I just generally love 02x08 Raving so damn much though.
Not just because of the Spark Stiles moment that's stored in it.
It's also because that episode was, and still is, what unlocked Pack Mom Stiles for me.
Stiles alone with Erica and Isaac, who so far have been snarky and cocky and pushing around. But left alone with Stiles in this episode, they both defer to him. He takes the lead, they take the backseat. They follow his orders and commands. They agree to what he tells them to do.
And it clicks all the better considering last episode, Scott officially, verbally agreed to join Derek's pack. Kind of meaning that Stiles also joined the pack.
So, the moment Stiles joins the pack, the betas start following him and his orders.
And it goes even beyond that. This is the episode that first really features Stiles bringing his dad food, healthy food. Watching out for him. Showing his love with food. Which is one of my favorite things to see reflected in fandom by Stiles taking care of the pack by making them eat good/healthy/at all.
This is the episode that really kickstarted Pack Mom Stiles.

It is so sad that the Fandom still writes a better story than the “professional” writer and show runner. The only things worthy from the movie was baby wolf Eli (and his obsession with Roscoe), Mason being a Deputy (loved all the scenes with him, the Sheriff, and Parrish together), and Derek being Eli’s dad (and showing his True Alpha worthiness). Okay I did like seeing Adrian Harris again just because I loved the actor Adam Fristoe in the role. Things missing from the movie… The Sheriff showing a grandfatherly relationship with Eli, The Sheriff being with Melissa, Stiles and Derek as STEREK and Eli’s parents, and Chris & Peter being a partnership out creating balance in the world.
Here I am again with *thoughts*. Even though I can't watch the disaster of the teen wolf movie, I live on the crumbs of these two adorable marshmallow wolves and what it means to Sterek canon.
We all agree that Stiles is the other parent in this equation. For all of the reasons.
I digress.
So yes, Derek burned and went to nogitsune helly-hell. In my mind, and possibly confirmed by Derek's sparkly wolf poof(no kfc Peter here), I can't help but feel Derek's less dead and more in another place. It may be the bitterness talking, but Derek is a 'True Alpha' TM for five seconds,AND he's going to helly-hell to save everyone! He's already a better True Alpha than Scott McCall was over 7-ish seasons. In my brain, there is already a worthy spin-off where we have Spark Stiles and determined bb wolf Eli figuring out how to defeat the Nogi for good and get their real Alpha back.
Also, this...

There are a few things I will always believe about Teen Wolf
Scott was not the main character.
Scott was not a good friend.
Stiles deserved way more credit for everything he did.
Sterek is real.
Calling Scott ‘Scoot’ and adopting Eli while throwing out the rest of the movie are the two funniest things this fandom has ever done.

PETER HALE'S INTEREST IN STILES
There are numerous accounts where Stiles and Peter get along. For pale-weak-defenseless-147-pounds-of-frail-skin-and-fragile-bones Stiles to spend so much time with the psychotic-monstrous-lunatic-who-everyone-hates Peter without the latter killing the former (and not even injuring, ever), it’s a very strange dynamic for the show.
Unfortunately I can not point out all of these instances, but I will do my best to point out the most significant patterns between these two.
I have three main speculations as to why this strange relationship exists between Stiles and Peter, but first let’s look at the evidence:

This is Mieczyslaw “Stiles” Stilinski.
He was Mischief. He was a 10 year old boy dealing with a mother who was losing her mind to dementia believing he was trying to kill her. With an absentee father struggling with the same loss. A boy who had to grow up quickly.
He was Stiles. The best friend of a misfit. Loyal to a fault. With a cutting wit and sarcasm as his only defense. Smarter than anyone, struggling to find his place in the supernatural world. A boy in a red hoodie running with wolves armed with a wooden bat.
And then he was Void.
He defended himself against a brutal supernatural who was stronger and unhinged. Who just wanted to destroy him and his father. It was a choice between his life or Donovan’s life. He saved himself at the cost of the other’s life. And was betrayed by his closest friend.
He was the best of this story. Always.
This is legit the only time I’ve ever cried while watching a video (credit kristinaortutova)

Stiles has a developed story arc. Lydia has a story arc going from the teen queen vamp to highly intelligent banshee who doesn’t hide her intelligence anymore just to rule the school clique.
Chris Argent has an amazing developed story arc, I think the most tragic scene in the entire series was the confrontation of Void Stiles at the loft. When Chris is pointing the gun at Void and who is yelling at him to kill him. The devastated look on Chris’ face when he realizes that he is standing in front of a child (one of his child’s friends no less) that he might have to kill… in front of his parent. A parent who has lost their spouse (like he has). A parent who only has this child left of his family (like he only has Allison). A parent who has dedicated their life to protecting others (like he always thought he was doing and with Allison’s new motto is refocused on protecting others). And he is going to have to destroy this man who is so much like himself.
Scott was definitely not the MC. At best he is an unreliable narrator, he “thinks” he is the MC but it is really Stiles.
Scott does not have a developed story arc. He is basically girl crazy. He blows everyone and everything off for his “current” girlfriend obsession. He plans on killing two people during S1 (Peter) & S2 (Gerard) and then his “developed” arc is “we don’t kill people” when is reality Scott doesn’t kill people he just sets others up to do the dirty work. Like he didn’t try to kill two people and constantly betray and/or set up Derek to take the fall for things.
