       MY LAST SUMMER VACATION
Summer is the warmest season of the year, it is the season for people to take a vacation and spend quality time with family, friends, and relatives. It is time to take a break from those exhausting and wearying days of work and school life. The season to give yourself a rewarding and one of the most unforgettable moments you can cherish for your whole life.
Each one of us has different expectations and plans for a summer vacation. It differs as to whom and how we celebrate it. As for me, most of my summer was spent working as a part-time worker in The Pyramid located at Garden Bloc, IT Park, Cebu City but I still managed to make time to celebrate summer vacation with my friends and family.
One of my remarkable summer vacations is an unexpected trip to Dalaguete with my friends. We weren’t able to plan ahead of time and did not even have enough budget for us to last days.  They just instantly wanted to visit there since my grandparents have a house there for us to stay and eventually that very same day we departed.
One the very first day, what we have for lunch are eggs, instant noodles, and dried fish. Afterward, we watched television and drink alcoholic beverages with small talks. I remembered how my cousin, the caretaker of the house complained as to why we only afforded to buy cheap foods for our daily consumption while staying there which we all laughed out about.
The next day, we went to one of the famous cold springs out there called Gakub spring which is just a walk away from where we stay. We had a great time swimming in the freezing temperature of the spring while drinking some alcoholic beverages, taking memorable pictures and making jokes of one another. Even though we don’t have enough money for our food, we opt to buy drinks since it’ll be one of the reasons for us to enjoy our moment together. What we look forward to is to savor and appreciate each passing time we spent together.
On the last day, we planned to get some coconut from those tall coconut trees behind our house but weren’t able to because of the fences covering us from reaching it. Instead, we took the time to take a rest from those tiring activities we had a day ago, that same afternoon we leave to return to the city. That is how I had one of the most cherished memories with my friends.
Money is not a hindrance for us to have fun and celebrate, we are contented on the simple things we can have as long as we are together and had a great time. As a quote once said, “Money can be earned, but time and good memories can never be recreated.”
