development to make them feel better, and they try to instinctively fight it at first, but they eventually smile and let their body sag, going to sleep with the knowledge that they’ll be okay…
Big fan of that.

I know we all love a good old injury reveal; It’s good shit. But what about trauma reveal? That’s talked about, but it’s not done. Not nearly as much as I would like. So how about this:
Character A was captured and tortured for weeks at the hands of the villain. The team rescue A, patch up his wounds and A pretends everything is fine, hiding the real trauma.
Fast forward a few months and A and team encounter the villian again. Maybe its just a battle, maybe the good guys all got captured, or maybe the villian was captured by the good guys. It doesn’t matter.
The team doesn’t notice As trembling hands, the way he tries to avoid the villains gaze, the way his fists clench around his weapon - but the villian does. And with the way the usually close, caring team are so casual, so ignorant of As plight, the villain realises they don’t know.
So he takes great pleasure in recounting the torture he put A through in graphic detail, delighting in the heroes horrified faces and reslishing the way A’s face burns in shame.

All around you, people were screaming.
In terror they fled or cowered, desperately trying to put distance between themselves and Them. For a moment all you could do was stand frozen, eyes wide and heart pounding rapidly in your chest, not quite sure if what you were seeing was real. It was only when someone who was fleeing jostled your shoulder as they passed, that you finally snapped out of it. Without a single moments extra hesitation, you ran.
Your feet pounded against the ground, eating up the distance rapidly thanks to your adrenaline, your eyes wide and desperate as you remained intently focused on your goal.
You could feel the exact moment their gaze landed on you, your heart skipping a beat, even as your feet continued to move. All at once their hellfire eyes seemed to glow brighter, lips pulling into a devilish grin as you put on one last burst of speed, heart beating to a frantic tune.
They had just enough time to open their arms up wide, before you slammed into them, their rich chuckle sounding like music to your ears as they embraced you tenderly, careful not to harm you with their impossible strength. You all but melted into their embrace, taking in their scent as the screams faded from your mind.
It was only in their arms that you felt at home.

“Caretaker who loves being a caretaker but doesn’t know how to physically handle it when they’re the one being taken care of” is such a heart-wrenching trope and you can rip it from my cold dead hands

you know those scenes where two characters are running and one falls at a bad time or into a dangerous place and the other character yells their name and reaches out and grabs their hand and refuses to let go and finally pulls them to safety and they both stay there for a moment trying to catch their breath while they hold on to each other real tight

a trope that never goes wrong is
“yes i am a very powerful rival, capable of bringing terror to many. very few can stop me, among the crowd i am considered unstoppable. i am the one of the, if not the best man in my field. however, there is one person who can surpass me: my little sister.”

Good Character Trope
Character A, who is usually very stoic, unemotional, always has their shit together going through something traumatic/stressful/emotionally taxing and they're just trying desperately to keep it all inside because they can't be weak, not in front of everyone. And then Character B just goes up to them and gently pulls them into an embrace and softly tells them "it's okay. you've done enough. you can let it go. you can fall apart."
And A just b r e a k s d o w n. Sobbing, screaming, clinging to B with all their strength as, finally, finally, they let go of everything they've pent up for too long.

Enemies Turned Lovers Prompts
This was not requested, but I made another prompts list called Best Friends Turned Lovers which you can check out if you like, and I felt like compiling some of my personal favorites from the enemies turned lovers trope as well. I hope these inspire you!
“It’s hard to remember we aren’t in a competition anymore.”
“Do we like…hold hands now?”
“Sorry, this is just really different from our constant arguing.”
“I didn’t ever think we’d be here, like this.”
Write about an angel being held captive in hell who falls in love with a demon.
“I don’t fall in love with people very often, I just can’t believe it was you. Out of everyone, you just had to steal my heart. That’s very rude, you know, to steal?”
An angel sent to destroy the one prophesied to bring the world’s destruction falls in love with them instead.
Person A is from a rich family, intelligent and has a sharp tongue. One day, they snuck out to the poor district, curious. They met Person B, strong and independent, who clearly hates the people of the rich district. Not knowing Person A’s real identity, they both became fast friends, running around on top of rooftops at night, stealing breads from vendors only to give them to the beggars and telling each other stories while laying side by side in the flower meadow.
“I keep forgetting that we got over this ages ago.”
“Isn’t it strange to think that just a while back, we were always fighting?”
“I don’t even remember why were fighting.”
“We still have issues to work around, but we’ll get over it.”
“I’m trying to decide if this thing I did is incredibly stupid or…”“What happened? What did you do?”“Well…I fell in love with you.”
“You know nothing about me.”“Oh, but I do. I know you want adventure, that’s why you’re here standing in front of me. You want to rebel like everyone else. You want mystery in your life, passion, romance… and maybe even a little danger.”
“This should be against some sort of rule.”
“How could this happen? They’re so…so pure. Ugh.”
“They’re kind to everyone, even me. I guess that was my weakness all along.”
“All I ever wanted was for someone to respect me. When they did exactly that, I knew I was doomed.”
“Please don’t say you love me.”
“You know I can’t say it, but surely you understand how I feel?”

If you use one or more of these for a story, I would be delighted to read it! Please don’t hesitate to send your writing to me:)

i think my favourite sad trope is when a character gets their favorite person or their family hurt/killed by the villain(s) and they just go Apeshit, and someone else on their side has to hold them back so They don’t get hurt, n they have a “NO! let me GO!” moment before just. collapsing into sobs in the arms of the person who’s holding them back.
like it’s just.

Cliche but still valid Villain x Hero trope:
Villain and Hero going round after round until Hero finally slips up and Villain gets the upper hand, pinning them hard against the wall. Hero’s panting, bruised and bloody, eyes narrowed and defiant, daring Villain to do their worst. And Villain can’t help but give in to impulse and kiss them.
Bonus: Hero freezes up, completely shocked, and does nothing to stop them.
Bonus bonus: Hero freezes for just a moment and then melts, kissing back.
Bonus bonus bonus: Hero kisses back with purpose and then uses the distraction as a chance to finally stun and capture Villain.

Living Together Trope
A trope I’ve recently kind of gotten fascinated by.
Characters forced to live together because of:
- poverty (”If we live together we can split the cost, more money for food!”)
- convenience (”Hey, uh, the subway & my fav restaurant are just around the corner so can we…?”)
- secret attraction (”Damn…he’s hot.”)
- forced circumstances (”Listen, we don’t have enough cells to detain you so you’ll be living with me temporarily.” “Oh great, sharing living quarters with a cop. Must be my lucky day.”)
- protection (”I’m sorry this isn’t the safest neighbourhood, but you’ll be safe here.”)
- aesthetic (”I love this apartment! It’s beautiful!” , “Well, I like it too.” “…I’m calling dibs on the bed!”)
- agreement (”You cook for me in exchange for using my art room for your work, deal?”)
Tag your ships/characters/message me and I’ll try to write a one shot about them!
BTW: You can also choose which reason for living together they have!
