I think some people don't understand how you can't help someone when you need help yourself -

I'm not saying you're not good enough, I'm not saying your help is of no use, but you can't help someone who's on the edge when you're literally next to them. Your help becomes of no use when you're so drained that you're not the supporter anymore. Take a step back and catch your breath before helping others do the same.

You can't help an asthmatic person while you're out of breath - you can't help someone on the verge of death when you're bleeding behind them. Jesus couldn't help Gestas and Dismas on the other crosses, what makes you think you can help your friend from being crucified when you're the first one being hanged with nails?

It's been months since I should've updated my Ao3 fanfic. Funny story really, as I have all the chapters ready to edit but haven't had the time to actually do so -- I still feel guilty towards my readers though... Poor souls are out there waiting for a sign that I'm alive.

Most people who are part of the fandom know this by now, but in case anyone doesn't: the Alice game series developed by American McGee has officially come to an end, EA won't give space for “Alice: Asylum” to happen.

We waited 13 years for a no, for our dreams to be shattered, 13 years spent hoping on something that has now turned to dust. Does that sound fair to anyone? Especially to us players, who have been robbed of comfort, of a safe space, of genuine enjoyment of our free time... But this isn't the first time, is it? This isn't the first time EA has played with the player's and developer's feelings, time and energy for their own ego. In their eyes we are nothing but mere nobodies.

But that’s only because they have no idea of what we can do as a community ready to start a fight we can't lose, the worst has already happened, they already denied us the right to a new “Alice” game (Which, shall I add, THEY proposed to American McGee).

Worst case scenario: things stay the same, there is nothing they can do that goes against any of us. Then why don’t we show them our actual importance as the players-base? Do they seriously think they can put us aside?

We are what keeps these companies running, what gives them power, and at the same time we give and we take back. We're the ones who hold the cards in this game, it's our turn to play.

Personally talking, that game has always been something I could have called a second home at any moment, because it was warm, familiar, and comforting. We go through the journey, we explore her mind and deepest afflictions with her, we get to know “Wonderland” as a whole, not just as a fairytale. It was the start for so many different passions and it's been so much time since I first played but it never stopped having a special place in my heart... When I felt like an outcast, that game never failed to remind me that everyone is a bit weird in their own way and that if people aren't willing to accept you for who you are, maybe the next person will be, just let time do its thing, don't try to rush things or change for someone who is not willing to perceive you on the same level but only willing to look down on you.

Aside from all of this, please, help us spread the message, help us bring back Alice, help us put EA back into its place.
