the other day i was going through taylor’s likes from 2019-2020 and january 2020 onward was full of posts thanking taylor for her documentary. fans were talking about how trump has harmed their various marginalized communities and taylor standing up for them meant so much to them. we had such a good relationship back then. what we thought mattered. what we went through mattered, even when it had nothing to do with her. idk man

100%. Taylor only met Brittany last year through Travis. They’re not such old pals that Taylor should have a hard time wrestling with whether to maintain a friendship. Also, Brittany wouldn’t be getting invited to the US Open if it wasn’t for her connection to Taylor.

She is choosing to put this vocally MAGA woman in the spotlight. I would understand if Taylor was just being friendly during team events, but to elevate Brittany’s platform is really gross.

I've seen a lot of "you can have friends with differing political views" and it's quite alarming especially the number of white people who have this mindset. a lot of issues or topics that are deemed as "political" are human rights. if a friend is voting for someone who is, let's say, against immigration and lgbtq, and will try to have laws and policies in place against these groups - how comfortable are you? is this not a topic of discussion why your friend is voting and believing in these things? why are you okay with having a "agree to disagree" mindset when it involves lives of minority groups? because they're funny or good to you? so you look the other way ? it's incredibly privileged to be able to do that. realize that, have these conversations, and set boundaries because it says a lot about you who you choose to surround yourself with
